Quick Start Guide
Power supply
Please take special notice of the warnings in the main user manual!
1.
Insert the battery before bringing the notebook into
operation by sliding the battery pack into the
compartment. Lock the battery under all circumstances,
in order to avoid it falling out unintentionally.
2. Connect the supplied power adapter to the
notebook at the notebook power socket
3. Connect the power adapter via a power cable to
a free AC power outlet. Set the switch on the
mains adapter to position I, to provide the
notebook with electricity and to charge the battery.
(Set this switch to 0, in order to interrupt the
electricity supply.)
[16] .
For full battery performance please charge and discharge the new battery two or three times consecutively!
CAUTION!
To avoid damage to the display, never place objects on top of the notebook that would exert any pressure on it.
Starting up
4. Open the display to the required position. To avoid damage
to the TFT Display, never open it more than 120º
5. Switch the notebook on by pushing the ON/OFF
button [2]. The notebook computer will start.
6. The "Welcome" procedure will guide you through
a series of dialogue boxes. The information in each
dialogue box will explain the steps that need to be
taken. Follow the instructions carefully on-screen.
Before switching on your notebook computer ensure that there is not a disc (CD, DVD, etc) in the optical
drive. Some discs may prevent the operating system booting correctly from the hard drive
.
Activating your antivirus software
Probedruck
Antivirus software will have been installed on your notebook. You will be asked to register the AntiVirus
software after the first restart after setting up your notebook for the first time.
Carry out this free of charge online registration to release the software and to receive 90 days free updates.
Read about how you can protect your notebook after the expiry of these 90 days in the Operating
Instructions.
Note:
Do not install additional antivirus software as this will degrade the performance of your notebook
computer.
Note:
The operating system and antivirus software are automatically updated when the first online connection
is made. These processes usually take a few minutes, during which time the operating speed of the
computer may be affected although this is only noticeable on initial start-up.
Please find further, more detailed setup
instructions in the supplied "User's Guide".
