Disposal of the packing material
The packaging is designed to protect the appliance from damage during transportation. The packaging materials used are selected from materials which are environmentally friendly for disposal and should be recycled.
Recycling the packaging reduces the use of raw materials in the manufacturing process and also reduces the amount of waste in landfill sites.
Disposal of your old appliance
Electrical and electronic appliances often contain valuable materials. They also contain materials which, if handled or disposed of incorrectly, could be potentially hazardous to human health and to the environment. They are, however, essential for the correct functioning of your appliance. Please do not therefore dispose of it with your household waste.
Energy saving tips
To avoid unnecessarily long drying times and high consumption of energy:
– Make sure that your laundry is thor-
oughly spun before drying. The higher the spin, the greater the savings that can be made in energy and time during drying.
– Load according to the optimum
amount of laundry recommended for the programme being used. Underloading is uneconomical. Overloading gives a poorer quality of drying and may cause unnecessary creasing.
– Make sure the room temperature is
not too high. If there are other heat producing appliances in the room in which the dryer is located, make sure the room is well ventilated and switch the other appliances off, if possible.
– After every cycle remove the fluff
from the fluff filters in the door and in the door opening.
Please dispose of it at your local community waste collection / recycling centre.
Ensure that it presents no danger to children while being stored for disposal.

Warning and Safety instructions

It is essential to read these instructions.
This tumble dryer complies with current safety requirements. Inappropriate use can, however, lead to personal injury and damage to property.
To avoid the risk of accidents and damage to the tumble dryer, please read these instructions carefully before using it for the first time. They contain important information on its safety, installation, use and maintenance.
Keep these instructions in a safe place and ensure that they are made available to new users. They must be made aware of these safety and warning instructions.
Pass these instructions on to any future users/owners of the tumble dryer.

Correct application

This tumble dryer is only intended for drying fabrics which have
been washed in a water solution, and marked on the manufacturer's care label as being suitable for tumble drying. “Dry cleaning kits” for freshening up garments in a tumble dryer are increasingly available on the market. If using, do so at your own risk, and follow the instructions provided on the packaging. Any other applications may be dangerous. Miele cannot be held liable for damage resulting from incorrect or improper use or operation.
The tumble dryer is not intended for outdoor use.
5

Warning and Safety instructions
This appliance can only be used by people with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge, if they are supervised whilst using it or have been shown how to use it in a safe way and understand and recognise the consequences of incorrect operation.
Children under 8 years of age must be kept away from the tumble
dryer unless they are constantly supervised.
Children 8 years and older may only use the tumble dryer unsu-
pervised if they have been shown how to use it safely and recognise and understand the consequences of incorrect operation.
Children must not be allowed to clean or maintain the tumble
dryer unsupervised.
Please supervise children in the vicinity of the tumble dryer and do
not let them play with it.
6

