Electrical requirements
Check the voltage on the rating plate of your clock radio corresponds with your house
electricity supply which must be A.C. (Alternating current).
If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for the plug supplied with this appliance
the plug should be removed and the appropriate one fitted.
IMP0RTANT : THE PLUG REMOVED FROM THE MAINS LEAD, IF SEVERED, MUST BE DESTROYED AS A PLUG WITH A BARED FLEXIBLE CORD IS HAZARDOUS IF ENGAGED INTO A LIVE SOCKET OUTLET .
Should the fuse in the 13 amp plug require changing a 3 amp BS1362 fuse must be fitted.
Battery back-up facility
Your alarm clock radio is equipped with a battery back-up facility . 1 Remove the battery compartment cover (located underneath the unit) by pressing
down and sliding off the battery cover . 2 Insert a battery size 9 volts PP3/6LR61 (Ensure batteries are inserted correctly) 3 Replace the battery compartment cover.
Should a power interruption occur the clock will continue to run, however, time keeping will not be accurate. The display will be extinguished to conserve battery life but the memory will retain details of the clock time and alarm settings.
If the optional battery is not installed in case of the AC power failure the display will blink to indicate the power was interrupted. You will need to reset the clock and alarm.
Battery back-up is designed to operate for a short period only.
If the unit is not to be used for a prolonged period, remove the battery to avoid battery leakage.
In the interests of environmental safety : dispose of batteries safely.

Switching on, and setting the clock time
Before any alarm functions can be used on your alarm clock radio you must first set the clock to the correct time.
1 Place the unit on a flat surface. Plug the mains plug (1) into the wall socket and switch
on the wall socket. 2 The clock LED display (22) will flash on/off. 3 Press and hold the TIME button (2) and simultaneously hold down the FAST
SETTING button (11). The LED clock display (22) will fast forward the minutes and
hour segments. Release all buttons when the correct time is set. 4 Press and hold the TIME button (2) and simultaneously hold down the SLOW
SETTING button (10) will adjust the clock time slowly. 5 The PM indicator (18) will illuminate to indicate 12.00 midday has been
reached.
Power on and off
The unit must be switched on before the radio can operate.
1 Switch the unit on by pressing the RADIO ON button (5). 2 Press the OFF button (6) to switch off the radio.
Setting the clock alarm time
The alarm function can be set to operate on the following functions: wake up to two different alarm times which you can choose to use independently or simultaneously. AL1 or AL2 or AL1 + 2.
Set alarm 1
1 Slide the alarm selector switch (3) to the AL1 position. 2 Press and hold the ALARM button (9) and simultaneously hold down the FAST
SETTING button (11). The clock display (22) will fast forward the minutes and hour
segments. Release all buttons when the correct alarm time is reached. 3 Press and hold the ALARM button (9) and simultaneously hold down the SLOW
SETTING button (10) alarm time will adjust slowly.
Set alarm 2
1 Slide the alarm selector switch (3) to the AL2 position. 2 Press and hold the ALARM button (9) and simultaneously hold down the FAST
SETTING button (11). The clock display (22) will fast forward the minutes and hour
segments. Release all buttons when the correct alarm time is reached. 3 Press and hold the ALARM button (9) and simultaneously hold down the SLOW
SETTING button (10) alarm time will adjust slowly. If set to AL1 + AL2 the alarm will operate at the preset alarm times.

Setting the alarm to wake to buzzer
1 Slide the Alarm Mode switch (4) to select your wake up mode:
-To BUZZER position for alarm buzzer sound.
2 Once the alarm switch has been activated the ALARM indicator AL1 (19), AL2 (21) will illuminate.
Setting the alarm to wake to radio
1 Set the required alarm time by pressing and holding the ALARM button (9) and
simultaneously the FAST SETTING button (1 1) to fast forward or the SLOW SETTING
button (10) to adjust alarm time slowly. 2 Select the required waveband by sliding the BAND switch (12) to either FM or MW. 3 Press the RADIO ON button (5) to turn on the radio. Turn the TUNING control (13) and
the DIAL SCALE (20) will point to the station you wish to use for the alarm. 4 Adjust the VOLUME control (15) to the desired level. 5 Slide the alarm selector (3) to the AL1 position, AL2 or AL1+ AL2 position. 6 Slide the alarm mode switch (4) to the AUTO position. Once the Alarm switch has been
activated the ALARM indicator AL1 (19), AL2 (21) or (19) and (21) if both alarms are
required will illuminate. 7 To stop listening to the radio press the OFF button (6).
Ensure the radio station will be transmitting at the preset alarm time.
Cancelling the alarm
The alarm is programmed to run for 59 minutes. 1 Press the SNOOZE button (8) to stop the alarm temporarily, the alarm will ring again in
7 minutes. 2 To cancel the alarm press the OFF button (6). (The alarm will automatically activate
24 hours later). 3 If the alarm is no longer required slide the alarm mode switch (4) to the OFF position.
(The alarm indicator(s) will switch off).

Snooze function
You can press the SNOOZE button (8) after the alarm has sounded which allows 7 minutes of snooze time. After 7 minutes the alarm will sound again.
1 When the alarm or buzzer sounds press the SNOOZE button (8).
(The snooze default is set for 7 minutes and then resumes).
The snooze function will cease to operate after 59 minutes.
Sleep function
The sleep function sets the unit to play the radio whilst you go to sleep and will switch off after a set time.
1 Slide the band selector switch (12) to FM or MW. 2 To use the sleep facility press the SLEEP button (7), (The sleep default is set for 59
minutes after which time the unit will automatically switch off). 3 The sleep time can be varied between 59 minutes to 1 minute. 4 To set your own sleep time, press the SLEEP button (7) together with the FAST
SETTING (11) button to fast forward the minute and hour segments. Press and hold the
SLEEP button (7) and simultaneously hold down the SLOW SETTING button (10) will
adjust the minute and hour segments slowly. 5 Release the buttons when the required sleep time is reached. 6 If you want to turn off the music before the end of the programme press the OFF
button (6) or the SNOOZE button (8). When the sleep time has expired the radio will switch off.
Listening to the radio
1 Press the RADIO ON button (5) 2 Slide the band selector switch (12) to either the FM or MW position. 3 Turn the tuning control (13) and tune to the desired station. 4 Adjust the volume control (15) to the desired level. 5 Press the OFF button (6) to turn off the radio.
T o obtain the maximum reception fully extend the wire FM aerial (17) (which is located at the rear of the unit)and alter the direction of the wire for best results.
The aerial for the MW waveband is located inside the unit. To obtain, the maximum MW reception rotate your clock radio.
Dimmer switch
Your clock radio is equipped with a dimmer switch (14) which allows you to alter the brightness of the LED Clock Display (22).
1 Slide the DIMMER switch (14) to the high position to achieve maximum
brightness. 2 Slide the DIMMER switch (14) to the low position to achieve minimum
brightness.
Maintenance
Do not expose your clock radio to extremes of temperature. The product should be kept in a warm environment free from dust and damp. For external cleaning use only a soft, clean, damp cloth. Use of detergents may damage the finish.
