Congratulations on your purchase of the finest motorcycle helmet communication system available. You will find it to be an indispensable communication tool. It will enable the most convenient use of your FRS/GMRS 2-way radio or mobile phone while riding a motorcycle or snowmobile. Please make sure that all the components pictured are included, as well as the velcro pieces for mounting as noted in this installation guide.
Note: this system is for closed face helmet use only. For open face helmets you must use the HTCS-3O system. Adapter (jumper) cables are provided to enable operation of this system with virtually all FRS/GMRS radios and most mobile phones (may require purchase of additional adapters). The radio and/or mobile phone are not included.
Closed Face Helmet Communication System for Motorcycles
Note: this Helmet Talk™ system is designed for use only external headset jacks and internal VOX (voice activated operation). It can also be used with any mobile phone with an external headset jack that can be connected to one of cables and adapters provided.
1) Handlebar Mount PTT (Push-to-Talk) Switch — Mounts as
shown with velcro strap for easy access while riding. Depress and hold button while speaking (transmitting). Release to listen.
2) 4 Pin DIN Quick Connectors — Allows easy connect/disconnect when mounting/dismounting your motorcycle.
3) 6 Pin DIN Quick Connectors — Allows quick connect/disconnect of headset assembly.
4) Dual Earpad Speakers — Dual earpad speakers provided. If only single pad is desired, 2nd speaker can be removed by simply cutting as shown (see illustration). Mount speaker pad(s) to inside of helmet next to ears with velcro tape provided.
5) Closed-Face Helmet Microphone — Mount with velcro tabs provided to inside of closed face helmet as close to mouth as possible.
6) Standard 3.5 mm Male Stereo Plug — Most common connector for use with most FRS/GMRS two-way radios, and some mobile phones. Use proper adapter cable provided if needed for connection.

7) Adapter Cables — Choice of 3 adapter cables provide connection to virtually all FRS/GMRS radios and most mobile phones. Try each as necessary till proper connection is made and both mic and speakers are operational.
A) Jumper Cable (Standard 2.5 mm stereo male plug) B) Jumper Cable (Dual male mono plug) C) Jumper Cable (Reversed polarity 2.5 mm male stereo extended length plug) If your unit requires a 2.5 mm
or 3.5 mm plug with reverse polarity, you may require an additional 2.5 mm stereo female to male 2.5 mm or
3.5 mm stereo adapter, either easily available from any electronic parts dealer (RadioShack, Best Buy, etc.).
