INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect the positive (+) battery cable from the positive battery terminal.
2. Locate the VIC injector harness in your kit. Remove existing injector harness and install the new VIC injector harness (see figure 1, and figure 1A.)
3. Locate the VIC power cable assembly in your kit (see figure 2.)
3a. Connect red wire of power cable assembly to positive terminal of car battery.
3b. Connect black wire directly to negative car batter terminal. NOTE: If chassis ground or engine block ground is used. Be sure that ground between engine block/chassis and battery is good.
3c. Connect pink wire of VIC power cable assembly to 12V switched power. NOTE: Be sure the 12V switched power source has power during engine cranking.
4. Connect 3-pin male Packard connector from the VIC power cable assembly to 3-pin female Packard connector on VIC. (See figure 3)
5. Connect 10-pin male Packard connector from VIC to 10-pin female Packard connector on injector harness. (See figure 3)
6. If using an ACCEL/DFI Spark/Fuel Management ECU
skip this step. Splice any one injector signal wire from your ECU to the round 5 pin Packard connector

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the ACCEL/DFI Variable Injector Controller. The Variable Injector Controller (VIC) unit was designed to give the user the ability to adjust individual cylinder fuel delivery on the fly. Without complex computerized tuning tools, the user can extend fuel delivery time to each cylinder by up to 25%. The VIC also gives the user the ability to use high flow, low impedance injectors in systems designed for high impedance injection only, such as the ACCELnon-sequential ECU. (NOTE: low impedance injectors are usually around 4.7 Ohms in resistance or less. High impedance injectors range from 12 to 16 Ohms in resistance.)
This manual is written to assist you with the installation of your Variable Fuel Controller. Please review it carefully, before beginning your installation. If you have additional questions, call us at our ACCEL/DFI technical service number (216) 398-8300 EXT 5, between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday (Eastern Standard Time).
APPLICATION
The VIC is designed for Batch Fire Electronic Fuel Injection systems ONLY. Your VIC is compatible with the following EFI systems:
1. ACCEL/DFI Spark/Fuel Management (non-sequential).
2. GM/Chevy Batch Fire ECU 1991 and earlier.
3. Ford Batch Fire ECU 1990 and earlier.
4. Haltech Batch Fire ECU’s.
5. Motech Batch Fire ECU’s.
