Use the attached specified cables with the LCD4000e (L403FU) color monitor so as not to interfere with radio and television reception. (1)

Please use the supplied power cord or equivalent to ensure FCC compliance. (2) Please use the supplied shielded video signal cable, 15-pin mini D-SUB to 15-pin mini D-SUB. (3) Please attach the ferrite cores on the Audio Cable and S-VIDEO Cable. Please see page 11 of this manual.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. Safety Precautions and Maintenance

FOR OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE, PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING WHEN SETTING UP AND USING THE LCD4000e LCD COLOR MONITOR:

• DO NOT OPEN THE MONITOR. There are no user serviceable parts inside and opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous shock hazards or other risks. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

• Do not spill any liquids into the cabinet or use your monitor near water.

• Do not insert objects of any kind into the cabinet slots, as they may touch dangerous voltage points, which can be harmful or fatal or may cause electric shock, fire or equipment failure.

• Do not place any heavy objects on the power cord. Damage to the cord may cause shock or fire.

• Do not place this product on a sloping or unstable cart, stand or table, as the monitor may fall, causing serious damage to the monitor.

• When operating the LCD4000e monitor with its AC 220-240V power supply, use a power supply cord that matches the power supply voltage of the AC power outlet being used. The power supply cord you use must have been approved by and comply with the safety standards of your country. (Type H05VV-F 3G

should be used in Europe)

• In UK, use a BS-approved power cord with molded plug having a black (13A) fuse installed for use with this monitor. If a power cord is not supplied with this monitor, please contact your supplier.

• Do not place any objects onto the monitor and do not use the monitor outdoors.

• The inside of the fluorescent tube located within the LCD monitor contains mercury. Please follow the bylaws or rules of your municipality to dispose of the tube properly.

• Do not bend power cord.

• Do not use monitor in high temperature, humid, dusty, or oily areas.

• If glass is broken, handle with care.

• Do not cover vent on monitor.

• If monitor or glass is broken, do not come in contact with the liquid crystal and handle with care.

• Allow adequate ventilation around the monitor so that heat can properly dissipate. Do not block ventilated openings or place the monitor near a radiator or other heat sources. Do not put anything on top of monitor.

• The power cable connector is the primary means of detaching the system from the power supply. The monitor should be installed close to a power outlet which is easily accessible.

• Handle with care when transporting. Save packaging for transporting.

• Keep the holes on the back of the LCD clean of dirt and dust. It is recommended to wipe holes with a soft cloth a minimum of once per year.

CAUTION

Immediately unplug your monitor from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:

• When the power supply cord or plug is damaged.

• If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the monitor.

• If the monitor has been exposed to rain or water.

• If the monitor has been dropped or the cabinet damaged.

• If the monitor does not operate normally by following operating instructions.

Recommended Use CAUTION

CORRECT PLACEMENT AND ADJUSTMENT OF THE MONITOR CAN REDUCE EYE, SHOULDER AND NECK FATIGUE. CHECK THE FOLLOWING WHEN YOU POSITION THE MONITOR:

• For optimum performance, allow 20 minutes for warm-up.

• Rest your eyes periodically by focusing on an object at least 20 feet away. Blink often.

• Position the monitor at a 90˚ angle to windows and other light sources to minimize glare and reflections.

• Clean the LCD monitor surface with a lint-free, nonabrasive cloth. Avoid using any cleaning solution or glass cleaner.

• Adjust the monitor’s brightness and contrast controls to enhance readability.

• Avoid displaying fixed patterns on the monitor for long periods of time to avoid image persistence (afterimage effects).

• Get regular eye checkups.

• The lamp of backlight contains mercury. Please handle it appropriately in case of disposal.

Ergonomics

To realize the maximum ergonomics benefits, we recommend the following:

• Use the preset Size and Position controls with standard signals

• Use the preset Color Setting

• Use non-interlaced signals with a vertical refresh rate between 58-62Hz

• Do not use primary color blue on a dark background, as it is difficult to see and may produce eye fatigue to insufficient contrast

Attaching LCD Options

You can attach mounting accessories to the LCD monitor in one of the following two ways:

1. In the upright position

Tabletop Stand

To avoid damaging the screen face, place the protective sheet on the table to lay the LCD on. The protective sheet was wrapped around the LCD in the original packaging.

This device cannot be used or installed without the Tabletop Stand or other mounting accessory. For proper installation it is strongly recommended to use a trained, NEC authorized service person. Failure to follow NEC standard mounting procedures could result in damage to the equipment or injury to the user or installer. Product warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation. Failure to follow these recommendations could result in voiding your warranty.

To avoid falling down

Fasten the LCD monitor to a wall using a cord or chain which is sufficient to support the weight of the LCD monitor (approx. 28kg).

