Before you start the install, be sure the USB cable is
connected to your printer and PC, and your printer is
powered off.
1. Turn the printer on.
2. Windows Add New Hardware Wizard displays. Click
Next.
3. Select Search for the best driver... Click Next.
4. Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive.
5. Select CD-ROMdrive, clear other choices. Click Next.
6. The OKI USB device is detected. Click Next.
7. The File is copied. Click Finish.
If the Menu Installer displays, click Cancel and continue the
install using Add Printer Wizard.
8. The Add New Hardware Wizard appears. Click Next.
9. Select Search for the best driver... Click Next.
10.Select CD-ROM Drive. Select Specify Location. Clear
other selections.
11.Click Browse. Navigate to your CD-ROM drive\
Drivers\USB\Win9xme\English\PCL Emul. Click OK.
12.Click Next.
13.Click Next.
14.Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the
installation.
15.Click Finish.

Note:NT 4.0 Users
This driver provides the benefit of increased
throughput if ECP is enabled in your
computer’s BIOS. See your computer’s manual
for information on how to enable ECP.

CHOOSE A PRINTER DRIVER
If you do not require a logo-certified driver and you want the
benefit of faster throughput, follow the instructions to Install An ECP-Enabled Driver. You must also enable the ECP
setting in your system BIOS. See your computer’s manual for
information on how to enable ECP.
If your setup requires a logo-certified driver follow the
instructions to Install a Logo Driver.
INSTALL AN ECP-ENABLED DRIVER
1. Check that the cable is installed.
2. Turn on the printer.
3. The New Hardware Found Wizard displays.
4. Insert the CD into your CD-ROM Drive.

Ready LED
ON: On-line state.
OFF: Off-line state/initializing/error.
BLINK: Receiving data/local print.
LCD Display
Displays functions. Notifies operator of status, error codes
and information messages.
BUTTONS
Menu Button
In on-line mode: Enters the Menu mode.
In off-line mode: Enters the Menu mode.
In Menu mode: Advances to next category in the Menu;
reverses to previous category when pressed for 2 seconds.
Item +/- Button
In Menu mode: Advances/reverse to next Item.
In on-line mode: Invalid.
In off-line mode: Invalid.
Value +/- Button
In Menu mode: Advance/reverse the value in the Menu.
In on-line mode: Invalid.
On off-line mode: Invalid.
Select Button
In Menu mode: Sets the value in the Menu.
In on-line mode: Invalid.
In off-line mode: Invalid.
On-line Button
Selects on-line/off line state.
In Menu mode: Exits the Menu mode and goes on-line.
Cancel Button
In on-line mode: Deletes a job being processed; cancels a job
being printed.
In off-line mode: Switch is disabled.
In Menu mode: Exits the Menu mode and goes on-line.
In error mode: Deletes pending job due to Paper End error.

PRINT A MENU MAP OF
PRINTER SETTINGS
1. Press the MENU button. INFO MENU displays.
2. Press the ITEM + button. MENU MAP PRINT displays.
3. Press the SELECT button. The Menu pages print.
CHANGE A SETTING
Remember, features selected in your software will override the
same features selected in the printer’s Menu.
1. Press the MENU button continuously until the menu
category you want appears.
2. Press the ITEM+ button to advance to the next menu
category item.
3. Press the VALUE+ button to advance the category
item value.
4. Press the SELECT button to set the value in the menu.

In order to open the on-line User’s Guide, you must have
Acrobat Reader installed.
1. Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.
2. Click Star®Run®Browse. Browse to your CD-ROM
drive and double-click Install.exe. Click OK.
3. The License Agreement appears. Click I Accept. Click Next.
4. The Menu Installer appears.
5. Click the Documentation button.
