Introduction
Your Over-the-Range microwave oven comes complete with an installation instruction kit which contains the following three pieces of information requir ed to install it.
Important Safety Information
Grounding Instructions
This appliance must be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of the electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current. This appliance is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded.
WARNING - Improper use of the grounding can result in a risk of electric shock.
Consult a qualified electrician or serviceman if the grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if doubt exists as to whether the appliance is properly grounded, and either:
1) If it is necessary to use an extension cord, use only a 3-wire extension cord that has a 3-blade grounding plug, and a 3-slot receptacle that will
accept the plutg on the appliance. The marked rating of the extension cord shall be equal to or greater than the electrical rating of the appliance, or Do not use an extension cord.
2) If the power supply cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or serviceman install an outlet near the appliance.
I. This installation instruction booklet, complete with diagrams on preparing your cabinets and microwave oven for installation.
II. The T op Cabinet Template, used to locate the power cord clearance hole, cabinet mounting holes and the vertical exhaust location.
III. Instead of The W all Mount T emplate, Wall Mounting Plate, used to locate the mounting plate holes and to locate the horizontal exhaust location. Please read all of the instructions thoroughly before installing your microwave oven.
NOTE: IT IS RECOMMENDED THA T TWO PEOPLE INST ALL THIS PRODUCT.

Safety Instructions
This product requir es a three prong gr ounded receptacle. The installer must perform a ground continuity check on the power outlet box before beginning the installation to insure that the outlet box is properly grounded. If not pr operly grounded, or if the outlet box does not meet the electrical requirements noted, (under ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS), a qualified electrician should be employed to correct any deficiencies.

Electrical Requirements
Product rating is 120 volts AC, 60Hertz, 14.6 amps, and 1.60 kilowatts. This product must be connected to a supply circuit of the proper voltage and frequency. Wire size must conform to the requirements of the National Electric Code or the prevailing local code for this kilowatt rating. The power supply cord and plug should be brought to a separate 20ampere branch circuit single grounded receptacle. The outlet box should be located near the cord entry point. The outlet box and supply circuit should be installed by a qualified electrician and conform to the National Electric Code or the
Power supply cord a) A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
b) Longer cord sets or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. c) If a long cord or extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance.
2) The extension cord must be a grounding type 3-wire cord, and
3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it
can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally .
This over-the-range oven was designed for use over ranges no wider than 30inches. It may be installed over both gas and electric cooking equipment.

Installation Hardware
The following is a list of parts you may need for installing your Over-the-Range microwave oven. You will find them packaged inside the microwave cooking cavity. Remove all parts from the oven cavity and compare them with the parts list and illustration to be sure that none are missing. Use this time to become familiar with each piece.

The following tools may be needed for installation of your microwave oven. Phillips screwdrivers, Electric Drill Motor , 1/2” & 5/8” Wood Bits & 3/16” Drill Bit, Saw to cut exhaust opening, (if needed) or Jig Saw , T in Snips (if needed), Pencil, T ape Measur e, Paper T ape & Duct Tape.