When using mounting accessories, other than NEC compliant and approved, they must be VESA strongly recommends using screws M6 size and 8mm in length. Switches the power on/off. See also page 18.

MUTE button

Switches the audio mute ON/OFF.

INPUT button

Acts as SET button with OSM menu. Selects the signal connected with the RGB input connector. (Toggle switches between [RGB1], [RGB2], [RGB3], [DVD/HD], or [VIDEO].)

PLUS (+) button

Acts as (+) button to increase the adjustment with OSM menu. Increase the audio output level when the OSM menu is turned off.

Button Location

DOWN ( ) button

Activates the OSM menu when the OSM menu is turned-off. Acts as button to move the highlighted area down to select the adjustment with OSM menu.

EXIT button

Activates the OSM menu when the OSM menu is turned-off. Acts as EXIT button to move to previous menu with OSM menu.

Remote control sensor and Power indicator

Receives the signal from the remote control (when using the wireless remote control). See also page 8. Glows green when the LCD monitor is in active and glows red when the LCD is in POWER OFF mode. When the LCD is in power save mode, it will glow both green and red.

MINUS (-) button

Acts as (-) button to decrease the adjustment with OSM menu. Decrease the audio output level when the OSM menu is turned off.

UP ( ) button

Activates the OSM menu when the OSM menu is turned-off. Acts as button to move the highlighted area up to select the adjustment with OSM menu.

Main Power Switch

Seesaw Switch for the main power on/off.

Control Key Lock Mode

This control completely locks out access to all Control Key functions after three (3) seconds. To activate the control key lock function, press both of “ “ and “ “ and hold down simultaneously. To resume back to user mode, press both “ “ and “ “ and hold simultaneously for three (3) seconds.

Operating Range for the Remote Control

Point the top of the remote control toward the LCD monitor's remote sensor during button operation. Use the remote control within a distance of about 7 m/23 ft. from the front of the LCD monitor's remote control sensor and at a horizontal and vertical angle of within 30° within a distance of about 3 m/10 ft.

Caution

The remote control system may not function when direct sunlight or strong illumination strikes the remote control sensor of the LCD monitor, or when there is an object in the path.

Handling the remote control

* Other than to install the batteries, do not open the remote.

Do not allow water or other liquid to splash onto the remote

control. If the remote control gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.

* Avoid exposure to heat and steam.

Setup Procedure

1. Determine the installation location

CAUTION

Installing your LCD display must be done by a qualified technician. Contact your dealer for more information.

CAUTION

MOVING OR INSTALLING THE LCD MONITOR MUST BE DONE BY TWO OR MORE PEOPLE. Failure to follow this caution may result in injury if the LCD monitor falls.

IMPORTANT

Lay the protective sheet, which was wrapped around the LCD monitor when it was packaged, beneath the LCD monitor so as not to scratch the panel.

2. Install the remote control batteries

The remote control is powered by 1.5V AA batteries. To install or replace batteries:

1. Press and slide to open the cover.

2. Align the batteries according to the (+) and (–) indications inside the case.

3. Replace the cover.

CAUTION

Incorrect usage of batteries can result in leaks or bursting. NEC recommends the following battery use:

• Place "AA" size batteries matching the + and - signs on each battery to the + and - signs of the battery compartment.

• Do not mix battery brands.

• Do not combine new and old batteries. This can cause a shorten

life or liquid leakage of batteries.

• Remove dead batteries immediately to prevent battery acid from leaking into the battery compartment. Don't touch exposed battery acid, it cause damage to your skin. NOTE: If you do not intend to use the Remote Control for a long period, remove the batteries.

3. Connect external equipment (See page 11-17)

• To protect the connected equipment, turn off the main power before making connections.

• Refer to your equipment user manual.

4. Connect the supplied power cord

• The equipment should be installed close to a power outlet and should be easily accessible.

• Fully insert the prongs into the power outlet socket. Loose connection may cause image degradation. NOTE: If you use this monitor at AC 220-240V, please refer to “Safety Precautions, Maintenance & Recommended Use” section of this manual for proper selection of AC power cord.

5. Switch on the power of all the attached external equipment

When connected with a computer, switch on the power of the computer first.

6. Operate the attached external equipment

Display the signal on the external equipment you wish.

7. Adjust the sound

Make adjustments when adjustment of the volume is required.

8. Adjust the screen (See pages 20-28)

Make adjustments when adjustment of the screen display position.

9. Adjust the image (See page 20-28)

Make adjustments when picture adjustment such as the brightness or contrast is required.

10. When monitor is installed in the portrait position

• Remove the stand (feet).

• Turn monitor counter-clockwise, so the right edge of the LCD is

at the top.

