The Express5800/180Ra-7 is designed to deliver
scalable performance for the most demanding enterpr ise
and data center environments.The server employs
advanced Pentium®III Xeon™processors with 1
or 2MB of L2 cache.As computing and storage needs
grow, the Express5800/180Ra-7 can be easily and
cost-effectively upgraded from a 4-way to an 8-way
system with plug-in modules. Developed for missioncritical applications, both commercial and industrial,
the Express5800/180Ra-7 offers unsurpassed 4-way
TPC-H processing on a 100GB database, as confirmed
by benchmark testing in April 2000 by the Transaction

Express5800/180Ra-7 offers hot-swap disk drives,
hot-plug PCI slots, redundant hot-swap cooling fans
and power supplies to maximize server uptime and

Ultra160 controller and 64-bit/66MHz PCI slots help
ensure outstanding I/O performance and throughput
to meet the demands of enterprise computing.The
Express5800/180Ra-7 supports a complete range of
Ultra160 disk drives and RAID boards for transfer
rates up to 160MB/second.
REMOTE MANAGEMENT FOR OPTIMUM TOC
The Express5800/180Ra-7 optimizes Total Cost of
Ownership (TCO) with hardware-integrated remote
management capabilities.This built-in solution provides
remote emergency access and control of server resources
via a LAN or standard modem connection.A Management
Workstation Application (MWA) enables critical actions
such as remote power control, remote Event Log access
or remote console re-direction, regardless of the state of
the operating system or the network. Such a capability
is an advancement over expensive remote management
add-in cards often found with competitive systems.
EXCEPTIONAL EXPANDABILITY
The Express5800/180Ra-7 provides for expansion
through 10 hot-plug PCI slots and 16GB of ECC
SDRAM memory in 16 DIMM sockets.The system is
available either as a high-density tower unit, including a
3U disk expansion unit (8 x 1" bays), or as a rack-mount
chassis (7U) with 2 internal 1" disk drives. Flexible
packaging is available in three rack size options (42U,
36U,27U.)
