Switch off the appliance before removing the plug from the wall socket. Remove the plug from the wall socket when the appliance is not in use
and before cleaning.
Allow the appliance to cool completely before undertaking any cleaning task.
Do not open the lid while water is being boiled to avoid scalding by hot steam.
If the appliance is filled beyond the “FULL” indication line, boiling water may be ejected out of the appliance.
The appliance should be placed on a firm and flat surface and away from edges to avoid falling over or off the counter.
Never attempt to move the appliance when it is full of hot (or cold) water. This appliance becomes heavy when filled with water.
Do not boil or heat up any other liquid other than water in this appliance.
Do not attempt to alter, repair or dismantle the appliance, it’s power cord or plug. This is dangerous and could cause serious injury. If the appliance malfunctions, return the appliance to a technical service centre for repair.

INSTALLATION:
Remove all the packaging materials and tape, as well as any protective plastic from the appliance, it’s power cord and plug.
Clean off any glue residue left over from the protective plastic or adhesive tape.
Place the appliance on a flat level surface with the tap facing the user.

HOW TO USE THE APPLIANCE:
The appliance is constructed almost entirely of stainless steel and should give the user many years of trouble-free service as long as it is used in accordance with this instruction manual.
Before using this appliance for the first time, rinse out the appliance with warm water.
Ensure that the appliance is disconnected from the wall socket when filling and emptying the inner tank.
Fill the inner tank with water, do not fill the tank above the “FULL” level indicator. Avoid under filling the appliance (less than 1L) as this will cause the “boil dry protection system” to operate and will reduce the life-span of the element. The “MIN” capacity is 1 litre.
Ensure that the lid is on correctly and locked into place. To lock the lid, secure it to the top of the inner tank, then turn the lid clockwise, ensuring that the guides on the lid handle slot into the guides of the appliance handle. The lid will lock into place once it can no longer turn clockwise.
Slide lid into place.
Connect the urn to the power supply by inserting the plug into the wall socket. Switch the appliance on and then turn the variable thermostat control knob to the desired temperature. The heating pilot light will illuminate and the unit will begin to boil the water to the selected temperature.
Once the water has been heated to the selected temperature or has reached boiling point, the heating pilot light switches off and the keep warm pilot light illuminates. The urn will automatically switch over to the keep warm function.
Ensure that the water level is checked regularly to prevent the appliance from “boiling dry”.
To turn the appliance off, turn the variable temperature control knob anti-clockwise, switch the ON/ OFF switch to the“OFF” position and remove the plug from the wall socket.

When “boil dry” occurs, switch the appliance off and remove the plug from the wall socket and allow the appliance to cool down.
Fill the urn with water to the desired level. (Minimum capacity is 1L).
Do not fill the inner tank with water above the “FULL” level indicator.
Insert the plug into the wall socket and switch the appliance on. The heating pilot light will illuminate and the water will begin to boil.

This should then be followed by the usual cleaning with warm soapy water followed by rinsing thoroughly with clean water.
Wipe down the remainder of the appliance with a soft damp cloth, taking care to avoid water entering any part of the appliance.
