IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
- This product is designed for household use only -
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against electrical shock and personal injury, do not immerse this appliance, including cord and plug, in water or other liquid.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool completely before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. To avoid hazards, return appliance to NESCO® Factory Service Department for examination, repair or adjustment.
7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may result in re, electric shock or injury to persons.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electrical burner or in a heated oven.
11. Do not use appliance for other than intended use as described in this manual
12. Extreme CAUTION must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or or other hot liquids.
13. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.
14. Always place appliance on a at and sturdy surface.

Polarized Plug: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). To reduce risk of electric shock, plug is intended to t into polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not t, contact a qualied electrician. Do not try to modify the plug in any way. Short Cord Instructions: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

Clean Tea Maker before Using the First Time
1. Wash carafe, steeping chamber, and stainless steel tea lter in a mixture of mild
detergent and warm water, rinse thoroughly and dry.
2. Place stainless steel tea lter into steeping chamber and place cover on top of chamber,
insert into upper compartment of tea maker. Place carafe into lower compartment with lid closed. During the initial cleaning process do not place loose leaf tea or tea bags into the lter.
3. Open tank cover completely and ll with cold water up to the MAX ll line on the
water gauge. Allow water to drain completely into tank before closing the lid.
4. Insert plug into a 120 volt electrical outlet.
5. Set steeping control at “2” then press the power switch; you will hear a loud click and
a red light in the switch will illuminate indicating the tea maker has been activated.
6. Soon the water within the tank will boil and then release into the steeping chamber.
After two minutes the tea maker will automatically allow the water in the steeping chamber to drain into the tea carafe.
7. Turn your tea maker off, discard the water in the carafe.
8. Your tea maker is now ready to use. Enjoy it!
How to brew tea
1. Place funnel over tea lter and ll with desired amount of tea, you may use loose leaf
tea or tea bags. (Generally 1-1/2 teaspoons per 10 oz. cup). Remove funnel and place tea lter into the steeping chamber, close lid and insert into the upper compartment.
2. Open tank cover completely and ll with cold water to the desire amount. Do not
exceed the MAX ll line on the water gauge but make sure to ll the water tank to at least the MIN ll line. Allow water to drain completely into tank before closing the lid.
3. Insert carafe into lower compartment with lid closed.
4. Insert plug into a 120 volt electrical outlet.
5. Set steeping control to desired setting, between 2 and 16 minutes. Press the power
switch; you will hear a loud click and a red light in the switch will illuminate indicating the tea maker is activated. One minute into the brewing cycle you will hear another loud click.
6. Soon the water within the tank will boil and then release into the steeping chamber.
Depending on your predetermined setting for steeping time (between 2 and 16 minutes) you will hear another loud click and the tea maker will automatically allow the water in the steeping chamber to drain into the tea carafe. At this point the indicator light on the switch will illuminate to green.
7. The tea is ready to serve. The warming plate, located under the carafe, will keep your
tea hot for one hour before automatically turning off.
Built in Automatic Safety Settings
- The tea maker can only be operated with the steeping chamber and carafe fully inserted
into the compartments mentioned in the instructions above.
- If the steeping chamber or carafe is removed during the brewing cycle the appliance will
stop operation, the indicator lamp will ash red. If the removed parts are not re-inserted the tea maker will turn off in 10 minutes, if the removed parts are re-inserted prior to 10 minute the tea maker will return to normal operation.
- The tea maker will automatically turn off one hour after nal brewing cycle.

Care and Cleaning Instructions
1. ALWAYS unplug the tea maker and let cool before cleaning.
2. Wash steeping chamber, stainless steel lter and carafe with mild detergent and warm
water. Rinse well and dry.
3. Clean the tea maker body with a clean, damp, soft cloth. Do not immerse power unit
in water or any other liquids.
4. Minerals found in water can leave deposits in your tea maker that may affect its
performance. It’s recommended that you regularly clean your tea maker by using a citric acid-based decalcifying product or white household vinegar. Using one of the products above, add to water and ll tank reservoir to MAX ll line. Operate one brew cycle per the “Clean Your Tea Maker Before Using The First Time” instructions above.
