INSTRUCTIONS
With Use On Model MMC 5000 Microwave Oven.
OBSERVE ALL GOVERNING CODES AND ORDINANCES.

Model MMA27 And MMA30
STEP 1: Electrical Requirements
A. A 120-Volt, 60 Hz, AC, 15 ampere, fused electrical supply is required
(time-delay fuse or circuit breaker is recommended). However,ifyour
homehasacircuit wired and fused for 20 amperes, this is preferred. If
youareinstallinganewcircuit,onewiredandfusedfor20amperesis
recommended. It is also recommended that a separate circuit serving
only this appliance be provided. Do not usean extension cord.
B. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION: ELECTRICAL GROUND I S RE-
QUIRED ON THIS APPLIANCE. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, REMOVE THE POWER SUPPLY CORD GROUND
PRONG.

Foryourpersonalsafety,this appliancemust beproperlygroundedand
polarized. This appliance isequipped with a power supply cordhaving
a3-pronggroundingplug.Tominimizepossibleshockhazard,thecord
must be plugged into a mating 3-hole grounding type wall receptacle,
groundedinaccordance withthe NationalElectricalCode, local codes
and ordinances. If a mating wall receptacle is not available, it is the
personal responsibility and obligation of the customer to have a
properly grounded and polarized 3-hole wall receptacle installed by a
qualified electrician. (See figure 1).
STEP 2: C abinet Opening
Theopeningshouldbeperdimensionsdescribedbelow.Allcornersshould
besquare.Theflooroftheopeningmust beplywood and must be leveland
capable of supporting 80 lbs.

STEP 3: Assembly Of Intake Hood (See Figure 3)
A. Remove screw A.
B. Place rear intake hood against rear of microwave.
C. Align hole in rear intake hood and microwave unit, reinstall screw
removedinstepA.
Note: Route microwave cord through cable relief hole.
D. Placetop intakehoodsohole at front alignswithholeinmicrowaveunit
front.
E. Install 2² shoulder screw to attach top intake to microwave unit.
F. Install rear screw to attach top intake hood to rear intake.
NOTE: A 27² minimum wide cabinet must be provided to install Trim Kit
MMA27.
NOTE: A 30² minimum wide cabinet must be provided to install Trim Kit
MMA30.

STEP 4: Assembly Of Exhaust Hood (See Figure 3)
A. Remove screw B.
B. Place side exhaust hood against the rear and side of microwave unit.
C. Align hole in side exhaust and mirowave unit, reinstall screw removed
in step A.
D. Install side exhaust front screw to attach side exhaust hood to the
microwaveunit.
E. Place top exhaust hoodso hole at frontaligns with hole in microwave
unit.
F. Install 2² shoulderscrewtoattach topexhausthoodtomicrowave unit.
G. Installrearscrewtoattachtop exhaust hood to sideexhausthoodside.
STEP 5: Installation Of Microwave “L” Bracket
(See Figure 3)
A. Attach “L” bracket with #10 screw to lower rear panel of microwave.
STEP 6: Installation Of Microwave Mount Bracketry
(See Figure 2)
Side Brackets
A. Measure 14 5/8² up from the bottom of the cutout tothe bottom edge
of the side mounting brackets.
B. Use two flat head screws to attach each side mountingbracket to the
cabinet side walls as shown.
NOTE: Side mounting bracket should bepushed flushto cabinet face.
Microwave Base Bracket
A. With dimension “B” from figure 2, measure and mark location for
microwave base bracket.
B. With thetwo trusshead screws, attach microwave basebracket tothe
floor of cabinet as shown.
STEP 7: Installation Of Microwave
A. Plug power cord of oven into receptacle.
B. Slidethemicrowavefeetintolocatingslotsinmicrowavebasebracket.
NOTE: Microwave rear cabinet should be flush to microwave base
bracket rear flange.
C. Slide “L” bracket over the two shoulder screws on bottom side of
microwave.
D. With two flat head screws, attach “L” bracket and microwave base
bracket to cabinet face. (See figure 4)
E. Attach trim assembly as shown in figure 4. Insert bottom of trim
assemblyintolower supportandrotateupward.Marklocationofscrew.
Remove trim and drill 9/64 pilot holeat marked locations and reinstall
trim, attach top of trim to cabinet with 2 flat head screws.
INSTALLATION ABOVE LOWER OVEN
NOTE: When installing this kit above a built-in oven, check built-in oven
installationinstructions to determinecutout dimensionsfor the(lower)wall
oven.
NOTE:Foranew installation,the48² heightdimensionto thebottom of the
cutoutforthemicrowaveovenisrecommended.Thisplacesthemicrowave
oven bottom at approximately 50² from the floor. See figure 5.
CAUTION
When the microwave oven is installedabove a walloven,
theminimumheightdimension fromthe bottomofthewall
ovencutouttothebottomofthemicrowavecutoutmustbe
maintained.

installedinaccordancewithManufacturer’sInstallation Instructions.These
include models MEW5527 & MEW6527.
MMA30maybeusedwithmicrowavemodelMMC5000installedabove30²
wall oven models bearing manufacturer No. E25378, when installed in
accordance with Manufacturer’s Installation Instructions. These include
models MEW5530 & MEW6530.
Manufacturer’s No. can be obtained from the serial plate on the walloven.
