LW Scientific Tachometer User Manual

Hand Held Tach
Instruction Manual
Introduction
Test your centrifuge for accuracy using the LW Scientific handheld digital tachometer. Be certain that you are spinning fluids at the correct CLIA recommended speeds. How do you know your variable speed centrifuge is spinning urines at 400 g’s? Spinning too slowly may give inadequate results... spinning too fast may damage cell structures. This unit is easy to use with results in only one second. The tachometer will work on any centrifuge with a clear port in the lid allowing the strobe light to reflect off of the rotor.
Installation & Setup
Cut 1/2 inch of reflective tape.
1
Affix the tape onto the top surface of the rotor below the view port in the lid.
2
Close the lid and turn the centrifuge on to a desired speed.
3
Aim the Digital Tachometer through the view port towards the reflective tape.
4
Press the gray measuring button to check the speed.
5
The RPM value will read directly on the digital display screen.
6
Pressing the MEMORY button will recall the last registered speed.