STEP1. Drill 3/16” diameter holes at A, B, C and D.
if you contact a wall stud at any of these locations, a lag screw will be installed at wall stud location. If no stud is contacted at locations A, B, C and D ; Drill 5/8” diameter holes for installation of toggle bolts.
NOTE: If no stud located at A, B, C or D, insert
a minumum of one lag screw into wall stud at any location indicated by E.
STEP2. (skip for vertical exhaust installation)
For horizontal exhaust installation, Cut opening for exhaust at shaded location marked “OUTSIDE EXHAUST(HORIZONTAL)”. Attach foam tape to backside of microwave mount bracket to contact horizontal ducting.
STEP3. Remove the wall template and position
the microwave mount bracket over the drilled holes,
install bracket with lag screws and/or toggle bolts. NOTE: TOP CABINET TEMPLATE instruction must be complete to proceed. STEP4. Hang the unit on the tabs at the bottom of
the mounting plate.
SEE THE INSTALLATION MANUAL, PAGE 6 – 7 STEP5. Thread powercord through the hole
at the bottom of the top cabinet. swing
the unit upward to meet the wall and top cabinet,
hold secure. STEP6. Place washers on the top cabinet.
Secure bolts to microwave cabinet.
INSTRUCTIONS D'INSTALLATION
ÉTAPE1 Percez des trous de 3/16" de diamètre aux points A, B, C et D.
Si vous entrez en contact avec un montant à l'un ou l'autre de ces points, vissez-y une vis tire-fond. Si vous ne frappez pas de montant, percez des trous de 3/16" de diamètre afin d'y insérer des vis à mur creux.
REMARQUE: s'il n'y a pas de montant derrière les points A, B, C et D,
insérez au moins une vis tire-fond dans le montant, à n'importe quel endroit indiqué par un "E".
ÉTAPE 2 (Sautez par-de sus cette étape si vous installez la ventilation
verticale.) Pour l'installation horizontale, découpez l'ouverture de l'échappement à l'endroit ombragé indiqué par le titre suivant: "VENTILATION PAR L'EXTÉRIEUR (HORIZONTALE)." Joignez le ruban autocollant en mousse à l'endos du support de fixation du four afin qu'il entre en contact avec le conduit horizontal.
ÉTAPE3 Retirez le gabarit mural et placez le support de fixation du fixation
du four au-dessus des trous percés, puis in tallez le support à l'aide des vis tire-fond et/ou des vis à mur creux.
REMARQUE: Les instructions du GABARIT DE L'ARMOIRE DU HAUT
doivent être complétées avant de continuer.
ÉTAPE4 Faites pendre l'appareil sur les languettes situées au bas de la plaque
demontage. RÉFÉREZ-VOUS AU MANUEL D'INSTALLATION, PAGES 11-12.
ÉTAPE5 Passez le cordon d'alimentation à travers le trou du bas de l'armoire;
balancez l'appareil vers le haut afin qu'il puisse entrer en contact avec le mur et l'armoire du haut, puis fixez en place.
ÉTAPE6 Placez les rondelles sur l'armoire du haut.
Serrez les boulons au boîtier du four à micro-ondes.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
STEP 1. Cut the edges of the template
at A,B and C, to fit in the recessed bottom of the top cabinet so that template will lie flat against the top cabinet.
STEP 2. Drill / " (15.875mm) diameter
holes at D and E. Cut out 2" (50.8mm) diameter hole for powercord at F
STEP 3. (Skip for horizontal exhaust
installation) Cut opening for vertical exhaust location.
STEP 5. Attach the filler blocks so that
the holes in each block line up with the corresponding holes in the cabinet. The filler blocks should be at the same levels as the bottom edge of the top cabinet.
STEP 4.
Remove the top cabinet template.

INSTRUCTIONS D'INSTALLATION

Mounting Space
Your Over-the-Range microwave oven r equires mounting space on a wall as shown.
1. A minimum of 30” between wall hung side cabinets is required for installation. Make sure the bottom edge of the top cabinet is at least 66” from the floor and 30” from the cooking surface.
2. For easier access to the hood lamp, the bottom of the microwave oven should be at least 2” above the range backsplash.
3. If you are going to vent your microwave oven to the outside, see exhaust duct preparation.
4. Designed to be installed in 30”wide cabinet opening.

Wall Construction
Your Over-the-Range microwave oven should be mounted against and supported by a flat, vertical wall. W all construction should be a minimum of 2” x 4” wall studding and 3/8” or mor e, thick drywall or plaster/lath. The oven must be attached to a minimum of one 2” x 4” wall stud. For proper installation the wall must be capable of supporting the cabinet load plus a minimum of 135 pounds, (the 85 pound weight of the microwave oven and load weight allowance of 50 pounds.) T o find studs, use one of the following methods:
I. Stud finder a magnetic device which locates nails.
II. Using a hammer , tap lightly across the mounting surface to find a solid sound. This will indicate a stud installation. After locating the stud(s), the center can be found by: Probing the wall with a small nail to find the edges of the stud and then placing a mark half way between the edges. The center of any adjacent studs should be 16” or 24” from this mark.
NOTE: Reference wall template for additional assistance.