How to remove the stand

1. Spread the protective sheet on the flat surface, such as a desk.

2. Place monitor on the protective sheet.

3. Remove 2 screws by screwdriver and place them in a safe place for reuse.

How to install stand

1. Please turn monitor off.

2. Insert claws of monitor to stand holes until clicks.

3. Fasten 2 screws(M5 x 40mm) on both sides of the monitor. Torque 280 ~ 300N•cm.

Attaching the Ferrite Core

Attach the Ferrite Core to PC Audio Cable and S-VIDEO Cable. Use of the cable without mounting the ferrite core will result in the occurrence of noise.

• For PC Audio Cable

Open the ferrite core and clamp

Connecting the LCD Monitor to a PC

Connecting your computer to your LCD monitor will enable you to display your computer's screen image. Some video cards may not display an image correctly.

• To connect the RGB 2 IN connector (mini D-sub 15 pin) on the LCD monitor, use the provided RGB signal cable (mini D-sub 15 pin to mini D-sub 15 pin).

• To connect the RGB 3 DVD/HD IN connector (BNC) on the LCD monitor, use a signal cable (mini D-sub 15 pin to BNC x 5). Select RGB 3 from the INPUT button. When connecting one or more LCD monitors, use the RGB OUT connector (BNC).

• The AUDIO IN 1, 2 and 3 can be used for audio input. For connection, select AUDIO 1, 2 or 3 from the AUDIO INPUT button.

Connecting to a Macintosh® Computer

Connecting your Macintosh® computer to your LCD monitor will enable you to display your computer's screen image. Some video cards or drivers may not display images correctly.

• To connect the RGB 2 IN connector (mini D-sub 15 pin) on the LCD monitor, use the provided RGB signal cable (mini D-sub 15 pin to mini D-sub 15 pin). For older Macintosh NOTE: To obtain the Macintosh cable adapter call NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America, Inc. at (800) 632-4662

• To connect the RGB 3 DVD/HD IN connector (BNC) on the LCD monitor, use the signal cable available separately (mini D-sub 15 pin to BNC x 5).

• If you use with a Macintosh PowerBook, set "Mirroring" to off. Refer to your Macintosh's owner's manual for more information about your computer's video output requirements and any special identification or configuring your monitor's image and monitor may require.

• The AUDIO IN 1, 2 and 3 can be used for audio input. For connection, select AUDIO 1, 2 or 3 from the AUDIO INPUT button.

Connecting to a Computer with a Digital Output

Connections can be made with equipment that is equipped with a digital interface compliant with the DVI (Digital Visual Interface) standard.

• The RGB 1 IN connector also accepts a DVI-D cable.

• Input TMDS signals conforming to DVI standards.

• To maintain display quality, use a cable recommended by DVI standards.

• The AUDIO IN 1, 2 and 3 can be used for audio input. For connection, select AUDIO 1, 2 or 3 from the AUDIO INPUT button.

Connecting to a VCR or Laser Disc Player

Connecting your VCR or laser disc player to your LCD monitor will enable you to display your VCR or laser disc player video. Refer to your VCR or laser disc player owner's manual for more information.

• Video signals can be connected to either the VIDEO IN [RCA or BNC] or the S-VIDEO IN connector. NOTE: If S-VIDEO and RCA are both connected, S-VIDEO will have priority.

• Video output will be from the OUT connector that has been set here.

• When connecting one or more LCD monitors, use the VIDEO OUT connectors (BNC).

• The AUDIO IN 2 and 3 can be both used for audio input. For connection, select [AUDIO 2] or [AUDIO 3] from the AUDIO INPUT

button.

Connecting to a DVD Player

Connecting your DVD player to your LCD monitor will enable you to display your DVD video. Refer to your DVD player owner’s manual for more information.

• To connect the RGB 3 DVD/HD In connector (BNC) on the LCD monitor, use a separately available BNC connector cable. You will need a BNC-to-RCA adapter to connect a DVD player with an RCA pin jack to the BNC connector cable (not provided). Some DVD players may have different connectors, such as Cr/Pr, Y and Cb/Pb. Select [DVD/HD] input mode from the INPUT button. When connecting one or more LCD monitors, use the RGB 3 OUT connectors (BNC). The AUDIO IN 2 and 3 (both RCA) can be used for audio input. For connection, select [AUDIO 2] or [AUDIO 3] from the AUDIO INPUT button.

Connecting to a Stereo Amplifier

You can connect your stereo amplifier to your LCD monitor. Refer to your amplifier owner's manual for more information.

• Turn on the LCD monitor and the amplifier only after all hookups have been made.

• Use an RCA cable to connect the AUDIO OUT connector (RCA) on the LCD monitor and the audio input on the amplifier.

