Introduction
Thank you for choosing CADMAN® P3D / L3D
This guide will assist you during the installation of the software.
Please take the time to read it carefully so you fully understand
the required actions you need to take during the installation.
Please ensure before starting that your system is operating in a
Stable way and that it is not infected with any virus – like
programs or processes.
If you are not familiar with basic windows commands please
contact
your system administrator to assist you.
Should you have any suggestions to improve this guide please
contact the LVD Company software division.

Different types of installation
1. When to install as server?
Install as server when you multiple licenses and you want this pc
to hold the database and the sql server. (make sure this pc is
performing well enough to maintain a good working speed.)
The server will share the database and the sql server so a fast
network connection is necessary (preferable a 100Mbit or better
connection.)
2. When to install as Client?
Install as client when you have already successfully setup a
server pc and you want to connect to this server.
During the installation several Message Boxes will be displayed.
Please read them carefully as they contain important
information for a successful installation.

Pre – installation information
Steps to follow for this installation.
(All steps are explained in detail on the following pages.)
1. On the server
a. Installation of the SQL Server (Express version)
b. Installation of the Cadman P3D /L3D server files
2. On the client Pc’s
a. Installation of the Cadman P3D/L3D program
b. Creating the database.
c. Installation of the machine files.

SQL Server (2005/2008) Express Installation
This installation will not cause any harm or incompatibility, when
you already have an existing SQL server installation.
Insert the LVD SQL CADMAN Server DVD in the DVD-Rom Drive.
If autorun is enabled, the following screen will appear.
If autorun is not enabled you can start the installer by browsing to
the cd via Windows Explorer and Double click on the
LVDCadmanServerSetup.exe file in the main folder of the CD.

Following screen will appear:
SQL 2005 is selected by default.
In case of Windows 7, SQL 2008 is selected by default.
You are free to choose any version.
Click the CADMAN Server button to continue.
If you need to use a custom connection to this SQL :
<servername>\CADMAN as sql instance name
Login : sa
Password : Cadman@LVD2005 for SQL2005
Password : Cadman@LVD2008 for SQL2008
Do NOT select the SQL 2012 option.

If .NET framework was already installed, the system will proceed
immediately with this step.
System will now continue with the SQL Server installation.

Once this comes up, the server is ready !
You can close the remaining open windows. A reboot may be
necessary !

Server INSTALLATION
Insert the Cadman P3D / L3D in the DVD-rom drive.
Following screen will be displayed.
Choose Cadman® P3D/L3D., read the message box and press
“OK”

Select Cadman® P/L setup, read the message box and press
“OK”
NOTE: When you are working under Windows XP or Windows
Vista, make sure you have full administrator rights. Else you can
not install the program.

Please select the desired language and continue the installation.
Fill in the company name and the last 6 digits of the serial
number from the wibukey dongle. (Printed on the dongle)

During this you will be presented with various screens from
which you will see an example in chronologic following.
Please take note that this part of the installation can take up to
60 minutes depending of the speed of the Pc where the
installation is being made on.

Once all files are installed, the system will ask for the password
file.
Following screen will be displayed.
On the server you don’t need the password. You may select “NO”
to continue
Click Finish to continue.
The Server installation is now finished.

Client Pc Installation
Insert the Cadman P3D / L3D in the DVD-rom drive.

database server on your network. Browse to it, and select it, then
click OK to confirm.

file.
Following screen will be displayed.
Select “YES” to install the key file.
The Key file is delivered on the USB stick in the package.
The file is located in the
\CADMAN-L3D\Password\<dongle number> folder for L3D
\CADMAN-P3D\Password\<dongle number> folder for P3D
(<Dongle number> will be the serial number of the dongle)

Once the password is installed, following screen will be
displayed.
Click Finish to continue.
Once you click finish, the actual installation of the program files
is ready. The system will now start with the database creation
process.

Database creation:
Please select “create new database”
You can also do this step at any other time, to create a second
database, or to import/ move a database
You can do this by selecting :
“Start all programs Cadman Configuration tool”

Select an appropriate name for your database and press “ok”
For the database name, please do not use special signs
(like @ ? ~ etc….) (Use Characters: A-Z, a-z, 0-9, ‘-‘)
Keep the name simple, for instance company name.
During installation a SQL instance was installed.
The instance name is : CADMAN
Login = sa
Password = Cadman@LVD2005 (for SQL 2005)
Password = Cadman@LVD2008 (for SQL 2008)

The system will now create your database. This can take several
minutes to complete.
If everything is ok, following message will popup.

Installation of the machine configuration.
When you have created an empty database (see previous page)
you need to install the machine configuration files.
You need to do this step on ALL client pc’s.
Before you install the machine configuration file please close the
Cadman P3D / L3D Software.
Insert the installation cd.
Select CADMAN P3D/L3D

setup.

Press the
“SETUP”
button.
Setup will now install the machine. This only takes a few seconds
up to one minute. Once the screen disappears, you can start the
software and all of the machine configuration will be installed.
If the system cannot find the setup file, you can find it on the
USB stick delivered with the package in the
Cadman L3D-P3D\Machines\<machine serial> folder
Should this message appear, press the “YES to all” button.
If you have multiple machines, the system will detect it and
install them one by one in the correct order.

Wibukey setup (see also in the wibukey installation guide)
When the software is installed and the pc is rebooted it is now
the time to attach the Wibukey.
After attaching the key to the port, your windows operating
system will come up with the message to install the necessary
drivers (Plug and Play windows feature). (this only applies to USB
dongles !)
Parallel keys do not need these steps. only attach to the port.
Leave to the “recommended”
setting. (Automatically install
the software)
Press “next” to continue.
Your windows system is now
searching for the driver. (This
can take several minutes
depending on the speed of the
computer.

Select the driver that is
located in the windows
directory.
Press “next” to continue.
Finished installing the
USB drivers.
Press “finish” to quit.
NOTE: When attaching the USB dongle to any other free USB port
on which the dongle was not attached before, these steps will
need to be repeated.
