Omcan Manufacturing and Distributing Company Inc., Food Machinery of America, Inc. dba Omcan and Omcan Inc. are not responsible for any harm or injury caused due to any person’s improper or negligent use of this equipment. The product shall only be operated by someone over the age of 18, of

sound mind, and not under the inuence of any drugs or alcohol, who has been trained in the correct operation of this machine, and is wearing authorized, proper safety clothing. Any modication to the machine voids any warranty, and may cause harm to individuals using the machine or in the vicinity of the machine while in operation.

CHECK PACKAGE UPON ARRIVAL

Upon receipt of an Omcan shipment please inspect for external damage. If no damage is evident on the external packaging, open carton to ensure all ordered items are within the box, and there is no concealed damage to the machine. If the package has suffered rough handling, bumps or damage (visible or concealed), please note it on the bill of lading before accepting the delivery and contact Omcan within 24 hours, so we may initiate a claim with the carrier. A detailed report on the extent of the damage caused to the machine must be

lled out within three days, from the delivery date shown in the shipping documents. Omcan has no recourse

for damaged products that were shipped collect or third party.

Before operating any equipment, always read and familiarize yourself with all operation and safety

instructions.

Omcan would like to thank you for purchasing this machine. It’s of the utmost importance to save these instructions for future reference. Also save the original box and packaging for shipping the

equipment if servicing or returning of the machine is required.

Safety and Warranty

• The equipped protections do not allow the operator to accidentally get in contact with the operating parts

that move.

• The machine is equipped with an overload switch that protects the motor in the event of any undue stress

as a prolonged blockage of the motor.

• Do not wear loose clothing when operating the machine.

• Make sure hair is gathered and secure to avoid injury.

• NEVER use tools not intended for the machine to help during operation.

Safety and Warranty

• NEVER touch the moving parts of the machine.

• NEVER connect the power source with wet hands or wet clothes.

• ALWAYS ground the machine properly.

• NEVER spray water or other liquid substances directly at the motor, power switch or any other electrical

components.

• ALWAYS install equipment in working area with adequate light and away from CHILDREN and non-trained

personnel.

• NEVER operate without all warning labels attached and owner/operator manual available.

• NEVER leave the machine unattended while operating.

• STOP the machine immediately if you hear abnormal noises or fear that injuries may occur.

• CONTACT your distributor if you have any problems with the installation or operation of this machine.

• ALWAYS turn the machine off before cleaning and maintenance.

• PROVIDE enough space around the machine.

• ALWAYS keep the oor dry. Wet oors may cause the operator to slip.

• ALWAYS turn the machine off in the case of a short circuit.

• NEVER let dust or water get into electrical or mechanical components of the machine.

1 YEAR PARTS AND LABOUR BENCH WARRANTY

Within the warranty period, contact Omcan Inc. At 1-800-465-0234 to schedule a drop off to either an Omcan authorized service depot in the area, or to an Omcan Service warehouse to repair the

equipment.

Unauthorized maintenance will void the warranty. Warranty covers electrical and part failures, not

improper use.

WARNING:

The packaging components are classied as normal solid urban waste and can therefore be disposed of without difculty.

In any case, for suitable recycling, we suggest disposing of the products separately (differentiated waste) according to the current norms.

DO NOT DISCARD ANY PACKAGING MATERIALS IN THE ENVIRONMENT!

Installation

UNPACKING

Immediately after unpacking the machine, check it for possible shipping damage. If this machine is found to be damaged after unpacking, save the packing material and contact the carrier.

Installation

Prior to installation, test the electrical service to assure that it agrees with the specications on the machine

data plate.

ELECTRICAL

WARNING: This machine is provided with this plug, this plug must be connected to a properly

grounded outlet. If the receptacle is not the proper grounding type, contact an electrician.

Operation

IMPORTANT

Very easy to operate: once started you only need to put into the ller your dry bread to grate it ne and homogeneous.

HOW TO LOAD THE PRODUCT TO BE CUT

Bread can be put in the machine also when grater is operating.

1. Place a bag on the specic tongs to collect grated bread.

2. Put and drop bread in the cylinder hollow.

3. Place the switch on 0 position.

4. Take away the bag where grated bread has been collected.

WARNING

In case of a blockage to the motor follow these instructions:

1. Turn the switch to the 0 position.

2. Turn it to the reverse position and keep it just few seconds in this position: the direction of rotation is reversed, unblocking it.

3. Turn the switch to the 1 position to restart the normal operation. If the motor continues to block, repeat the instructions from 1 to 3 until the machine operates normally.

When the grating operation is nished switch off the toggle placing it on 0 position.

OVERLOAD SWITCH

The machine is equipped with an overload switch that protects the motor in the event of

any undue stress as a prolonged blockage of the motor.

The overload switch switches off the power and stops the machine.

Operation

To restart the machine it is necessary to:

1. Place the machine on its side; the overload switch is on the lower section.

2. Re-position the switch to 0.

3. Disconnect the machine from the main supply.

4. Remove the cause of the blockage.

5. Wait approximately 10 sec.

6. Push the push button to reactivate the motor protector.

7. Restart the machine.

Maintenance

CLEANING

The materials utilized, anodized aluminium, stainless steel and plastics have been selected with due regard

to hygiene regulations: “Rule CE n. 1935/2004 for the materials and things destined to come into contact with

food”.

WARNING: disconnect machine from socket.

1. Loosen both cylindrical loading ller screws.

2. Lift cylindrical loading ller by tilting it slightly forward.

3. Loosen both xing screws.

4. Extract drain from screws.

5. Use a brush to clean crumbling powder and if necessary an aspirator.

This machine must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after installation and before being put into service.

ASSEMBLING

1. Reallocate drain between screws.

2. Fasten both xing screws.

3. Allocate cylindrical ller by tilting it forward.

4. Fasten ller cylindrical locking screws.
