Safety
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
Read all instructions and retain this instruction manual.1.
Do not touch hot surfaces. Use oven gloves when removing cover or handling hot 2. containers.
Be careful, burns can occur from touching hot parts, hot water, steam or food.3.
Position appliance away from walls and cabinets to prevent damage from steam.4.
To prevent burns, remove lid slowly with the inside of the lid pointing away from 5. you and let the steam escape gradually.
Use oven gloves or a cloth when removing the lid, rice bowl and steamer bowls.6.
Do not reach over the appliance while it is generating steam.7.
When checking food, use a long handled spoon or tongs.8.
Always use sucient water for the steaming time.9.
Unplug the appliance when not in use. Unplug and allow it to cool before 10. cleaning.
To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse mains cable, mains plug or 11. base unit in water.
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near 12. children.
Keep the appliance out of the reach of children when in use.13.
Do not operate appliance with a damaged mains cable or mains plug, or after 14. any appliance malfunctions or damage. Return appliance to authorised service facility for repair.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with 15. reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliances by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the 16. appliance.
Never immerse the appliance, mains cable or mains plug in water or any other 17. liquid.
Use the appliance on a stable, level work surface away from water.18.
Do not unplug the appliance by pulling on the mains cable.19.
If the mains cable is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service 20. agent, or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
Do not place the appliance or any part of the unit near a heat source or in an 21. oven.

Do not allow the mains cable to hang over the edge of the work surface, as it 22. could be accidentally pulled.
Do not use the appliance if the appliance or mains cable is damaged.23.
Do not line the water basin with aluminium foil.24.
Do not use outdoors.25.
Use of accessory attachments not recommended.26.
Do not let mains cable touch hot surfaces.27.
Do not place near hot gas or electric burner or in heated oven.28.
Caution when moving appliance containing hot food or other hot liquids.29.
Lift and open the cover carefully to avoid scalding, and allow water to drip into 30. the appliance.
Do not place the appliance directly under cabinets when operating as this 31. product produces large amounts of steam.
Some water will remain in the water basin after the steamer has turned o; this is 32. normal.
Do not use any steam parts in microwave or on heated surface.33.
Fill the water basin with water before plugging the mains cable otherwise the 34. appliance may be damaged.
Always ll the water basin between the Max. and Min. water level before 35. operation. Do not rell during operation as the hot water and steam will scald.
Let the appliance cool down for 30 mins before relling the water or storing the 36. appliance.

Electrical Information
Before using this appliance ensure that the voltage of your electricity supply is suitable for that indicated on the rating plate of the appliance.
THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED.
The ultimate disconnection from the power source is the mains plug. Always make sure it is easily accessible to be unplugged in the event of an emergency.
This appliance is tted with a fused three pin mains plug to BS 1363 which will be suitable for use in all houses tted with mains sockets to current specications.
If the tted mains plug is not suitable, remove the fuse and dispose of the mains plug safely, immediately after removing it from the mains cable.
Fitting a new mains plug
If for any reason you need to t a new mains plug, the mains cable must be connected as shown here. The wires in the mains cable tted to this appliance are coloured in accordance with the following code:
If the colours of the wires in the mains cable of this appliance do not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your mains plug, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured
Green and Yellow: MUST be connected • to the terminal which is marked with the letter E (Earth) or symbol
or
coloured Green.
Blue: MUST be connected to the • terminal which is marked with the letter N (Neutral) or coloured Blue or Black.
Brown MUST be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L (Live) • or coloured Brown or Red.
Before retting the mains plug cover, check that there are no cut or stray strands of wire inside the mains plug. Only BSI or ASTA approved 13 Amp BS1362 fuses should be used. If you are in any way unsure which mains plug or fuse to use, always refer to a qualied electrician.

MAKE SURE THE OUTER SHEATH OF THE MAINS CABLE IS SECURELY HELD BY THE CLAMP

13 AMP FUSE
After replacing or changing a fuse on a moulded mains plug which has a fuse cover, the cover must be retted to the mains plug, the steamer must not be used without a fuse cover. If lost, replacement fuse covers can be obtained from an electrical shop.
