When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be
followed, including the following:
1. READ AND SAVE ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against electric shock do not immerse cord, plug, or
temperature controller in water or other liquid.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near

5. Unplug from electrical outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.

disconnect, turn any control to OFF, then remove plug from wall outlet.

15. While in use, keep appliance out of the reach of babies and children.
16. Do not leave appliance unattended while in use.
17. When in use, keep appliance 10 inches from walls and do not use near
or under an overhang, such as a cupboard.
18. Do not use without base in place. Clean after each use.
19. Fuels, such as charcoal or the like, are not to be used with appliance.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS!
Polarized Plug: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than
the other). To reduce risk of electric shock, plug is intended to t into polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully into the outlet, reverse the
plug. If it still does not t, contact a qualied electrician. Do not try to modify
the plug in any way.
Short Cord Instructions: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce
the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension
cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the cord should be at least as great
as the electrical rating of the appliance. The longer cord should be arranged so
that it will not drape over the tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or
tripped over unintentionally.

Before rst use
Before using the appliance, READ AND SAVE ALL INSTRUCTIONS. Wipe down
the appliance with a soft damp cloth and make sure there is no metal or foreign
objects on the temperature control. Wipe dry with soft cloth. NOTE: During rst use,
the appliance may give off a slight odor. This is normal and the potential odor will
burn off quickly.
Operation
1. Place base on a at, heat resistant, stable surface in a well ventilated area.
2. Select ribbed grill side or smooth griddle side. Set cooking plate into base.
3. Make sure the temperature controller is in OFF position. Insert control into inlet
on cooking plate handle. Then insert plug into electrical outlet.
4. Adjust controller to desired setting. NOTE: The signal light on controller
indicates heat setting. When desired setting is reached, the light will turn off.
It will continue to cycle on and off during use to indicate heat setting is being
automatically maintained.
5. Allow preheat 7-10 minutes. Place food directly onto cooking plate and cook to desired doneness.
6. When nished cooking, turn controller to off and remove plug from power
outlet.IMPORTANT: To avoid injury wait until the appliance has cooled before
removing the temperature controller.
CAUTION:
• Hot oil and liquid may splash as grease and juices hit drip tray.
• ALWAYS USE CARE WHILE USING THIS APPLIANCE!
• DO NOT TOUCH! any hot surfaces while cooking. The grill or griddle may
become hot while cooking and will remain hot after use and during cool down.
• DO NOT overload the grill surface.
• DO NOT remove the temperature probe until the dial is turned to OFF, the cord
unplugged and appliance is completely cooled.
• DO NOT move the appliance while in use.

Cooking Tips
• If using bamboo or wooden skewers, soak in water at least 30 minutes before use
to prevent burning.
• Use only plastic, or wooden utensils to avoid scratching the non-stick surface.
• Never cut food on non-stick surface.
• Cut food into small and equal pieces to ensure more even cooking.
• Frozen food should always be thawed before it is grilled.
• If you grill vegetables, sh or lean meat, spray the grilling surface with a cooking
spray before turning on. If you are grilling meat with any amount of fat, or if the
food has been marinated, there is no need to treat the grill prior to cooking.
• If using a marinade with oil, place grill near an exhaust hood. Oil or fat may
produce smoke.

Care and Cleaning Instructions
1. Turn temperature controller to OFF and unplug cord from power outlet.
2. Always allow grill to cool completely before cleaning and removing temperature
controller.
3. Remove the temperature controller from unit. NEVER IMMERSE
TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
4. Gently remove the cooled cooking plate and clean with warm soapy water. Use
soft cloth or sponge to clean grill surfaces. Cooking plate is NOT dishwasher safe
5. Allow base to cool completely before cleaning. Absorb any excess water or grease
from base with a paper towel. Clean with warm soapy water.
6. Remove stubborn stains with a plastic scouring pad and mild dish soap.
