SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Do not use the machine without- filters properly fitted.
• This machine is not intended for the suction of hazardous materi-als or gas, doing so may expose people to serious health risks.
• Do not pick up sharp objects such as needles or pieces of glass.
• Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking such as ciga-rettes, matches or hot ashes.
• Use and store this machine indoors and in a dry environment, 0 °C to 60 °C.
• Do not use the machine outdoors.
• Do not handle the machine with wet hands.
• Turn off the machine before un-plugging.
• To unplug, grasp the plug, not by pulling on the cord. Do not carry or pull the machine by the cord.
• The machine must not be used if the cord shows any sign of dam-age. Regularly inspect the cord for damage, in particular if it has been crushed, shut in a door or run over.
• Do not use the machine if it ap-pears faulty.Have the machine inspected by an authorized service center if the machine has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors or has been exposed to water.
• No changes or modifications to the mechanical or electrical safety devices should be made.
• All repairs must be carried out by an authorized service center.
• Use only original dust bags, original filters and original accessories from your local dealer. Use of unauthorized dust bags and filters will void the warranty.
• Tur n off the machine and unplug before starting dust bag or filter change, grasp the plug, not by pull-ing on the cord.
• Do not use the machine as a toy. Do not leave children with the machine without supervi­sion.
• This appliance is not intended for use by young persons or infirm persons without supervi­sion unless they have been adequately super-vised by a responsible person to ensure that they can use the appli-ance safely.Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufac-turer or its service agent or similary qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

OPERATING THE CLEANER

NOTE
1.When using the control button for suction power, make sure that the transmitter of the
remote controller not be blocked by your body.
2.When operating the cleaner in a room with a high ceiling or under intensive light, the suc-
tion power controlling button may not work properly.So, use the "Power Control" button on the main body.
3.When the battery is run down, it does not work with the button pressed on the handle
control part. In this case, replace the battery.(How to change: Refer to User Manual No.6)
NOTE
When removing the plug from the electrical outlet, grasp the plug, not the cord.
SENDER
Press Power Control on the main body to turn on the power (MAX).
And, press it again to turn it off (STOP).

1. Do not put it near the TV with its power on.
2. Do not put an iron skewer into the negative ion discharge port.
3.Do not pour liquid, etc into the negative ion discharge port.
4.Do not put any object into ionizer opening.

The Cyclone Filter must be used at all times to retain optimum efficiency.

INDICATOR LIGHTS
When the indicator light comes on, please empty and clean the Cyclone Filter (4-1) and the Basket filter (4-2) as shown in the following illustrations.
NOTE
Do not over fill Cyclonic Filter.It must be emptied when the dustreaches Dust Full Level.
- Model with the negative ion function
When power is applied to the unit, the “GREEN”
LED turns on and negative ions come out.

You can rinse the basket filter with water.
Do not immerse the whole cleaner in water. Ensure completely dry before replacing.

PROBLEM CAUSE REMEDY 0
- IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM
Motor does not start.
No power supply. Thermal cut-out.
Check cable, plug and socket. Leave to cool.
Suction force is gradually decreasing.
Nozzle, suction hose or tube is blocked.
Check for blockage and remove.
Cord does not rewind fully. Check that the cord is not
twisted or wound unevenly.
Pull the cord out 2-3m and push down the cord rewind button.
Vacuum cleaner does not pick up dirt.
Crack or hole in hose.
Check hose and replace if required.
Low or decreasing suction
Filter is full with dust.
Please check filter and, if required, clean as illustrated in the instructions.

CHANGE THE BATTERY
WARNING
1. Never disassemble or recharge the batteries.
2. Never heat up the batteries or throw them into fire.
3. Do not reverse (+),(-) terminals.
4. Dispose the batteries properly.
NOTE
When the vacuum cleaner does not operate, replace the batteries. If the problem persists, please contact our authorized dealer.

GUARANTEE AND SERVICE
This Nilfisk Smart Series vacuum cleaner is covered by a two (2) year guarantee on the
machine, which covers the motor, cable rewinder, switch and casing.The nozzles, filters, hoses, tubes and other accessories are covered twelve months due to manufacturing fault only and excludes wear and tear.
The guarantee includes spare parts and labour costs, and covers manu-facturing and
material defects that may occur during normal domestic use.
Service under the guarantee will only be performed if it can be proven that the defect
occurred within the product’s guarantee period (a correctly completed guarantee certificate or printed/stamped cash register receipt with date and product type) and on the condition that the vacuum cleaner was bought as a new product in Great Britain/Ireland/Australia/New Zealand and distributed by Nilfisk-Advance.
In the event of the repair of defects, the customer must contact Nilfisk-Advance to be
directed to a service agent at the customers own expense.
Upon completion of any repairs necessary, the vacuum cleaner will be returned to the
customer at the risk and expense of Nilfisk-Advance.
The guarantee does not cover:
• Normal wear and tear of accesso-ries and filters.
• Defects or damage occurring as a direct or indirect result of incorrect use - such as the vacuuming of rubble, hot ashes or carpet deodorant powder.
• Abuse, loss or lack of maintenance as described in Instructions for use.
• If the machine has been used for home renovations.
• If the machine has been used for suction of water,plaster dust or sawdust. Nor will it cover incorrect or poor configuration, i.e. setting up or connection, nor fire
-damage, fire, lightning strike or unusual voltage fluctuations or any other electrical disturbances such as defective fuses or defective electrical installations on the supply grid, and defects or damage in general that Nilfisk- Advance consider to be the result of causes other than manufacturing and material defects.
THE GUARANTEE BECOMES VOID:
• If a defect is caused by the use of filters.
• If the identity number is removed from the vacuum cleaner.
• If the vacuum cleaner has been repaired by a non-Nilfisk authorized dealer.
• If the machine is used in a com-mercial environment, i.e.building contractors, cleaning contractors, professional trades or any other non-domestic usage.