• Do not reverse the audio left and right jacks.

• The AUDIO IN 3 used for audio input.

• The AUDIO OUT jack outputs sound for the AUDIO IN 3 only.

Basic Operation –Power ON and OFF Modes

The LCD monitor power indicator will turn green while powered on or red in off mode. The monitor can be powered on or off using the following three options:

When Using Power Management Function

The LCD monitor follows the VESA approved DPMS Power Management function. The power management function is an energy saving function that automatically reduces the power consumption of the display when the keyboard or the mouse has not been used for a fixed period of time.

Using the LCD with a Personal Computer (PC)

This LCD monitor can be controlled by connecting a personal computer with a RS-232C terminal. Functions that can be controlled by a personal computer are:

3) Control sequence

(1) The command from a personal computer to the LCD monitor will be sent in 400ms. (2) The LCD monitor will send a return command 400ms* after it has received an encode. If the command isn't

received correctly, the LCD monitor will not send the return command.

(3) The personal computer checks the command and confirms if the command which has been sent has been

executed or not.

(4) This LCD monitor sends various codes other than return code. When having a control sequence by RS-232C,

reject other codes from personal computers side.

*: The sending time of return command may delay depending on the condition (during changing of the

input signal, etc.).

Troubleshooting

No picture

• The signal cable should be completely connected to the display card/computer.

• The display card should be completely seated in its slot.

• Front Power Switch and computer power switch should be in the ON position.

• Check to make sure that a supported mode has been selected on the display card or system being used. (Please consult display card or

system manual to change graphics mode.)

• Check the monitor and your display card with respect to compatibility and recommended settings.

• Check the signal cable connector for bent or pushed-in pins.

Power Button does not respond

• Unplug the power cord of the monitor from the AC outlet to turn off and reset the monitor.

Image persistence

• Image persistence is when a residual or “ghost” image of a previous image remains visible on the screen. Unlike CRT monitors, LCD monitors image persistence is not permanent, but constant images being displayed for a long period of time should be avoided. To alleviate image persistence, turn off the monitor for as long as the previous image was displayed. For example, if an image was on the monitor for one hour and a residual image remains, the monitor should be turned off for one hour to erase the image.

NOTE: As with all personal display devices, NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display recommends using a moving screen saver at regular intervals whenever the screen is idle or turning off the monitor when not in use.

Image is unstable, unfocused or swimming is apparent

• Signal cable should be completely attached to the computer.

• Use the OSM screen controls to focus and adjust display by increasing or decreasing the clock phase total. When the display mode is

changed, the OSM Image Adjust settings may need to be readjusted.

• Check the monitor and your display card with respect to compatibility and recommended signal timings.

• If your text is garbled, change the video mode to non-interlace and use 60Hz refresh rate.

Image of component signal is greenish

• Check to see if the DVD/HD input connector is selected.

LED on monitor is not lit (no green or red color can be seen)

• Power Switch should be in the ON position and power cord should be connected.

• Make certain the computer is not in a power-saving mode (touch the keyboard or mouse).

Display image is not sized properly

• Use the OSM screen controls to increase or decrease the clock total.

• Check to make sure that a supported mode has been selected on the display card or system being used. (Please consult display card or

system manual to change graphics mode.)

Selected resolution is not displayed properly

• Use OSM information to enter Information menu and confirm that the appropriate resolution has been selected. If not, select corresponding option.

No Sound

• Check to see if speaker cable is properly connected.

• Check to see if mute is activated.

• Check to see if volume is set at minimum.

Remote Control is not available

• Test the Remote Control’s batteries for strength/life.

• Check if the batteries are inserted correctly.

• Check if the Remote Control is pointed at the monitor’s remote sensor.

Light vertical or horizontal stripes may appear depending on different display patterns. This is no product fault or degradation.

Utiliser les câbles spécifiés fournis avec les moniteurs couleur LCD4000e (L403FU) afin de ne pas provoquer d’interférences avec la réception radio et télévision. (1)

Prière d’utiliser le câble d’alimentation fourni ou équivalent pour assurer la conformité FCC. (2) Câble d’interface blindé. (3) Veuillez fixer les noyaux de ferrite sur les câbles audio et S-VIDEO. Veuillez vous référer à la page 12 de ce manuel.

Consignes de sécurité et d’entretien

POUR UN FONCTIONNEMENT OPTIMAL, VEUILLEZ RESPECTER LES INDICATIONS SUIVANTES SUR LE RÉGLAGE ET L’UTILISATION DU MONITEUR LCD COULEUR LCD4000e :

• N’OUVREZ JAMAIS LE BOÏTIER DU MONITUR. Aucune pièce interne ne peut être réparé et l’ouverture ou la dépose des capots peut vous exposer á des risques de décharges électriques ou autres. Confiez toutes les interventions de dépannage à un personnel technique qualifié.