Warning and Safety instructions

Technical safety

Before setting up the tumble dryer, check it for any externally vis-
ible damage. Do not install or use a damaged tumble dryer.
Do not make any alterations to the tumble dryer, unless authorised
to do so by Miele.
Do not connect the tumble dryer to the mains electricity supply by
an extension lead. Extension leads are a fire hazard and do not guarantee the required safety of the tumble dryer.
The electrical safety of this tumble dryer can only be guaranteed
when correctly earthed. It is essential that this standard safety requirement is met. If in any doubt, please have the household wiring system inspected by a qualified electrician. Miele cannot be held liable for the consequences of an inadequate earthing system (e.g. electric shock).
Unauthorised repairs could result in unforeseen dangers for the
user, for which Miele cannot accept liability. Repairs should only be undertaken by a Miele approved service technician, otherwise any subsequent damage will not be covered by the guarantee. Ensure current is not supplied to the tumble dryer until after maintenance or repair work has been carried out.
7
Page 8
Warning and Safety instructions
Faulty components must only be replaced by genuine Miele ori-
ginal spare parts. The manufacturer can only guarantee the safety of the appliance when Miele replacement parts are used.
To ensure the correct performance of the tumble dryer and to pre-
vent the risk of faults and fire, it is important to carry out maintenance on a regular basis.
In the event of a fault or for cleaning purposes, the tumble dryer
is only completely isolated from the electricity supply when:
– it is switched off at the wall socket or the plug is withdrawn, or
– it is switched off at the mains, or the mains fuse is disconnected
– the screw-out fuse is removed (in countries where this is applic-
able), or it is switched off at the isolator switch.
See “Installation and connection - Electrical connection”.
This appliance must not be used in a non-stationary location (e.g.
on a ship).
8
Page 9
Warning and Safety instructions
Heat pump and refrigerant:
– This tumble dryer uses refrigerant gas which is not flammable and
not explosive.
– The humming noises caused by the heat pump during the drying
process are normal and do not impair the efficient functioning of the dryer.
– In general it is not necessary to leave the dryer standing for any
length of time after it has been installed provided it has been transported correctly (see “Installation and connection”).
– If it has not been transported as described, ensure that the re-
commended standing time prior to first operation is observed. Otherwise the heat pump can be damaged.
– This tumble dryer contains fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-Gas).
They are hermetically sealed. Designation of refrigerant: R134a Amount of refrigerant: 0.50 kg Global warming potential of refrigerant: 1430 kg CO2 e Global warming potential of appliance: 715 kg CO2 e
9
Page 10
Warning and Safety instructions
See “Installation” and “Technical data”.The accessibility of the plug must be always ensured, in order to
separate the tumble dryer from the mains. All electrical work should be carried out only by a suitably qualified and competent person, in strict accordance with national and local safety regulations.
If the appliance is hard wired, adequate provision must be made
on site to switch off all poles to disconnect the tumble dryer from the electrical supply.
Do not block the gap between the bottom of the tumble dryer and
the floor with plinth facings, deep pile carpet etc. This would hinder a sufficient flow of air to the dryer.
Do not install a lockable door, a sliding door or a door which is
hinged in the opposite direction to the dryer door.
This tumble dryer is supplied with a special lamp to cope with
particular conditions (e.g. temperature, moisture, chemical resistance, abrasion resistance and vibration). This special lamp must only be used for the purpose it is intended for. It is not suitable for room lighting.
10
Page 11
Warning and Safety instructions

