6 MAINTENANCE
6.1 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
To preserve your surgical light’s original performance and reliability, annual maintenance and
inspections should be performed as follows:
During the guarantee period: by a MAQUET technician or MAQUET-approved distributor.
Outside the guarantee period: by a MAQUET technician, MAQUET-approved distributor, or a
hospital technician trained in servicing the MAQUET SA products referred to herein. (Please
contact your dealer to receive the necessary technical training).
For information on the video components (camera, control box, etc.) refer to the operator’s
manual for the Prismavision or ORCHIDE camera.
6.2 BASIC MAINTENANCE
Daily checks (user)
Solutions are listed in Section 11
Check the lightheads for chipped paint, impact marks
and any other damage.
Check the stability/drift of the main arms and the spring
arms.
Check that the spring arm remains in position.
Three checkpoints: bottom, middle, top.
Check whether the sterilisable handle clicks and locks in
place correctly; replace it if not.
Check whether the green LED lights up when the
lighthead is turned on.

Check whether the LEDs operate correctly.
Check whether the system switches correctly between
Surgical light/Ambient light and Standard mode/AIM
mode (if option installed).
Monthly checks
(PowerLED power supply units with battery backup only)
Check the lightheads for chipped paint, impact marks
and any other damage.
Check whether the backup power supply turns on and
the light operates correctly if a power cut were to occur.
LED is orange (see page 18).
Annual checks
(must be performed by an authorised technician)
Check the verticality of the suspension tube.
Check whether the attachment screws on the suspension tube are tight and the seals are in place.
Make sure stops are fitted on the spring arms supporting the flat panels.
Check the snap rings on all the lightheads.
The light source is a high-intensity light
source. Do not look directly into it.