• Ne renversez pas de liquides dans le moniteur et ne l’utilisez pas près d’une source d’eau.

• N’introduisez pas d’objets de quelque nature que ce soit dans les fentes du boîtier car ceux-ci pourraient toucher des endroits sous tension dangereuse, ce qui peut provoquer des blessures, voire être fatal, ou peut occasionner une décharge électrique, un incendie ou une panne de l’appareil.

• Ne placez pas d’objets lourds sur le cordon d’alimentation. Un cordon endommagé peut occasionner une décharge électrique ou un incendie.

• Ne placez pas cet appareil sur un chariot, un support ou une table inclinés ou instables, car si le moniteur tombe, il peut être sérieusement endommagé.

• Pour utiliser le moniteur LCD4000e avec son alimentation 220240V alternatif, employez un cordon d’alimentation qui correspond à la tension d’alimentation de la prise de courant alternatif utilisée. Le cordon d’alimentation utilisé doit être agréé et en conformité avec les normes de sécurité de votre pays. (Le type H05VV-F 3G 1 mm doit être utilisé en Europe)

• Au Royaume Uni, utilisez avec ce moniteur un cordon d’alimentation approuvé BS avec une prise moulée équipée d’un fusible noir (13A). Si un cordon d’alimentation n’a pas été fourni avec ce moniteur, veuillez contacter votre fournisseur.

• Ne placez aucun objet sur le moniteur et ne l’utilisez pas en extérieur.

• L’intérieur du tube fiourescent situé dans le moniteur LCD contient du mercure. Conformez-vous aux lois ou à la réglementation de votre localité pour vous débarrasser de ce tube.

• Ne pliez pas le cordon d’alimentation.

• N’utilisez pas votre moniteur dans des endroits à hautes températures, humides, poussiéreux ou huileux.

• Manipulez le moniteur avec précaution dans le cas de bris de verre.

• N’obstruez pas les aérations du moniteur.

• Si le moniteur est cassé ou si du verre est brisé, ne touchez pas le cristal liquide, et manipulez le moniteur avec précaution.

• Prévoyez une aération suffisante autour du moniteur pour que la chaleur puisse se dissiper correctement. N’obstruez pas les ouvetures de ventilation et ne placez pas le moniteur près d’un radiateur ou d’une autre source de chaleur. Ne posez rien sur le moniteur.

• La prise du cordon d’alimentation est le moyen principal de débrancher le systéme de l’alimentation électrique. Le moniteur doit être installé à proximité d’une prise de courant facilement accessible.

• Manipulez avec soin lors du transport. Conservez l’emballage pour le transport.

• Veiller à tenir propres de toute saleté et poussière les trous situés à l’arrière de l’écran LCD. ll est recommandé d’essuyer les trous avec un chiffon doux au minium une fois par an.

ATTENTION

Débranchez immédiatement le monitieur de la prise murale et confiez la réparation à du personnel quafié dans les cas suivants:

• Si le codon d’alimentation ou la prise est endommagé(e).

• Si du liquide a été renversé ou si des objets sont tombés à l’intérieur du moniteur.

• Si le moniteur a été exposé à la pluie ou à de l’eau.

• Si le moniteur est tombé ou si le boîtier est endommagé.

• Si le moniteur ne fonctionne pas normalement en suivant les directives d’utilisation.

Conseils d’utilisation ATTENTION

UNE POSITION ET UN RÉGLAGE CORRECTS DU MONITEUR PEUVENT RÉDUIRE LA FATIGUE DES YEUX, DES ÉPAULES ET DE LA NUQUE. APPLIQUEZ CE QUI SUIT POUR POSITIONNER LE MONITEUR:

• Pour une performance optimale, laissez le moniteur chauffer pendant 20 minutes.

• Reposez vos yeux régulièrement en regardant un objet situé à au moins 609,60cm. Clignez souvent des yeux.

• Placez le moniteur à un angle de 90˚ par rapport aux fenêtres et autres sources de lumière pour réduire au maximum les reflets et l’éblouissement.

• Nettoyez le moniteur LCD avec un chiffon sans peluches et non abrasif. N’utilisez pas de solution de nettoyage ou de nettoyant pour vitres.

• Réglez les commandes de luminosité et de contraste du moniteur pour améliorer la lisibilité.

• Evitez d’afficher des motifs sur l’écran pendant de longues périodes pour éviter la rémanence (persistance de l’image).

• Consultez régulièrement un ophtalmologiste.