Correct use

The maximum load for this tumble dryer is 6.5 kg (dry weight). The
maximum recommended loads for individual programmes are given in the Programme chart.
Do not let anyone sit or lean on the door, as this can cause the
tumble dryer to tip up.
Always close the door after use. This way you will avoid the
danger of:
– children climbing onto or into the dryer or hiding things in it.
– pets or other small animals climbing into it.
Do not use a pressure washer or hose to clean the tumble dryer.Always keep the area around the tumble dryer free of dust and
fluff. Dust drawn into the dryer can, over time, cause blockages. Faults can then occur as well as the risk of fire.
The tumble dryer must not be used
– without the fluff filters in place or without the filter in the plinth.
– without the bottom right grille.
– if the fluff filters damaged and filter (in plinth) are damaged in any
way. In the event of a damaged filter, switch the dryer off and replace the filter with a new one.
Otherwise an excessive build-up of fluff can build up which could cause a fault.
11
Page 12
Warning and Safety instructions
To ensure problem-free operation:
– After every cycle remove the fluff from the surfaces of the fluff fil-
ters.
– The fluff filters and the fine filters must be thoroughly dried after
wet cleaning. Do not replace them if they are damp or wet. Damp or wet filters could cause operational faults.
– Clean the airways (fluff filters, plinth filter, bottom right grille) as
soon as the prompt to do so appears in the display.
Do not install the tumble dryer in a room where there is a risk of
frost occurring. At temperatures around freezing point the tumble dryer may not be able to operate properly. There is a risk of damage if the condensed water is allowed to freeze in the pump or hoses. The ambient room temperature should be between 2°C and 35°C.
If the water is drained externally through the drain hose instead of
being collected in the condensed water container, make sure the drain hose is securely attached if you hang it in a sink or basin to avoid the hose slipping and the water causing damage.
Condensed water is not drinking water.
It can cause health problems in both people and animals.
12
Page 13
Warning and Safety instructions
To prevent the risk of fire, the following textiles must not be dried
in this tumble dryer:
– items which have not been washed.
– Items, such as workwear, which have not been thoroughly
cleaned and which are still soiled with grease, oil or other deposits (such as cosmetics, lotions etc). If items have not been thoroughly cleaned there is a danger that these might ignite when heated, even after they have been removed from the dryer at the end of the programme.
– Items that have been soiled with substances such as acetone,
petrol, kerosene, stain removers, turpentine, waxes, wax removers and other chemicals (e.g. mops and floor cloths) should be washed in hot water with extra detergent before being dried in the tumble dryer.
– Items which have been splashed with hair lacquer, hair spray, nail
varnish remover or similar substances.
When washing very heavily soiled items ensure that you use sufficient detergent and select a high temperature. If in doubt wash several times before drying.
Remove all items from pockets (e.g. lighters, matches). In many programmes, the heating phase is followed by a cooling
down phase to ensure that the items are not too hot to handle when you remove them (this also avoids the danger of the laundry self-igniting). The programme is not finished until the cooling down phase is complete. Ensure that you always wait until the end of the programme before removing the laundry.
13
Page 14
Warning and Safety instructions
To prevent the risk of fire, do not connect the tumble dryer via a
controllable socket (e.g. a timer or a peak-load switch-off). If the drying programme is interrupted before the end of the cooling down phase, this could cause the laundry to self-ignite.
To prevent the risk of fire, the following textiles must not be dried
in this tumble dryer:
– items which have been cleaned using chemicals (e.g. professional
dry-cleaning agents).
– fabrics which contain a large proportion of rubber, foam rubber or
rubber-like materials. For example, products made from latex foam rubber, shower caps, waterproof textiles, rubberised articles and items of clothing and pillows with foam rubber filling.
– Fabrics which contain damaged padding or fillings (e.g. pillows,
jackets). When damaged, the filling can get out with the risk of it igniting in the dryer.
In many programmes, the heating phase is followed by a cooling
down phase to ensure that the items are not too hot to handle when you remove them (this also avoids the danger of the laundry self-igniting). The programme is not finished until the cooling down phase has been completed. Ensure you always wait until the end of the programme before removing the laundry.
Fabric conditioner and similar products must be used according
to the instructions on the manufacturer's packaging.
Benzine, petrol, paraffin, or any easily flammable liquid must not
be stored or used near the machine. Danger of explosion.
14
Page 15
Warning and Safety instructions
Do not expose the dryer to air which is contaminated with vapour
of chlorine, fluorine or other solvents. Danger of fire.
For tumble dryers with stainless steel surfaces:
The stainless steel surfaces must not come into contact with liquid cleaning and disinfecting agents which contain chlorine or sodium hypochlorite. These agents can have a corrosive effect on stainless steel. Aggressive vapours containing chlorine can also be corrosive. Do not store containers of these agents near the tumble dryer.

Accessories

Only use genuine Miele original spare parts and accessories with
this appliance. If spare parts or accessories from other manufacturers are used, this will invalidate the guarantee, and Miele cannot accept liability.
The tumble dryer can also be combined with a Miele washing ma-
chine in a washer-dryer stack. The appropriate “WTV” stacking kit (available to order) to match your dryer is required.
Make sure that you order the correct plinth for this tumble dryer
(available from Miele as an optional accessory).
Miele cannot be held liable for damage caused by non-compliance with these Warning and Safety instructions.

