Important Safety Instructions
When using electrical appliances, basic safety
precautions should always be followed, including the following:
1. Read these instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep them for future consultation.
2. This appliance is only for domestic use, not industrial use.
3. Do not leave the appliance within the reach of children or disabled individuals.
4. Before connecting the appliance to the mains, check that the voltage indicated on the nameplate coincides with the mains voltage.
5. No liability is accepted for damage caused through inappropriate handling or use other than that stipulated in this manual.
6. Do not use this appliance if it is damaged in any way.
7. Unravel the power cable fully.
8. Always unplug the iron when out of use, even for a short period.
9. Unplug the iron before filling or emptying the water deposit.
10. Never submerge the iron in water or put it under running water.
Before first use
• Some parts of the iron have been lightly
greased and thus the iron may produce a little smoke when plugged in for the first time. This will stop after a short period of time.
1. Before putting into use for the first time, remove the plastic cover from the base and clean the base with a soft cloth.
2. Keep the base smooth: do not touch metal objects (buttons, zips, etc.)
Pure wool fabrics (100%) can be ironed with the
iron set to steam. Preferably choose a high steam position and use a dry ironing cloth.
cools down so we recommend you start your ironing with those garments that require lower temperatures and then gradually increase the setting.
5. Connect the appliance to the mains. The pilot light will come on. Turn the temperature gauge to the desired temperature.

The pilot turns off when the desired temperature
is reached.
How to fill the water deposit
1. Unplug the appliance.
2. Fill the water deposit through the filling hole (Fig. 1).
3. If your tap water is hard, use distilled water only.
4. Do not use chemically decalcified water.
5. The harder the water the more frequently the iron should be cleaned.
6. Throw out any excess water after use, once the iron has been unplugged.
Steam Ironing
1. Fill up the iron as described in the section “How to fill the water deposit”.
2. Plug in the iron.
3. Steam ironing is only possible if you select the
highest temperature***. Otherwise water may seep through the base of the iron.
4. Wait for the pilot light to go off.
5. Turn the steam regulator to the desired position
6. During pauses and when the ironing is complete, leave the iron standing upright.
7. Unplug the iron by pulling the plug out of the socket. Pour out any leftover water and let the iron cool down.
Spray
1. The spray can be used when dry ironing or when steam ironing.
2. To do so, press the spray button. The spray button has to be pressed repeatedly to release the first spray.
Instructions for Use
Temperature setting
1. Always check each garment’s ironing instructions.
2. If a garment does not have any ironing instructions, see the fabric classification below.
3. If the garment has several different types of fibre, select the lowest temperature setting.
4. Classify the number of garments by ironing temperature. The iron heats up faster than it
Steam blast
The steam blast gives an extra steam jet to help
remove tough creases.
1. Select the maximum temperature*** on the
temperature gauge. Wait for the pilot light to go off.
2. Press the steam blast button. Wait a few seconds for the steam to penetrate into the fabric before pressing again. For optimum steam quality, do not apply more than three successive blasts. The spray button has to be
pressed repeatedly to release the first spray.
Cleaning and Maintenance Cleaning
1. Unplug the appliance before proceeding to clean.
2. Do not use solvents or abrasive products for cleaning. A damp cloth with a few drops of washing up liquid is enough.
Self-cleaning
1. It is important to self-clean the appliance at least once a month to remove calcium and any other built-up minerals inside the iron.
2. Place the steam regulator control in the No steam position.
3. Fill up the deposit to the top.
4. Stand the iron upright and plug it in.
5. Turn the temperature gauge to the *** position.
6. Let the iron heat up until the pilot light turns off and back on again.
7. Unplug the iron and place it over the sink.
8. Press the self-cleaning button.
9. Let the water flow out through the steam vents in the base whilst lightly shaking the iron.
10. Release the self-cleaning button after a moment or when the deposit has been emptied and place the iron in an upright position.
11. Let the iron cool and then clean it.
Maintenance
1. Any stains that may form on the base of the iron can be cleaned off using a cloth dampened with water and white vinegar.
Problems and Solutions
Should the mains connection fail, do not try to
replace it since this is potentially dangerous. Take the appliance to an authorized Technical
Support Service. The same applies to any other
type of problem.

electrical defects. Should defects due to faulty
material or workmanship develop within two years from date of purchase, under normal domestic use, the appliance will be repaired free of charge.

guarantee is limited to 90 days.

presented if making a claim under the terms of the guarantee. If such proof is not available the product shall be deemed to be older than one year and a charge for service and \ or spares
will be applicable. Should your appliance
require attention or appear not to be operating properly, please take it to the retailer from whom it was purchased, together with all parts and your purchase slip.
This guarantee does not cover wear and tear or
damaged cause by over-loading negligence, accidental or improper use. Any changes will invalidate the guarantee, as would any attempted repair.
SERVICE
Before returning your product for service or repair
– check the following:
• Your household mains supply socket is working
properly.
• The mains supply circuit is not overloaded.
• The instructions for use have been followed
carefully.
If service becomes necessary within the
guarantee period the appliance should be returned to the retail outlet where purchased or carefully packed and marked “fragile-handle with care“ and sent carriage paid to the address
below. (Postage is not refundable) Service
outside the guarantee period is still available but this will be chargeable.

Pre-caution
Check fabric type is suitable for high steam
temperature
Switch steam setting to 0 (off) after use or
when filling tank.
Fill to MAX mark only.
If iron is left on the item in the horizontal
position for too long it may burn the fabric.
Check temperature setting is suitable for
fabric type.
Ensure iron is in the upright position.
Appliance must be of similar wattage to
prevent overloading.
Note that there can be up to 5 household
plug sockets on 1 circuit.

Use a old linen cloth to remove any trace
of dirt on the soleplate. Use iron soleplate
cleaner for bad marks.
