DSS Player Pro Transcription Module Features

- Plays DSS, DSS Pro, WMA, MP3 and WAV/AIFF audio formats in the background
when another application is running, such as a word processor.

- Enables foot switch control of the playback process.

- Transcription can be done by combining the playback sound with the adjustable
playback speed, tone control, and noise cancellation.
However, it is not possible to playback while setting the playback speed and noise
cancellation simultaneously with the Macintosh version.

- Receives dictation files and sends created document files by e-mail or FTP.*

- Expand FTP support to include Passive mode and SSL.*
Sorts received dictation files by sender, and automatically sends created document files.*

- Manages created document files in association with dictation files.*

- Voice recognition of dictation files is possible with the Dragon Naturally Speaking 8.0

Installing DSS Player Software

Be sure to confirm the following before installation:

• Exit all running applications.

• Eject the floppy disk if you are using one.

• If you are running Windows 2000/XP/Vista or Mac OS X on the network, you need to log on
as an Administrator.

Windows

For the Windows version, there is an installation
method for individuals and one for administrators
to install on multiple client PCs. An explanation
of the installation method for individuals installing
the software on a single PC will be provided here.

Insert Olympus DSS Player CD into the

CD-ROM drive.

The installation program will start automatically.
If the installation program does not start
automatically, browse your CD-ROM drive and
execute “launcher.exe”.

The launcher will startup.

Select the language you would like to install from

the upper-left pull-down menu and click [DSS Player
Pro Installation].

The Install Wizard will begin.

Once you have consented to the licensing

agreement, enter your name, company name, and
license ID number (serial number).
The license ID number is printed on the license ID
card included inside the Transcription Kits package.

Proceed with the installation according to

the instructions on the screen.

Macintosh

Insert Olympus DSS Player CD into the

CD-ROM drive.

Double-click the CD icon.

Double-click the setup icon.

The Install Wizard will begin.

Once you have consented to the licensing
agreement, follow the instructions on the screen to
complete the installation.

Proceed with the installation according to

the instructions on the screen.

You will be requested to restart, so

5

conduct a restart by following the
instructions.

Uninstalling DSS Player Software

Windows

Exit DSS Player program.

Click the [start] button on the taskbar.

Uninstalling DSS Player Software

Select [Add/Remove programs] from the

[Control Panel].

A list of installed applications is displayed.

Select [Olympus DSS Player Pro], then

click the [Change/Remove] button.

Proceed with the uninstallation according

to the instructions on the screen.

Exit DSS Player program.

Double click “ DSS Uninstaller” in

[Application] = [DSS Player] folder.

An uninstaller is displayed.

Proceed with the uninstallation according

to the instructions on the screen.

Note

• The dictation files you made are stored in the [MESSAGE]
folder. If you don’t need them, delete them. You can
confirm the location of the [MESSAGE] folder by clicking
on [Options] in the [Tools] menu before uninstalling.

To start online Help:

Click the [start] button, then select [All

While DSS Player is running, select the [Help]

Running DSS Player Software

By default, connecting the recorder to your PC, will start the application automatically. Connecting
to your PC Using the Cradle.

Disabling Automatic Start

Right-click the Device Detector in the

System Tray in the lower right-hand
corner of the screen, then select
[Settings startup application].

Click [DSS Player Pro].

Running DSS Player Software

The check mark on [DSS Player Pro] disappears.

Manual Start

Start Windows.

Click the [start] button, then select [All

All program menu will be displayed.

• If you install DSS Player Pro, Device Detector that makes
DSS Player run automatically when connecting Olympus
Digital Voice Recorder will be installed.Device Detector
will always be displayed as icon in the task tray.

The user’s registration screen will be displayed at
the time of initial startup. Please input the serial
number. Please see the seal attached to the CD­ROM package included with the DSS Player, for
the serial number. After the input has ended, click
[OK] to complete the registration.

Installation du logiciel DSS

Préparatifs de l’installation:

• Quittez toutes les applications en cours.

• Si vous êtes en train d’utiliser une disquette, ôtez-la du lecteur.

• Si vous utilisez Windows 2000/XP/Vista ou Mac OS X en réseau, vous devez vous connecter
en tant qu’administrateur.