Before drying

– When washing very heavily soiled
items ensure that you use sufficient detergent and select a high temperature. If in doubt, wash the items several times.
– Do not put soaking wet items into the
tumble dryer. Make sure your laundry is thoroughly spun before drying. The higher the spin speed, the greater the savings that can be made in energy and time during drying.
– Starched laundry can be dried in the
tumble dryer. To achieve the usual finish, double the amount of starch should be used.
– Check the seams of padded or
down-filled items to prevent the risk of fillings coming out. These could catch fire in the tumble dryer.
– Tie together textile belts and apron
ties to stop them getting tangled.
– Fasten
duvet covers, pillow cases etc. to prevent small items from being rolled up inside them. Fasten hooks and eyes etc.
– Underwiring and collar stiffeners: Any
loose wiring in bras, shirt collar stiffeners, etc. should be removed or sewn in.
– Leave jackets open and undo any
long zips so that textiles dry evenly.
– For an even drying result, it is import-
ant to ... ... spin, ... shake out ... and sort items according to fabric type, size, care label and the drying level required.
– New dark coloured garments should
be washed and dried separately from light coloured garments to avoid the danger of colours running and discolouring other garments or even plastic components in the dryer. Dark coloured fibres can also settle on light coloured garments and vice versa.
20
Page 21
Notes and tips on laundry care

2. Load the tumble dryer

Make sure that objects, e.g. de-
tergent dosing balls, have been removed from the laundry.
They could melt and cause damage to the dryer or the laundry.
See “Warning and Safety” in-
structions for further information. Using the tumble dryer incorrectly
could cause a fire.
– Do not overload the drum. Overload-
ing can cause unnecessary wear and tear to the laundry, give a disappointing drying result and cause more creasing.
– To save energy, always observe the
maximum load for each programme (see the separate booklet “Commissioning, Programme chart and Settings”).
– Minimum iron fabrics tend to crease
more, the greater the load. This is also the case for garments made from very fine weave fabrics, such as shirts or blouses. If necessary, reduce the size of the load for these types of fabrics.

3. Select a programme

– On many programmes, different dry-
ing levels can be selected depending on individual requirements: ... e.g. Normal+ for laundry that you want to fold and put away immediately after drying. ... e.g. Machine iron or Hand iron if the laundry needs further processing after drying. See separate booklet "Commissioning, Programme chart and Settings for more details.
– For delicate fabrics select Gentle
tumble as well.
– Down-filled garments have linings
which have a tendency to shrink, depending on the quality of the item. They can be partially dried using the Smoothing programme.
– Pure linen should only be machine
dried if specified as suitable by the manufacturer on the care label, as the surface of the fabric may otherwise become rough. They can be partially dried using the Smoothing programme.
– Woollens and wool blends tend to
become matted and shrink if dried in a tumble dryer. Only dry these in a Woollens programme.
– Loopknit garments (e.g. T-shirts and
underwear) tend to shrink depending on their quality. Do not over-dry these textiles. When purchasing these garments it is advisable to take their shrinkage properties into account.

The following factors all affect the estimated time remaining: residual moisture content after spinning; type of fabric; size of load; room temperature; fluctuations in power supply.
The electronics continually assess conditions in the appliance and adjust the estimated time remaining for a more accurate reading. Because of this, the time displayed can alter during the course of a programme.

Before the end of a programme

In many programmes the heating phase is followed by the cooling down phase: Cooling down will appear in the display. The programme is not finished until the cooling down phase has been completed.
Do not switch the dryer off before the drying programme has finished. If this is done, the laundry must be hung up or spread out to cool it down.

