1. General description
This Download-box has two objectives compared to the previous download. Increased download speed and eliminating the use of master phones. The speed is accomplished by using a fast synchronous connection between the Dl -box and the target. The need for a master-phone is eliminated, by using a FLASH Card to store the software packages for a variety of phones one a single FLASH card.
2. Features
2.1 Download Box
Single download
This feature lets the user select a software package in the flashcard to be downloaded and a target port at which the target MS/UE is connected.
Multi download
This feature lets the user select a software package in the flashcard to be downloaded. The download will be conducted on all four ports progressively.
Flashcard browse
This feature lets the user browse the content of the flashcard inserted in the DL -box.
LED indicators
The four MS/UE ports each have a LED indicator to show when a connection to a MS/UE is busy and thus should not be disconnected.

For the DL -box two user interfaces is defined one for the box it self and one for the PCapplication.
3.1.1 Elements of the user interface
MMI concept.
The MMI is menu driven to be easy to use and to be feasible with five keys. For all windows where the user shall select something from a menu the up/down arrow keys select the next/previous menu item. Ok or right key selects the highlighted item. Left arrow cance ls the window and takes the user back to the previous window.

The five keys forms a navigation key set as known from the MX7810 MS i.e. arrow up, arrow down, arrow left, arrow right and ok. Arrow left doubles as cancel.
LED indicators.
The four LED indicators are lit when the corresponding port is busy i.e. a SW-package is being downloaded to the MS/UE connected to the port. The phone should not be disconnected while the LED is lid. Should the phone, by accident, be disconnected while downloading, the download procedure should be rerun.

4. File handling
Storing files on MMC card.
To store files on the MMC card, the user need a PC with a MMC card reader installed. The MMC-card reader works like other drives on the PC and can be handled by any file manager program. When storing a new software for the phone, the file must be saved in the root of the MMC card, because the Dl-box dosn’t look for files in subdirectories on the card.
Deleting files
Software that isn’t used anymore can be deleted from the PC through the MMC card reader. WARNING : there is a file Named Flash loader.fl stored on the MMC card. This file must never be deleted because this file is necessary for the download procedure.
