Level of Repair: All
Problem
Through continued analysis of the CE connector and its field failure modes, it has been determined that
a significant amount of fallout is due to foreign material on the contacts of the connector.
Solution
Tests have proven that a dry brush method will effectively clean the CE contact surface in most foreign
material related cases.

(For units & accessories with CE connector related complaints)
• While having a battery connected, plug in the appropriate corresponding charger and verify the
connector is working by noting “Charging” (or blinking battery icon) on the display of the unit.
• Repeat this process 5 times (for units with connector related complaints).
• Any failed attempt should be noted, to later confirm any improved performance.
• Using a small bristled brush, clean the contacts of the connector by moving the brush over the
contacts in a circular motion, as shown below. Visually inspect for any obvious loose debris that
may require further cleaning, and then continue to the next step
compressed air to remove any loose material left after brushing. Also occasionally inspect brush for any
build up of foreign material)

• While having a battery connected, plug in the appropriate corresponding charger, and verify the
connector is working by again noting “Charging” (or blinking battery icon) on the display of the unit.
• Again, repeat this process 5 times. Any units that fail should be inspected for other solder, and
connector related issues and dealt with accordingly.
