Disassembling the Phone
(1)
Check the condition of the window. Protect the window with a film.

To remove the battery cover (2), pull the locking latch
(1).

Remove battery from the battery cover.
(5)
Then open the flip upright.

To remove the A-cover, first release the clip by using
SRT-6.
(6)
Open the other side clips with SRT-6. Start with the
clip as shown in the picture above.

Open the opposite side.

Carefully lift the topside of the A-cover a bit and open
the bottom clip.

Open the clip on the other side.

First, lift the topside of the A-cover then move the Acover forward.

Open the flip completely.

To remove the window, press down the function keys
as shown in the picture above.

Remove the joystick button.

The bottom side of the keymat is glued to the keydome, therefore move up the keymat with SRT-6 carefully. Mind the underneath LEDs.

Unscrew the six TORX PLUS® size 6 screws, using the
order shown. For assembly, use the reverse order
and a torque of 19Ncm.

To remove the engine from the B-cover, pull the flip.

Carefully remove the coax connector with tweezers,
while taking care not to cant the connector.

The modules can now be separated.

Protect the LCD with a film.

Move SRT-6 on along the edge.

Carefully place SRT-6 between the qwerty frame and
flip.

To release the leaving snaps, use fingers to grip the
qwerty frame.

The qwerty frame is loose. Always use a new frame
during assembly

Starting from the middle position, carefully detach
the keymat from the domesheet.

Unlock the two snaps of T9 keymat with SRT-6.

Carefully remove the coax connector with angled
tweezers, while taking care not to cant the connector.

You can now remove the T9 keymat.

Push out the flip electric module from the backside to
the front.

You can use a DC plug to remove the DC-jack.

Insert the spike of a dental tool into microphone
opening and lever up the microphone.

Unlock the plastic clips of the locking latch.

To remove the antenna, bend the B-cover’s clip a bit.
Lift up the bottom side of the antenna and take care
not to damage the spring contacts.

Remove the SIM cover.

To unplug the display connector, pull the modules
apart very carefully.

Open display clips on both sides.

The earpiece is attached with a double-sided adhesive
foam tape. Always use a new tape when mounting the
earpiece anew.

When placing the module upside down on the desk,
take care not to damage the joystick. Use the soldering jig when repairing.

Use the battery connector as base and lever up the
connector shield.

The camera module is attached with four snaps into
its guidance. To unlock the snaps on both sides, place
SRT-10 as shown in the picture. Note the releasing
order.

Do not touch contacts or the camera lens. Always use
SRT-10 for assembly and disassembly.

Changing the Dome Sheet
(1)
To loosen the corner of the keydome, use SRT-6. Be
careful not to damage the LEDs. The B-cover or soldering jig can be used to fix the power board.

To avoid remains of glue, tear off the keydome in
diagonal direction. Check pads for cleanness.
(4)
Place a new keydome on to the assembly jig. Note the
guiding pins.
(5)
Place the power board on the jig. Note the guiding
pins.
Remove the protection foil. Do not touch the adhesive
side of the keydome.
(6)
This is the correct position of the assembly jig.

Carefully press the power board onto the keydome.
(8)
Check that the keydome is properly mounted to the
power board.
