INSTALLATION

1.

Please use the enclosed srew driver only and be
carefull not to overtighten the small screws enclosed!
Remove top and bottom cover from HDD housing.

Verwenden Sie bitte den beiliegenden kleinen
Schraubendreher und schrauben die kleinen
Schrauben vorsichtig ein ohne sie zu
überdrehen!
Entfernen Sie die obere und untere
Gehäusehälfte vom Festplattenträger.

Veuillez utiliser le tournevis inclus et ne forcez
pas sur les petites vis!
Retirez la part ie supérieu re et inférieure d u
boîtier.

Attach top and bottom cover and tighten screws
carefully.

Schrauben Sie die obere und untere
Gehäusehälften wieder fest. Achten Sie darauf
die kleinen Schräubchen nicht zu überdrehen!

Fermez la partie inférieure et supérieure et vissez
les éléments san s forcer.

Your 2.5” HDD m ust be jumpered to M A S TER
position. A ttach your 2.5“ HDD to the 44 way IDC
connector and fix it to the HDD housing wi th the
enclosed screws.
Important! HDD must not be more than 9.5mm i n
height.

Ihre 2,5” festplat t e muss auf die MAST E R­Position gejumpert sein. Befestigen Sie ihre 2,5“
Festplatte am IDC 44 Pol Sockel. Das Geh äuse ist
nur für 2,5“ Platten mit einer Maximalhöhe von
9,5mm geeignet! Verwenden Sie die beiliegenden
Schrauben um Ihre Platte am mittleren
Gehäuseteil festzuschrauben.

Votre disque dur doit être réglé sur la position
« MASTER ».
Connectez ensuite le disque 2, 5“ au connecteu r
IDC 44 pôles et fixez-le avec les vis fournies.
IMPORTANT: Le d isque ne d oit pas excéder
9,5mm de hauteur.

OPERATION (ENGLISH)

POWER REQUIREMENT

Modern 2.5” HDDs with lo w po wer requirem ent may be
operated even without the enclosed PS/2 power splitter
cable. I f operati o n o f the HDD is err atric p lease use the
enclosed PS/2 power splitter cabl e connected to the PS/2
port of your co mputer. For HDDs wi th higher po wer
consumption ( >500mA) it may be necessary to use an
external power supply to power up the HDD in the external
case properly. Please contact LINDY for an appropriate
power adapter.

Driver Installation

Modern operating systems like W i ndows XP, 2000, ME
already include the necessary drivers if your USB 2.0 Card
is install ed correctly and dr i vers are up to date. If t he
external HDD Drive is recognized correctly as a USB 2.0
device please do not install dr i vers again.
Please refer to the enclosed Software Installation Manual
for installation in other sit uat ions.

STROMVERSORGUNG

Moderne 2,5“ Festplatten mit niedrigen Strombedarf
können in den meisten Fällen ohne zusätzliches
Stromversorgungskabel betrieben werden. Wenn die
Festplatte jedoch nicht einwandfrei funktioniert oder eine
hohen Strombedarf (>500mA) hat, sollte immer das
beiliegende Stromversorgungs-Y-Adapterkabel verwendet
werden. Sollte jedoch ein Notebook nicht in der Lage sein,
die notwendige Versorgungsspannung über den USB- und
PS/2-Port zur Verfügung zu st ellen, so kann auch ein
externes Netzteil verwendet werden, z. B. LINDY
Artikelnummer 70224 ( Weitbereichsnetzteil 90-240V, mit
Euro Stecker).

TREIBERINSTALLATION

Moderne Betriebssysteme wie Windows XP, ME, 2000 (mit
installierter US B 2.0 K arte und akt uellen Treibern) haben
bereits alle notwendigen Treiber an Board. Sollte das
externe Laufwerk hier bereits als USB 2.0 Device erkannt
werden und funktionieren, so sollte keine erneute
Treiberinstallation vorgenommen werden. In allen anderen
Fällen gehen Sie bitte vor wie im Software Installation
Manual beschrieben.

PUISSANCE NECESSAIRE

Les disques durs 2.5” classiques avec une faible
conso mmation d’énergie peuvent être utilisé s s a n s le câb le
d’alimentati on Y PS/2 f our ni. Si le disque dur se comporte
de manière étrange, veuillez utiliser ce câble.
Pour des disques durs consommant davant age de
puissance (>500mA) il sera nécessaire de connecter une
alim entati on externe supplémentaire. Veuillez contacter
LINDY pour les alimentations correspondantes. En général,
les alimentati ons LI NDY pouvant convenir sont les prises
secteur spéciales pour l’Angleterre et l’alimentation 70224
pour le continent Européen à connexion Euro.

Installation du pilote

Les systèmes d’exploitation actuels comme Windows XP,
2000, ME incluent directement le pilote USB 2.0 et il sera
mis à j our aut omatiquement. Si l e disque dur externe est
reconnu correctement en tant que périphérique USB 2.0
n’essayez pas de réinstaller le pilote.
Veuillez vous référer au manuel fourni pour l’installation
des pilotes sous d’autres systèmes.
