MASTERFLEX® 07553-06 Replacement Gear Kit

1. Remove the four cover screws and the cover. It will be necessary to remove or loosen the two bolts
holding the mounting plate onto the cover due to interference between the bolts and the gear case.

2. Remove the old gear assembly by simply pulling it out.

3. Thoroughly clean the old grease out of the gear case and cover.

4. Remove the thrust washers from the old gear assembly, noting their locations.

5. Assemble the thrust washers onto the new gear assembly, in the same positions as they were on the
old assembly.

6. Insert the new nylon gear assembly into the bearing inside the gear case.

7. Grease the gears, using the supplied grease, by filling the teeth on the gears.

CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY GREASE TO THE SHAFT OF THE GEAR.

8. Replace the gear cover, gasket and the four screws.

9. The drive is now ready for operation.

NOTE:

A 3 amp fuse (part no. B-1115-33) is included. Use of this fuse as a replacement for the 4 amp fuse in
115 VAC products (models 07553 and 07520) will provide a more rapid electronic protection for the gear
train during inadvertent tubing jams.
