PTFE CHECK VALVE INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
Two PTFE Check Valves are available with the following operating characteristics:
07090-45 07090-65
Flow rate (Max.) 7 L/min. 1.25 L/min.
Port Connection 1/4" NPT(M) 1/8" NPT(M)
Cracking pressure < 1 psig < 1 psig
Max. pressure @ inlet 75 psig 75 psig
Max. differential pressure (across valve) 10 psig 20 psig
Flow coefficient, C
Max. reverse leakage 9 ml/min. 4 ml/min.
(@ rated pressure)
Note that a small arrow on the valve body indicates the direction of flow. Both valves are made with all
PTFE parts, except that the 07090-65 Valve uses a borosilicate glass check ball.
Installing your PTFE check valves requires some care regarding the handling of PTFE threads and the
application of these valves:
1. When connecting piping to valves, use an open end wrench on the outer flats of the valve to prevent
rotation of the valve halves or the valve assembly.
v 0.76 0.08
2. Tighten the female threaded fitting onto the valves using 7 in.-lb. (medium hand-tighten) of torque.
3. A pressure relief valve should be used to limit the system pressures to maximums indicated. Consult
you distributor for specific recommendations.
4. Before placing valves into service, test the plumbing system with an inert fluid under anticipated
operating pressure.
5. Some finite back flow leakage will be experienced with these valves, therefore they are not
recommended for use in an application where a positive shut-off is required.