Cleaning and care

Make sure you clean all the filters at the correct intervals
This tumble dryer has a multistage filter system, consisting of the fluff filters (1) and a filter in the plinth (2). This system, together with the bottom right grille/airway (3) requires regular maintenance.
Do not operate the tumble dryer
without the fluff filters and the filter in the plinth in place. Also the bottom right grille must always be in place.
– Make sure that the fluff filters and
the fine filter are not damaged. Replace them immediately, if they are damaged in any way (available as optional accessories).
Failure to do so could cause an
excessive build-up of fluff which in turn could cause a fault!

1. When to clean the fluff filters

Clean the fluff filters after each
drying programme
The fluff which is created by the drying process is collected by the fluff filters in the door and the door opening.
See “Cleaning the fluff filters”
31
Page 32
Cleaning and care

2. When to clean the filter in the plinth

The plinth filter protects the heat exchanger from fluff. Therefore it is particularly important to clean this filter thoroughly on a regular basis in accordance with these operating instructions. The filter must also be checked regularly for wear.
With normal use Clean when Clean plinth filter appears
in the display.
With continuous use Clean 1x daily and additionally when
the prompt appears in the display.
The filter in the plinth is behind the service panel on the bottom left. It collects finer fluff, hair and detergent residues that have got through the surfaces of the fluff filters.
If the filter is not properly
cleaned or is worn or blocked, the heat exchanger will be permanently obstructed. There is insufficient flow of air and heat in the heat exchanger.
This requires a visit from the Service department.
This can be avoided by following the advice in these operating instructions.
See “Filter in the plinth”.To clear the Clean plinth filter prompt:
Confirm with OK.
32

3. When to clean the bottom right grille

Clean when Open bottom right grille.
Clean airways appears in the display.
There are intake and exhaust vents for air cooling in the bottom right grille. The cooling fins behind the grille can become blocked with dust and dirt drawn in from the surrounding area.
Keep the room where the tumble
dryer is located free from dust and fluff. This will reduce the requirement to clean the bottom right grille/airways.

Cleaning them with water

If there is a great deal of com-
pacted fluff on any of the filters, they can be removed and cleaned under hot running water.
Open the door and pull the fluff filter
out of the door as described previously.
The two filters in the door opening can also be removed if you need to clean them with water.

Replacing them

Do not replace them if they are
damp or wet. Damp or wet filters could cause operational faults.
Push the large filter back into the
door holder until it clicks into position. Ensure it is facing the correct way.
Replace the filters in the door open-
ing by first inserting them at the bottom and then pressing them into place at the top.

Cleaning

Tip: Fluff can be removed with a va-
cuum cleaner. This makes subsequent wet cleaning easier.
Rinse the filter thoroughly under
clean, running water.
Squeeze the filter very carefully sev-
eral times as you rinse it.
Rinse the filter until all visible residues
have been removed.
The plinth filter must not be re-
placed dripping wet. This can cause a fault.
The plinth filter must be perfectly
functional and undamaged after cleaning.
If the filter is not properly cleaned or is damaged, the flow of air and heat will be impeded and the heat exchanger will be permanently obstructed.
Before and after cleaning check the plinth filter in accordance with the description in “Replacing the plinth filter”.
Poor fit
The edges of the filter do not sit properly and the filter is deformed. Fluff will blow into the heat exchanger unfiltered through edges that do not sit properly. This will cause a permanent obstruction in the heat exchanger.
Use a damp cloth to remove any fluff
from the handle.

Replacing the plinth filter

If the tumble dryer is in continu-
ous use and is being cleaned regularly the plinth filter can begin to show signs of wear after a while.
Replace the filter immediately if you see the following signs of wear be- fore or after cleaning.
37
Page 38
Cleaning and care
Deformation
Deformations indicate that the filter has become blocked and worn by continuous use.
Cracks, tears, indentations
Indentations indicate that the filter has become blocked and worn by continuous use.
White residues or residues of other colours
Residues arise from laundry fibres and traces of detergent components which can clog the filter. They can be found on the front and side edges of the filter. In extreme cases they can form stubborn hard crusts. Residues are a sign that the filter no is longer a snug fit at the sides, even if it appears to be perfect: fluff is getting in unfiltered at the edges.
Fluff will blow into the heat exchanger through cracks and tears and will cause obstruction.
38
If these residues appear on the filter again soon after cleaning, the filter must be replaced.
Page 39
Cleaning and care

