CONNECTING DEVICES TO ALARM INPUTS AND OUTPUTS
6. CONNECTING DEVICES TO ALARM INPUTS AND OUTPUTS
Connecting devices to alarm inputs and outputs.
NDR-HA4208 and NDR-HA4416 recorders feature 8 or 16 alarm inputs and out allowing you to connect external devices. Wiring connectors are equipped with clamp terminals.
NOTE: Alarm inputs and outputs are not lightning-protected. User should protect the inputs against the electric discharges, that may damage the equipment..
Current load capacity of each alarm input cannot exceed 2 A for 125 V AC and 1A for 30 VDC . Directly to outputs you can connect e.g. LED (light-emitting diode) creating a circuit (as presented on the chart below) for each output. If there is a need to connect devices which demand a lot of current you have to use additional circuits (e.g. with a transmitter). Outputs can work as normally closed or normally open.

8. DISPLAYING TEXT ON THE IMAGE
8.1 Displaying text on the image
NDR-HA4208 and NDR-HA4416 feature the possibility of displaying both the images from the cameras and ASCII text generated by external devices, such as cash registers, ATM machines or a PC computers with access control software installed. The DVR can support up to 16 peripheral devices that generate text and are connected to LAN, RS-232, RS-485 and USB ports.
Note: Proper communication between peripherals and the DVR requires that the data format sent
by the peripheral is known. As mentioned before, the data should be in ASCII format. In case devices generate text data in other formats, no text displaying is possible.
The DVR doesn’t limit the amount of recorded text. Text is stored together with images originating from corresponding cameras.
In order for the transaction to be displayed in the preview and playback modes you need to highlight Transaction in the recorder’s menu found in the Devices / Monitors / OSD submenu.
When operating in network environment, text data are not displayed, both in live and playback modes. During network copying of the recordings using Minibank format, text data are included into the file. An example of this is shown below:
In order to enable the function of displaying text on the images you need to choose Transaction sub-menu in the Event menu.
