1. Introduction
1.1 Operational safety
Attention to the following notes ensures the continued safe operation of your equipment.
Always connect the equipment to a properly
grounded power source receptacle.In doubt,
have the receptacle checked by a qualified
electrician.
WARNING: Improper connection of the equipment grounding conductor can result in
electri-cal shock.
Always follow all warnings marked on, or
supplied with, the equipment.
Always locate the equipment on a solid support surface with adequate strength for the
weight of the machine.
Always exercise care in moving or relocating
the equipment.
Always keep magnets and all devices with
strong magnetic field away from the machine.
Never use a ground adapter plug to connect
the equipment to a power source receptacle
that lacks a ground connection terminal.
Never attempt any maintenance function that
is not specifically described in this
documentation.
Never remove the covers or guards that are
fastened with screws.
Never install the unit near a radiator or any
other heat source.
Never override or “cheat” electrical or mechanical interlock devices.
Never operate the equipment if you notice
unusual noises or odours. Disconnect the
power cord from the power source receptacle
and call your customer service engineer to
correct the problem.

2.1 Installation
2. Installation
1. Fit the two studs (1) on the collator, using an Allen
wrench.
2. Push the Corner stapler fully up against the collator and
make sure that the two studs enters into the openings (2)
as this will position the Corner stapler sideways.
3. Make sure that the collator main power switch is set in
off position and attach the connection cable (3) between
the corner and the collator.

4.1 Setting up the Corner stapler
1.Install the corner to the collator.
Make sure that the third party selection has been made.
The power on indicator on the corner stapler will indicate this.
2.Press the Test and calibration button on the collator a set will
enter the corner stapler.
3.Press the registration test button on the corner stapler control
panel and the registration tray will automatically move to the
inner position.
4.Open the plastic cover and loosen the registration rails by
squeezing at the green marks. Adjust to the correct size by
sliding the registration rails.
For proper alignment there should be no play between the
rails and paper.

5.Close the plastic cover and registration tray will move back to
the in / outfeed position.
6.Press the Manual operation button on the corner stapler and
the set will be stapled and ejected into the collator stacker
tray.
The Corner stapler is now ready for operation
4.2 Job recovery after misfeed in collator
The set will enter the corner stapler but will not be stapled.
This can be correct in two ways:
1.Check and correct the set in the corner stapler. Press the
manual operation button to staple the set and then resume
collating.
or:
2.Remove the incorrect set from the corner stapler and resume
collating.
Note: Press the Reset counter button on the collator shortly, to reduce
the total counter value by one.

4.3 Job recovery after misfeed in collator
1.Open plastic cover and press the Input housing latch to the
right to reset the missing staple indication.
2.Insert a sheet in the stapler and press the manual operation
button to verify that the sheet will be stapled.
3.Remove the cartridge and, if it is empty, replace it with a new
one according to the maintenance procedure 5.1.
4.If the staple cartridge is not emtpy, tear off 25 mm of staples,
insert the cartridge and press the manual operation button
2-5 times until stapling resume.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Removal/replacement of stapler cartridge
1. Open the corner stapler input housing to get access to the
stapler head.
2. Raise the stapler locking lever.
3. Remove the staple cartridge by sliding it backwards.
4. If the cartridge is empty, discard it and replace it with a new
one. Before replacing the cartridge, pull 25 mm (1inch) of
staples out of the cartridge and tear the staples downward
against the staple tear line. The staple tear is indicated by an
arrow on the side of the cartridge.
If there has been a misfeed, and if it is necessary to remove
the cartridge in order to clear the misfeed, pull 25 mm (1 inch)
of staples out of the cartridge and tear the staples downward
against the staple tear line before reinstalling the cartridge.
5. Insert the cartridge into the stapler head with the end of the
staples facing toward the head of the stapler mechanism.
Push it firmly ahead.
6. Hold the cartridge firmly in place and push down the cartridge
locking lever.
7. It is normal for the staples not to fully advance into the stapling
position after you install a staple cartridge.
Because of this, you need to make 2-5 actuations of the
stapler, using the manual operation button, before the stapling
resumes.
Note:Use only Plockmatic staples # 88 00 01 for reliable and
durable operation.

5.2 Cleaning the stapler heads
1.Open the Corner stapler input housing by pressing the input
housing latch, to get access to the stapler, and remove the
stapler cartridge.
For instructions see previous item 5.1.
2.Use a small soft brush to dislodge / remove any mylar and
glue residue in the staple cartridge area.
3.This is recommended to regularly when a new staple cartridge
is installed.