• La lampe rétroéclairante contient du mercure. Veuillez la manipuler de manière appropriée en cas de mise au rebut.

Ergonomie

Pour obtenir l’ergonomie maximale, nous recommndons ce qui suit:

• Utilisez les commandes de taille et de position préréglées avec des signaux standard.

• Utilisez le réglage couleur préprogrammé.

• Utilisez des signaux non entrelacés avec une fréquence de rafraîchissement vertical de 58 à 62 Hz.

• N’utilisez pas du bleu primare sur un fond sombre carcelarend la lecture difficile et peut occasionner une fatigue oculaire due à l’insuffisance du contraste.

Comment monter et brancher des accessoires au moniteur

Vous pouvez brancher des accessoires de montage sur le moniteur en vous y prenant de l’une des maniéres suivantes:

Etalez en dessous du moniteur la feuille de protection qui l’entourait dans la boîte, de maniére á éviter les rayures de l’écran.

Cet appareil ne peut être utilisé ou installé sans le support ou sans d’autre accessoire de montage. La non-observation des bonnes procédures de montage peut endommager le matériel ou blesser l’utilisateur ou l’installateur. La garantie du produit ne couvre pas les dommages causés par une installation incorrecte. La nonobservation de ces directives peut annuler votre garantie.

Lorsqu’il est utilisé avec un autre accessoire de montage, ce dernier doit être compatible VESA et les vis doivent être de format M6, avoir une longueur de 8 mm ou plus en fonction de l’èpaisseur du systéme de montage.(Torsion recommandée : de 274 á 362N cm)

Réactive le menu OSM lorsque celui-ci est désactivé. Joue dans le menu OSM le rôle de bouton EXIT pour revenir au menu précédent.

Capteur de la télécommande et indicateur

d’alimentation

Reçoit le signal de la télécommande (lorsqu’on utilise la télécommande sans-fil). Voir également page 8. Vert fix lorsque le moniteur est en activité, rouge fixe lorsqu’il est hors tension, et vert et rouge fixes lorsqu’il est en mode Économie d’énerqie.

Bouton HAUT ( )

Réactive le menu OSM lorsque celui-ci est désactivé. Joue dans le menu OSM le rôle de bouton pour déplacer vers le haut la zone en surbrillance et sélectionner le réglage.

Mode de verrouillage des touches de commande

Cette commande bloque totalement l’accès à toutes les fonctions de commande. Pour activer le verrouillage des touches de commande, enfoncez en même temps deux boutons pendant plus de 3 secondes. Pour revenir en mode utilisateur, enfoncez en même temps deux boutons pendant plus de 3 secondes.

Installation

1. Choix de l’emplacement du moniteur

ATTENTION :

L’installation de l’écran doit être effectuée par un technicien qualifié. Prenez contact avec votre revendeur.

ATTENTION :IL FAUT AU MOINS DEUX PERSONNES POUR DEPLACER OU INSTALLER LE MONITEUR.

La non-observation de ces précautions risque de provoquer des blessures en cas de chute du moniteur.

IMPORTANT : Etalez en dessous du moniteur la feuille de protec-

tion qui l’entourait dans la boîte, de manière à éviter les rayures du panneau.

2. Installtion des piles de télécommande

La télécommande est alimentée par des piles AA de 1,5V. pour installer ou changer les piles:

1. Appuyez sur le couvercle et faites-le glisser pour l’ouvrir.

2. Alignez les piles à l’intérieur du boîtier en respectant les indications (+) et (-).

3. Remettez le couvercle en place.

REMARQUE : Si vous utilisez ce moniteur à AC220-240V, s’il vous

5. Mise sous tension tous les matériels externes connectés au moniteur

Lorsque vous connectez le moniteur à un ordinateur, allumez ce dernier en premier.

6. Utiliser l’équipement externe périphérique

Afficher le signal sur l’équipement externe souhaité.

7. Réglage du son

Réglez le volume lorsque c’est nécessaire.

8. Réglage de l’écran (voir pages 20 à 28)

Régliez l’affichage ou la distorsion lorsque c’est nécessaire.

9. Réglage de l’image (voir pages 20 à 28)

Régliez l’image (luminosité ou contraste) lorsque c’est nécessaire.

10. En cas de position portait

• Retirez le support.

• Tournez le moniteur dans le sens contraire des aiguilles d’une montre, de manière à ce que bord droit du LCD soit orienté vers le haut.

ATTENTION : Une mauvaise utilisation des piles peut provoquer des

fuites ou un éclatement.

Respectez particulièrement les consignes suivantes :

• Placez les piles “AA” en faisant correspondre les signes + et des piles avec ceux gravés à l’intérieur du boîtier.

• Ne mélangez pas des piles de différents types.