Cleaning the filter insert (in the plinth)

The surface of the filter in the filter insert is visible after removing the filter from the plinth. This filter surface must only be cleaned if there is a visible accumulation of fluff.
Carefully vacuum up any visible fluff
or soiling. Use a dusting brush or the narrow crevice nozzle.
If there are visible blockages or other residues after cleaning: remove the filter insert and wet clean it. If stubborn residues are not removed, these can lead to faults over time.

Removing the filter insert

If the filter insert has soiling adhering to it, it must be removed for wet cleaning.
Pull the filter insert out at an angle by
the handle, so that the lower half is pulled forward.
Then pull the filter insert out at an
angle to the left. Levering it slightly as you do so will make it easier to remove.
Rinse the filter surface of the insert
under warm running water.
39
Page 40
Cleaning and care
Ensure the filters are dry before replacing them. Wet filters could cause operational faults.
Shake the filter insert thoroughly and then dry it carefully.

Check the cooling fins on the heat exchanger

Danger of injury if you touch the
cooling fins. You could cut yourself. Do not touch the cooling fins with
your hands.
After removing the filter insert visually check the cooling fins on the heat exchanger. Check for any accumulation of fluff.
Risk of damage if cooling fins are
cleaned incorrectly. The cooling fins can suffer damage
or get bent. This would hinder the operational performance of the dryer.
Clean using a vacuum cleaner with a dusting brush attached. Only pass the vacuum cleaner dusting brush over the fins lightly, without applying any pressure.

Refitting the filter insert (in the plinth)

Carefully vacuum up any visible fluff
or soiling. Use a dusting brush or the narrow crevice nozzle.
40
Push the filter insert in gently at an
angle.
The filter insert must first be pushed in at the top, so that it is easier to fit.
Page 41
Push the filter insert in by the handle
at an angle, such that the lower half sits forwards at an angle.
Cleaning and care

Refitting the fluff filter (in the plinth)

Fit the filter back on the handle. Make
sure it is the correct way round.
Then push it in straight.
The filter insert must sit evenly at the top and bottom.
Press the frame of the filter insert in at
the 3 positions marked PUSH until it audibly engages.
First insert the handle with the filter
attached the right way round over the two guide pins.
Make sure that the yellow dot on the handle is on the right.

Unsatisfactory drying results

Problem Cause and remedy
The laundry is not sufficiently dry.
Laundry or feather filled pillows smell after drying.
Items made of synthetic fibres are charged with static electricity after drying.
There is a build-up of fluff.
The load consisted of different fabrics. Finish drying using the Warm air timed drying pro-
gramme.
Next time, select a more suitable programme (see
“Programme chart” in the separate booklet “Commissioning, Programme chart and Settings”).
The laundry was washed with insufficient detergent Feathers are a natural product and this is quite normal.
Laundry: use sufficient detergent next time.Allow feather pillows to air after tumble drying.
Synthetic fibres tend to attract static charge. Static charge can be reduced by adding a fabric
conditioner to the final rinse in the washing programme or a fabric conditioner sheet to the load when drying.
Fluff is principally the result of friction when garments are being worn and to some extent when they are being washed. Machine drying hardly causes any fluff to form and has no appreciable effect on the lifetime of the fabric. Fluff is collected by the fluff filters and fine filter and can be easily removed
(see “Cleaning and care”).

