Instructions for your G 7827/28 or PG 8527/28 Washer-disinfector carefully. You should only process medical products in this module if they have been declared as suitable for machine processing by the manufacturer. Please also observe the manufacturer's care instructions. The programme selected must be suitable for the materials from which the medical products to be processed are made. Where possible, the programme should include thermal disinfection. The final rinse should, if possible, always be carried out with fully de-mineralised water. If using automatic mobile unit recognition please make sure that the coding is correctly set.
Areas of application:
Module E 949 can be placed in both levels of the E 941 mobile unit. The E 941 mobile unit is supplied with its own operating instructions. The module can be used to clean and thermally disinfect orthopaedic surgical shafted instruments, e.g. irrigation tubes, working shafts, guide sleeves, bone marrow pins and bone marrow drills.
Only bone marrow drills with a smooth surface may be reprocessed, i.e.
,
rigid bone marrow drills and flexible bone marrow drills, e.g. made of nitinol.
Flexible bone marrow drills manufactured with spiral bands should not be reprocessed as, due to this type of construction, the surfaces and gaps between the spiral bands will not be accessed by the cleaning solution and cleaning efficacy will be reduced.
The diameter of the large injector sleeves also allows larger trocars or shafted instruments from other surgical disciplines to be processed.
Two additional connectors can also be fitted with injector sleeves, injector nozzles or other fittings in order to process ocular instruments or parts of clamping devices.
Before loading the machine and before starting a programme, please check that:
Before processing hollow instruments, they must be checked to ascertain
,
that the cleaning solution can pass through them.
Where the cleaning performance is insufficient when instruments with bone or bone marrow deposits are being processed, depending on the chemical agent used, additional pre-treatment, e.g. ultrasound should be carried out, if necessary.
For validation purposes please make sure that you follow the loading instructions given on the template.
,
To ensure adequate water pressure, all positions must always be fitted with
jets or blanking screws.
,
It is particlarly important to validate the cleaning result of hollow instruments
(Test Kit).
the module is correcly connected to the water intake in the mobile unit.
the extension sleeves are firmly attached to the holders.
^
Attach shafted instruments to individual holders.
The functioning end of shafted instruments must be atached to the holders, e.g.
^
bone marrow drills should be placed with the drill head downwards into the holder.
Extension sleeves can be used to adjust the holders to suit the length of the instruments, e.g. for bone marrow drills:
^
attach an extension sleeve to a holder.
If necessary, injector nozzles (e.g. E 453) or injector sleeves (e.g. E 336) can be screwed into the module.
To do this:
^
Unscrew the blanking screws from the connectors using an SW 9 spanner.
^
Screw injector sleeve MIBO into the screw connection,
or
^
Place shorter instruments, e.g. hand bores or awls, in the injector sleeves.
^
Place hollow instruments on the injector nozzles. Handles should be placed on the grille of the module.
^
Screw the injector jets into the screw connection and tighten with a SW 9 spanner for E 453 or a SW 7 spanner for E 454.