• N’utilisez pas en même temps des piles neuves et des piles usagées. Cela dimunuerait la durée des piles neuves et des fuites.

• Retirez immédiatement les piles mortes pour éviter les fuites de liquide alcalin dans bôtier.

Ne touchez pas le liquide qui a ful ; il est dangereux pour

l’épiderme.

REMARQUE : Retirez les piles si vous prévoyez de ne pas utiliser la

télécommande pendant une longue période.

3. Connexion de matériel externe

• Pour protéger le matériel que vous connectez, mettez-le hors tension avant d’effectuer des branchements.

• Consultez la documentation accompagnant ce matériel.

4. Branchement du cordon d’alimentation

• La prise électrique doit être installée le plus près possible du mateeriel et doit être facilement accessible.

• Enfoncez complètement l’extreemité du cordon dans la prise. Une connexion mal assurée risque de provoquer du bruit.

Comment retirer le support

1. Etalez la feuille de protection sur une surface plane, un bureau par exemple.

2. Placez le moniteur sur la feuille de protection.

3. Avec un tournevis, retireez deux vis de chaque support et

mettez-les de côté pour les réutiliser ultérieuement.

La conexion au moniteur d’un lecteur de DVD vous permettra d’afficher la vidéo de vos DVD. Consultez la documentation de votre lecteur de DVD.

• Pour connecter la prise RVB 3 DVD/HD ln (BNC) du moniteur, procurez-vous un câble de connexion BNC. Vous aurez besoin de vous procurer un adaptateur BNC-RCA pour connecter au câble BNC un lecteur de DVD doté d’un jack RCA à broches. Certains lecteurs de DVD peuvent comporter des prises différentes (Cr/Pr, Y et Cb/Pb). Sélectionnez le mode d’entrée [DVD/HD] à partir du bouton INPUT. L’indicateur d’alimentation du moniteur passe au vert lorsque ce dernier est sous tension, et au rouge lorsque le moniteur est en mode ARRÊT. ll existe trois maniéres d’allumer et d’éteindre le moniteur.

Il est possible de choisir parmi les options suivantes la taille de l’image insérée en mode Image dans image (IDI) : « GRAND », « MOYEN », « PETIT » et « IDI DISTANT ».

Sélection de la source sonore en mode IDI. AUDIO PRINCIPAL vous permet de sélectionner la source sonore de l’image principale, et AUDIO IDI celle de l’image insérée.

Cette option permet de restaurer tous les réglages OSM relatifs au mode IDI.

Sélectionnez Oui puis appuyez sur le bouton SET(fixer) pour restaurer les réglages par défaut.

Sélection de la marche/arrêt de l’économie d’énergie.

Les menus des commandes OSM sont disponibles en sept langues.

Dans le menu Durée OSM, vous pouvez sélectionner pendant combien de temps les informations OSM

resteront af fichées après que vous aurez appuyé sur la touche Affichage. La durée d’affichage possible est comprise entre 3 et 30 secondes.

Pour sélectionner la marche/arrêt du programmateur d’arrêt. Dans le menu PROGRAMMATEUR ARRÊT, vous pouvez sélectionner au bout de combien de temps après la mise sous tension le moniteurs’éteindra. La durée possible est comprise entre 1 et 24 heures.

Pour sélectionner le mode ÉCONOMISEUR ÉCRAN, sélectionnez MARCHE/ARRÊT.

En choisissant Oui, vous pouvez restaurer les réglages de toutes les commandes OSM aux réglages par défaut.

Sélection de la source sonore en mode IDI. AUDIO PRINCIPAL vous permet de sélectionner la source sonore de l’image principale, et AUDIO IDI celle de l’image insérée.

Cette option permet de restaurer tous les réglages OSM relatifs au mode IDI.

Pour sélectionner le mode ÉCONOMISEUR ÉCRAN, sélectionnez MARCHE/ARRÊT.

Le choix du système de couleur dépend du format de votre vidéo en entrée.

Cette option permet de réinitaliser tous les réglages de configuration.

Il est possible de contrôler ce moniteur LCD en lui connectant un ordinateur doté d’une interface RS-232C. Un ordinateur peut contrôler les fonctions suivantes :

3) Séquence de contrôle (1) La commande sera envoyée d’un ordinateur au moniteur LCD dans les 400 ms. (2) Le moniteur LCD retournera une commande 400 ms* après avoir reçu et exécuté un code. En cas de mauvaise

réception de la commande, le moniteur n’émettra pas de commande de retour. (3) L’ordinateur vérifie la commande et confirme si la commande envoyée a bien été exécutée. (4) Le moniteur envoie d’autres codes que le code de retour. Lors de l’utilisation de la séquence de contrôle via RS-232C,

le rejet des autres codes du côté de l’ordinateur est nécessaire.

