This section contains advisories on the disk drive
carrier, RAID configuration drivers, and on-board
Adaptec controllers.
When installing or removing a hard disk drive it is
■
recommended that its carrier handle be left in a
straight outward position, until either the c arrier is
fully seated in its connector or removed from the
drive bay. To move a hard disk driv e in or out of a
bay the outside edges of the carrier's front panel
should be used.

RAID
The follow ing adviso ry applies to M C2200 systems that
include th e NEC SecuRAID 210 ( Mylex® Ac celeRAID™
250) RAID Contro ller:
If your system includes the NEC SecuRAID 210
■
(Mylex AcceleRAID 250) RAI D controlle r, the OS/ 2
RAID driver is located on the E
CD-ROM in "DAC960 Software Kit V1.07 for O S/2."
The GAM client and server version for OS/2 is
■
V2.11.
If your EXPRESSBUILDER is Version 2.4, you can get
a later version of the OS/2 software from your vendor.
On-Board Adaptec Controllers
If you are running OS/2 and disable the onboard
■
Adaptec 7880 con troller, th e OS/2 Adaptec dr iver
will display the followin g message whe n started:
"Error: Adapter not su pport by this v ersion of the
driver (C0103083h)". This me ssage can be ig nored.
It is caused by the driv er not being able to in itialize
the 7880 contr oller because it is disabled, but not
because the driver doesn't support it. It doesn't
effect the initialization of the o nboard Adaptec 7860
controller.