Installation

Make sure the dryer door can be
opened without hindrance after installation.
Transporting the dryer to its installation site
When moving the dryer, hold it by the lid where it protrudes to the rear. To manoeuvre the dryer out of its packing case to its installation site you will also need to hold it by the front feet.
Installation and connection
Ensure that the tumble dryer is
stable during transportation.
If transporting the dryer at an
angle, only tip towards the left side.
If the tumble dryer has not been
transported as described, then it must be left to stand for at least 1 hour before it is connected to the electricity supply. Otherwise the heat pump can be damaged.
55
Page 56
Installation and connection

Levelling the dryer

The appliance must stand perfectly level on all four feet to ensure safe and proper operation.
This tumble dryer is not suitable for building under.

Securing the tumble dryer against slipping

Secure the front feet of the
tumble dryer using the clamps supplied.
The screw feet can be adjusted to compensate for any unevenness in the floor.
Do not block the gap between
the bottom of the tumble dryer and the floor with plinth facings, deep pile carpet etc. This would hinder a sufficient flow of air to the dryer.
56
Page 57

Payment system

The dryer can be fitted with a payment system (optional accessory). This must be connected and programmed by a Miele service technician.
Coins/tokens must be removed
from the payment system regularly, otherwise it will become blocked.

Information for service technicians

When connecting a payment
system the plug on the push button switch (see wiring diagram) must be moved from its default position to the position for coin operation. If this is not done faults can occur with coin operation.

Room ventilation

– Air drawn in for use in the drying pro-
cess will be warm when it is expelled back into the room. It is therefore very important to ensure the room is adequately ventilated, particularly if the dryer is located in a small room.
Installation and connection
– Make sure the room temperature is
not too high. If there are other heat producing appliances in the room in which the dryer is located, make sure the room is well ventilated and switch the other appliances off, if possible.
Otherwise running times and energy consumption could be increased.
57

Hose for external drainage of condensed water

The condensed water is pumped away through the drain hose which is located at the back of the dryer.

Laying the drain hose

Do not pull on the drain hose, do
not stretch it or allow it to become kinked.
This could damage it.
Use the bow-shaped guide to prevent
the drain hose from becoming kinked.
Drain hose length: 1.4 m Delivery head: 1 m Hose extension supplied (including connection): 1.95 m
In certain situations this tumble
dryer must be fitted with a non-return valve (optional accessory). See “Drain hose connection”.

Drain hose connection

Direct into a sink or basin
– Hook the hose over the edge and se-
cure.
– Use a non-return valve if the end of
the hose could possibly become submerged in water.
Connected securely to a floor gully
– Always use a non-return valve.
Connected directly to a sink drain outlet
– Always use a non-return valve.
If the tumble dryer is connected to a drainage system already in use by another appliance, e.g. a dishwasher or washing machine.
– Always use a non-return valve.
Without a non-return valve, water
could flow back into the tumble dryer or be drawn back in and leak out, causing damage.

Electrical connection

Electrical connection
All electrical work must be car-
ried out by a suitably qualified and competent person in accordance with current local and national safety regulations (BS 7671 in the UK).
This appliance is supplied with a connection cable and moulded plug (BS
1363) for connection to a 230 V mains supply.
The appliance must only be operated with the voltage, frequency and fuse rating shown on the data plate supplied with the appliance. Please ensure these match the site mains supply.
We recommend connecting the appliance to the power supply via an IP44 plug and socket which must be easily accessible for servicing and maintenance work after the appliance has been installed.
If the appliance is disconnected
from the electricity supply adequate measures must be taken to ensure that the appliance cannot be reconnected to the electricity supply until all work has been carried out.
The appliance must be perman-
ently connected to the electricity supply to enable the programme to complete and to enable the load to cool down after drying. For this reason it must not be connected to devices such as timers which would switch it off automatically.

WARNING THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED

Do not connect the appliance via an extension lead. Extension leads do not guarantee the required safety of the appliance (e.g. danger of overheating).
For extra safety and protection we recommend connecting the appliance by a 30 mA residual current device (RCD).
An electrical safety test must be carried out after installation and after any service work.
The mains connection cable may only be replaced by an original Miele spare part.
