Installation Instructions
DESCRIPTIONS
ROCK8G/ROCK8R speakers are 8”, two-way speakers constructed of
a fiberglass material. They are available in a gray granite and a red rust
finish. They are designed with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms and can
be used with amplifiers with a maximum power rating of 100 Watts.
ROCK45G speakers are 8", two-way speakers constructed of a
fiberglass material. They are available in a gray granite finish. They are
designed with a nominal impedance of 45 ohms and can be used with
amplifiers with a maximum power rating of 80 Watts.
ROCK speakers are roughly 19.5 inches long by 13.5 inches high by
13.25 inches deep and weigh 15.5 pounds. They are weather resistant
and can be placed near a pool or in your backyard.
FEATURES
All ROCK speakers come with a security hook for tie down. A cable
or thin chain should be looped through the hook and then buried in the
ground or attached to a permanent fixture.
SPEAKER CONNECTIONS
ROCK speakers have two lead wires insulated in a waterproof sleeve.
The red wire is positive and the black wire is negative. Remember
to connect the red wire from your speaker to the red wire from your
amplifier and black wire to black wire for best performance.
A two conductor direct burial wire can be used for connecting ROCK
speakers to your stereo. Standard speaker wire can be used, however it
must be buried in PVC conduit. Wire used for low voltage applications is
not suited for this application. Splices should be made inside a watertight
direct burial box or the conduit.
The gauge of wire used should correspond to the distance between
the ROCK8G/ROCK8R speakers and your system. Use 16 gauge for
distances up to fifty feet, 14 gauge for distances from fifty to one
hundred feet, 12 gauge from one hundred to two hundred feet, and 10
gauge for runs over two hundred feet.
