GX 550®Multiservice
WAN Switch
Scale ATM networks and increase your capacity to deliver ATM, IP/MPLS, and frame relay services at the network edge. Designed for the core, the GX 550®Multiservice WAN Switch provides the availability, service-aware routing, and high-speed switching you require at the heart of your multiservice network. With optical interfaces and DWDM support, the GX 550®switch can connect directly to your optical network. This enables you to move statistical multi-plexing into your transmission facility— helping to create more cost-efficient data transport. Expand service functionality into low-speed native ATM, Private Line and voice transport applications with the GX 550®Extender Shelf (ES).
Applications
• Scale ATM networks to OC-48c/STM-16
• Transport ATM and IP/MPLS
• Provide Circuit Emulation Services (CES), ATM services and unchannelized access with the GX 550®ES
Benefits
• Create new revenue opportunities through multiservice capabilities
• Provide ATM-level QoS for all multiservice traffic
• Balance core and access functions for improved ROI
• Simplify network management and reduce operating costs with Navis
®
network management software
Features
• Protocol-independent multiservice switching— Flexibility to change your service mix to meet demand
• Small footprint —Scale to 25 Gbps full duplex capacity (32 Gbps for IP/MPLS) to provide 50/64 Gbps capacity per rack
