ALA-4TB / ALA-8TB

ALARMING BASE STATION

TECHNICAL DATA SHEET

Models ALA-4TB and ALA-8TB are four and eight zone
alarming base stations and are a part of an audio
monitoring system that is activated by sound. Remote
speaker/microphones detect sounds that exceed a pre-set
threshold level, based on frequency and sound pressure.

When a noise occurs that exceeds the threshold level, the
Louroe Microphone in the immediate area picks up the
sound and alarms the
ALA-4TB/ALA-8TB Base Station. A two second alarm
tone and a lighted LED identify the zone. Personnel can
both listen-in and talkback to the area. A hand-held
microphone for talkback connects directly to the front
panel (included). Each zone has a dry contact relay
closure for activating a camera or other annunciations.
The person at the remote speaker/microphone can
communicate hands-free with personnel at the base
station. After the situation has been handled, pressing the
re-set button cancels the alarm and lighted LED of that
zone.

These units are of panel construction and mount in a
standard 19” rack. All controls and indicators are located
on the front panel. All external wiring, except hand-held
talkback microphone and headphone, are at the rear
panel. All Louroe Speaker/Microphones (Model TLI, TLO,
TLM, TLMC, TLSP, and TLSP-PB) are compatible with the
ALA-4TB and ALA-8TB,
Speaker/Microphones.

The installation shall include a modularly constructed audio alarm system, which shall be capable of
going into an audio and visual alarm state when specified frequency characteristics and pre­determined sound level pressures occur.

The base station shall be completely self-contained, with monitoring and alarm facilities and power
supplies included.

The base station shall be a LOUROE Model ALA-4TB or ALA-8TB and provide the following features
and functions:

The system shall be continuously listening for duress sounds in all audio
zones. Scanning equipment is not acceptable

+

The monitored zones will use high quality electret condenser VERIFACT
Microphones with 8W, 70V Speakers for providing bi-directional audio with
the ALA-4TB/ALA-8TB. Speakers that serve as microphones are not

acceptable

+

Base station shall have ability to monitor more than one zone at a time

+

Base station shall be capable of listening-in to a zone when not in an alarm
state

+

The base station shall be capable of handling a minimum of 4 zones (ALA-4TB),
with up to 6 speaker/microphones per zone using an MLA-6 Mixer, and have a
maximum capability of 8 zones (ALA-8TB)