DVI-D: Le sous-ensemble tout numérique de DVI validé par le groupe de travail sur l’affichange numérique (DDWG) pour les connexions numériques entre les ordinateurs et les écrans. En tant que connecteur purement numérique, la prise en charge analogique n’est pas assurée avec un connecteur DVI-D. En tant que connexion purement numérique basée sur DVI, un adaptateur simple suffit à assurer la compatibilité entre des connecteurs DVI-D et d’autres connecteurs numériques basés sur DVI tels que DFP et P&D.

Résolution des problémes

Pas d’image

• Le câble vidéo doit être correctement connecté à la carte graphique et à l’ordinateur.

• La carte graphique doit être insérée à fond dans san logement.

• Les interrupteurs d’alimentation situés à l’avant du moniteur et sur l’ordinateur doivent être en position MARCHE.

• Vérifiez qu’un mode d’afichage autorisé a été sélectionné pour la carte graphique ou le systéme utilisé.

(Veuillez consulter le manuel de votre carte graphique ou de votre systéme pour modifier le mode graphique.)

• Vérifiez la compatibilité et les paramétres recommandés de votre moniteur et de votre carte graphique.

• Vérifiez que le connecteur du câble de signal vidéo ne comporte aucune broche tordue ou enfoncée.

Le bouton d’alimentation ne répond pas

• Débranchez le cordon d’alimentation du moniteur de la prise murale CA pour éteindre et réinitialiser le moniteur.

Persistance de l’image

• La persistance de l’image se manifeste lorsqu’une image résiduelle ou “ fantôme “ d’une image précédemment affichée reste visible sur l’écran. Contrairement aux moniteurs à tube cathodique, la persistance de l’image sur les moniteurs LCD n’est pas permanente, mais l’on doit éviter d’afficher des images immobiles pendant une longue période de temps. Pourremédier à la persistance de l’image, mettez le moniteur hors tension pendant une durée égale à celle de l’affichage de l’image précédemment affichée. Par exemple, si une image est restée affichée sur l’écran pendant une heure et qu’il reste une image résiduelle, le moniteur doit être mis hors tension pendant une heure pour effacer l’image.

REMAQUE: Comme pour tous les équipents d’affichage personnels, NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display recommande d’utiliser à intervalles réguliers un économiseur d’écran animé chaque fois l’écran est veille, ou d’éteindre le moniteur lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé.

L’image défile, est floue ou moirée

• Vérifiez que le câble vidéo est correctement connecté à l’ordinateur.

• Utilisez les touches de réglage d’image OSM pour mettre au point et régler l’affichage en augmentant ou en diminuant la valeur de finesse. Aprés un changement de mode d’affichage, les paramétres de réglage d’image OSM peuvent demander un réajustement.

• Vérifiez la compatibilité et les paramètres recommandés de votre moniteur et de votre carte graphique.

• Si votre texte est altéré, passez en mode vidéo non entrelacé et utilisez un taux de rafraîchissement de 60 Hz.

L’image du signal sur le composant est verdâtre

• Vérifiez si la prise d’entrée DVD/HD est bien sélectionnée.

Le voyant sur le monteur n’est pas allumé (aucune couleur, verte ou orange, n’est visible)

• Vérifiez si l’interrupteur d’alimentation est en position MARCHE et si le cordon d’alimentation est connecté.

• Assurez-vous que l’ordinateur n’est pas en mode d’économie d’énergie (touchez le clavier ou la souris).

L’image n’est pas à la bonne taille

• Utilisez les touches de réglage d’image OSM pour augmenter ou diminuer la trame.

• Vérifiez qu’un mode d’affichage autorisé a été sélectionné pour la carte graphique ou le systéme utilisé. (Veuillez consulter le manuel de votre carte graphique ou de votre systéme pour modifier le mode graphique.)

La résolution choisie ne s’affiche pas correctement

• Utilisez le mode d’affichage OSM pour entrer dans le menu information et vérifiez que la bonne résolution a bien été sélectionnée. Sinon, choisissez l’option correspondante.

Pas de son

• Vérifiez pue le câble des haut-parleurs est correctement branché.

• Vérifier que la sourdine n’est pas activée.

• Vérifiez pue le volume n’est pas réglé au minimum.

La télécommande ne répond pas

• Vérifiez l’état des piles de la télécommande.

• Vérifiez pue les piles sont correctement insérées.

• Vérifiez que la télécommande pointe bien vers le capteur du moniteur.

Des rayures claires horizontales ou verticales risquent d’apparaître, selon le motif d’affichage. Ce n’est pas dû à un défaut ou une dégradation du produit.
