MMP8590 Firmware upgrades procedure
1. Log onto our web site. www.memorexelectronics.com.
2. In the search window type your player model number in, then click enter.
3. Create a new folder on your desktop.
4. Download and save the firmware into the folder you just create on your desktop.
5. Close out the web site.
6. Double click on the folder you save the firmware into, and follow the instruction to install the MP3 Player
Utilities 5.11.
Note: If the installation cannot be started, uninstall the Video Converter Software and try again.
7. When finished install “MP3 Player Utilities 5.11, click “start”, select “All Programs” and look for “MP3
Player Utilities 5.11”; click on “MP3 Player Upgrade Tool”.
8. Format the MMP8590 player; then connect it to your computer. When “OK to remove” appears on the
MMP8590 display, press and hold down the Play/Pause button for 3-9 seconds to change the device from
MTP mode to MSC mode.
9. Click on “Select new firmware file” in the upgrade tool window, and look in the folder where you save
the firmware.
10. Firmware file name: V016.31_20080506.fwu
11. In the “MP3 Player Firmware Upgrade Tool “click on begin upgrading.
12. When finish, click on “Close” under “MP3 Player Product Tool” and the firmware upgrade is done.
