"MAC 6" HEAD MASTER VALVE KIT (K058/K059)
Installation Instructions
If either a Bohn or McQuay "Mac 6" condenser is used with a Manitowoc GY1284NS, the head master valve must be installed on the
condenser at the time of installation. Two kits are available from Manitowoc, K058 for the Bohn condenser and K059 for the
McQuay condenser.
Installation of K058 on the Bohn Condenser
1. Lubricate female fittings with refrigerant oil and install valve assembly on the right-hand set of quick-connect fittings on the
"Mac 6".
2. Remove the middle and right-hand bottom screws on the condenser bulkhead mounting plate; install mounting bracket and
replace screws.
3. Using bolts, washers, and nuts provided, bolt the enclosure/head master assembly to the mounting bracket.
4. Bolt the support bracket to the enclosure. Locate and drill two 5/16" holes in bottom rail of the "Mac 6" and bolt the support
bracket to it.
5. Install the side cover to the enclosure using the screws provided.
6. Install the top cover to the assembly using the screws provided.
7. The McDonald's MRL**502 remote tubing line set attaches to the male fittings provided on the head master kit. Refrigerant oil
must be used to lubricate the fitting.
8. Leak check all joints.

Installation of K059 on the McQuay Condenser:
1. Lubricate female fittings with refrigerant oil an d install valve assembly on any one of the three sets of quick-connect fittings
provided on the "Mac 6".
2. Remove the two right-hand screws on the condenser bulkhead mounting plate, install mounting bracket, and replace screws.
3. Using bolts, washers, and nuts provided, bolt the enclosure/head master assembly to the mounting bracket.
4. Install the top cover to the assembly using the screws provided.
5. The McDonald's MRL**502 remote tubing line set attaches to the male fittings provided on the head master kit. Refrigerant oil
must be used to lubricate the fittings.
6. Leak check all joints.
7. Use large screwdriver, socket extension, etc. to support the enclosure when torquing down the refrigerant line fittings.