Windows

A propos de la version de Windows, il existe une
méthode d’installation individuelle et une autre pour
les administrateurs en cas d’installation sur
plusieurs ordinateurs clients.
Une explication de la méthode d’installation du
logiciel sur un ordinateur unique sera fournie ici.

Insérez le CD Olympus DSS Player dans

le lecteur de CD-ROM.

Le programme d’installation démarre automatiquement.
Si le programme d’installation ne démarre pas
automatiquement, parcourez votre lecteur de CD­ROM et exécutez “launcher.exe”.

Le lancement de l’installation démarre.

Sélectionnez la langue à installer dans le menu

[Installation de DSS Player Pro].

L’assistant d’installation démarre.

Une fois l’accord de licence accepté, entrez votre nom,

le nom de votre société et le numéro d’identification
(ID) de licence (le numéro de série).
Le numéro d’identification de licence figure sur la
carte d’identification de licence fournie avec l’Kit
de transcription.

Effectuez l’installation en suivant les

sur [Options] dans le menu [Outils] avant la désinstallation.

Instalación de software DSS Player

Asegúrese de haber hecho lo siguiente antes de proceder a realizar la instalación:

• Cierre todas las aplicaciones que esté ejecutando.

• Si está usando un disquete, sáquelo de su ordenador.

• Si está ejecutando Windows 2000/XP/Vista o Mac OS X en una red, tiene que acceder a
ésta como un administrador.

Para Windows, existe un método de instalación
para particulares y otro para administradores
para la instalación en distintos PCs de clientes.
En este documento se detalla el método de
instalación del software para particulares en un
solo ordenador.

Inserte el CD de DSS Player de Olympus

en el lector de CD-ROM.

El programa de instalación se iniciará
automáticamente.
Si el programa de instalación no se inicia
automáticamente, examine la unidad de CD-ROM
y ejecute “launcher.exe”.

Arrancará la instalación

Seleccione el idioma que desee instalar pulsando

en el menú desplegable de la parte superior
izquierda [Instalacion de DSS Player Pro].

Se iniciará el asistente de instalación.

Una vez haya aceptado el acuerdo de la licencia,

introduzca su nombre, el de su empresa y el
número de identificación de la licencia (número de
serie).
El número de identificación de la licencia está
impreso en la tarjeta de identificación de la licencia
incluida en el paquete de la Kit de Transcripcion.

Continúe con la instalación siguiendo las

- Spielt DSS-, DSS Pro-, WMA-, MP3- und WAV-/AIFF-Audioformate im Hintergrund

- Riproduce in background i formati audio DSS, DSS Pro, WMA, MP3 e WAV/AIFF
quando è attiva un’altra applicazione come, per esempio, un elaboratore di testi.

- Attiva il controllo della riproduzione tramite interruttore a pedale.

- Permette di effettuare la trascrizione regolando la velocità di riproduzione e il tono ed
inserendo la funzione di cancellazione del rumore. Con la versione Macintosh non è
possibile eseguire la riproduzione impostando contemporaneamente la regolazione

Installazione del software DSS Player

Prima di procedere all’installazione, osservate quanto segue:

• Chiudete tutte le applicazioni attive.

• Estraete il floppy disk, se ne state usando uno.

• Se state usando Windows 2000/XP/Vista oppure Mac OS X su una rete, dovete aprire la

sessione come amministratore.

La versione Windows presenta un metodo di
installazione individuale e uno per
amministratori per l’installazione multipla su
PC client.
Di seguito è riportato il metodo d’installazione
individuale su singolo PC.

Inserire il CD Olympus DSS Player nel

drive CD-ROM.

Il programma di installazione si avvia
automaticamente.
Se il programma di installazione non dovesse
avviarsi automaticamente, sfogliare l’unità CD­ROM e lanciare il file “launcher.exe”.

Si avvia il programma di installazione.

Selezionare la lingua in cui si desidera installare

il software dal menu a tendita in alto a sinistra e
fare clic su [Installazione DSS Player Pro].

Si avvia la procedura di installazione

Dopo aver accettato il contratto di licenza, inserire
il vostro nome, il nome dell’azienda, e il numero
ID di licenza (numero seriale).
Il numero ID di licenza è stampato sulla scheda
ID di licenza presente all’interno della confezione
del Kit di Trascrizione.
