Operational Cautions for the Intrinsically Safe Battery
1. Do Not operate an FM Approved product in a Haz-
ardous Atmosphere if it has been Physically Dam-
aged (I.e. Cracked Housing)
2.Do not replace or change batteries or charge batter-
ies in a Hazardous Atmosphere.
3. Failure to use the radio with the specific approved
battery or accessories may result in a dangerous con-
dition.
4. Do not disassemble the product in any way that
would expose internal electrical circuits or wiring.
5.Repairs should only be completed by an approved
service center

IMPRES Battery
The IMPRES Battery and the radio have com-
puter chips that monitor the radio utilization
and charging operations. Insert the battery or
remove it by squeezing the battery latches and
pushing to lock or pulling to remove

IMPRES Battery Charging
The IMPRES Bank Charger and Adaptive Charger
will :
1. Monitor the usage pattern of the Battery
2.Store that information inside the Battery
3.Perform a Recondition Cycle Only when needed.
4. Will not overheat the battery regardless of how
long it is left in the charger.
5. Charger monitors the battery and automatically
“Tops Off” the battery as required.

IMPRES Battery Charger Indicators
Single Flash GREEN –Charger Has Powered Up
Steady RED –Battery is in Rapid Charge Mode
Flashing GREENBattery has completed rapid
Charge (>90% available capacity) OR Battery is
in Trickle Charge and Requires 1 Hour.
Steady GREENBattery if FULLY Charged.
Flashing YELLOW Battery is Waiting to Charge.
Flashing RED Battery is Not Chargeable or not
making Contact properly.
Steady YELLOWBattery is in Recondition Mode
and Requires up to 8 Hours to Complete.
Flashing RED and GREEN Battery is
Approaching its end of rated service life.

1. Turn on the Radio. Adjust the volume with
the On/Off Knob or the switch on the Lapel
Microphone.

2. Select the Proper ZONE . Top ABC Switch for the
First 3 Zones, then Side Bottom Buttons For
Remaining Zones. ZONE A is Primary West County
EMS and FIRE ZONE.
3. To return to Primary Zone A, either use Zone up or
Down buttons or Just Toggle ABC Switch back to A.

Knob 1-16. TALKGROUP 1 is CCE911 MAIN.
TALKGROUP 16 is V COMMAND A , which is Fire
Ground A.

11. St.Louis City ZONE/TALKGROUP
St.Louis City ZONE and Talkgroups are on 800Mhz.
When You switch to this ZONE, You will be on the St.
Louis City System. You have to be in the range of a
City Tower to Transmit. If in West County, It will
turn red and be out of Range.
A.Use the Radio as normal. When you depress the
PTT Button, You will hear 3 small beeps, Then pro-
ceed Talking.
B.If you hear a long BONK and see a Yellow Light, Re-
lease the PTT button and wait a second as the
Talkgroup is BUSY.
C.If you hear a busy tone, wait for three tones, then re-
lease and push the PTT Button and Transmit.

11. St.Louis City ZONE/TALKGROUP(Cont.)
D.There is a call timer that only allows you to speak
for 60 seconds. At 56 seconds you will hear a low
pitched warning tone followed by disconnection
from the Talkgroup. Just release the PTT and Push
again to reset and continue talking.
E. If you select a DIRECT Talkgroup, you will be
communicating from Radio to Radio and not
through a Tower. The Direct Icon will appear in
800 Mhz. Operations.

12. Turn Radio OFF and put back in the charger ready
for next use.
