Please read this booklet before using your scale.Do not place your scale on a soft, wet or slippery floor.
It is recommended you place your scale on the solid and level floor.
Place your scale on a solid level flooring surface. Your
scale contains delicate, high-precision parts. Avoid extremes in temperature, humidity, direct sunlight, shock, moisture and dust.
Do not step on to your scale with wet feet. Make certain
that feet are dry to prevent slipping or serious injury.
Gently step onto the center portion of your scale.Do not place feet on the display window.Holding the measurement switch for extended periods
will shorten battery life.
Indications for Use
The ProFIT and IntelliSCALE scale is designed to be used at home by adults.

The scale complies with the statutory EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) directive 89/336/EEC. Note: The displayed value may
be adversely affected under extreme electromagnetic influences.

The following four measurements can be selected by the function switch.
The scale has an "automatic-power-off" function to turn off power after no
operation for 10 seconds.
Refer to "Normal Measurement" and "Measuring a baby or an animal". The function to measure your weight, the weight of a baby or animal.
Refer to "BMI Indication". BMI is a useful indicator of obesity and malnutrition in adults.
Refer to "Memory Function". Up to 31 weight data measurements can be stored in memory. The difference from the previous result is displayed automatically.
Refer to "Target Function".The difference between the preset target weight and the current weight can be displayed.

Caution
Insert the battery with the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals properly
aligned with the corresponding symbols in the Battery Compartment.
Improper installation of the batteries may cause battery leakage.Replace four batteries with new ones, when symbol is displayed.Do not mix used and new batteries. It may result in damage to the scale or
shorten battery life.
The battery life is dependant upon the environmental temperature, battery
performance and usage.
Remove the batteries from the battery compartment, when the scale is not
to be used for a long time. They may leak and damage your scale.
The battery life of accessory batteries may be shorter than new ones.
Steps for Installing (or Replacing) Batteries
1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the underside of the scale by gently pushing on the arrow and lifting the cover backward.
2. Place four new batteries with positive (+) and negative (-) terminals properly aligned with the corresponding symbols in the battery compartment.
3. Replace the cover by sliding it into the compartment and gently pressing into place.
Installing (or Replacing) Batteries
This symbol is displayed, when the measurement display is stable.
Low battery mark. If this mark is displayed, replace the batteries with new ones.
The arrow symbol indicates the function that is displayed.

Measuring Your Weight
1 Set the slide switch to "WEIGHT".
2 Press the measurement switch gently.
All display segments are visible for several seconds. Wait until the display 0.0 lb (0.00 kg) and stable symbol appear.
3Wait until the symbol appears.
Step on the scale gently and stand still during measurement.
Note: If the display 0.0 lb (0.00kg) is visible for approximately 10 seconds, the scale will automatically turn off.
4Your weight is displayed after the mark
appears.
The scale will turn off automatically.
5Step off the scale.

Measuring a Baby or a Small Animal
1 Set the slide switch to "WEIGHT".
2 Press the measurement switch gently and
step on your scale.
All display segments are indicated for several seconds. Step on the scale without any baby or animal in your hands before displaying 0.0 lb (0.00kg).
3Have the infant or animal placed.
Stay on the scale and have the infant or animal placed securely in your arms within 10 seconds after the scale is displaying 0.0.lb (0.00kg) and
symbol. Keep still during the measurement
until the stable symbol is displayed.
4 The weight of the infant or animal can be
read after the stable symbol is displayed.
After approximately five seconds, the scale will automatically power off.
5Step off the scale.

The Memory Function

Up to 31 weight data measurements can be stored in memory. The 32nd data measurement is stored by deleting the oldest stored measurement. The difference from the last stored measurement and the current measure­ment is automatically displayed.
Storing a Current Weight.
1 Set the slide switch to "MEMORY".
2 Press the measurement switch gently.
The last weight is displayed.
3Step on your scale.
Gently step on your scale after the 0.0 lb (0.00kg) and stable symbol are visible. When the stable symbol disappears, the measurement sequence has initiated. Stand still during the measurement. When the dis­play 0.0 lb (0.00kg) has remained visible for approximately ten seconds, the scale will automatically power off.
4 The weight can be read after displaying
the stable symbol .
5 Step off the scale.
6 Weight Data Measurements are stored in
memory and the difference from the last stored measurement and the current measurement is automatically displayed.
When the display 0.0 lb (0.00kg) has remained visible for approximately five seconds, the scale will automatically power off.

Displaying Weight Data Measurements Stored in Memory
Weight data measurements are displayed in order from the last (most recent) to the first (oldest).
1 Set the slide switch to "MEMORY".
2 Gently press an hold the measurement
switch
Weight data measurements are displayed in order from the last (most recent) to the first (oldest). If you want to stop the data measure­ment recall display, press the measurement switch. The scale will instantly power off.

The Target Function

The difference between the preset target weight and the current weight can be displayed.
Presetting a New Target Weight
1 Set the slide switch to "TARGET".
2 Gently press an hold the measurement switch.
The last preset target weight is displayed.
3 Gently press the measurement switch and hold
until the desired target weight is displayed.
Press and hold the measurement switch, the value will increase continuously. By releasing and pressing the switch continuously, the target weight can be adjusted by 1/10 lb (0.05kg) increments.
4 When the desired target weight is displayed,
release the measurement switch.
When the new target weight value has remained visible for approximately five seconds, the scale will automatically power off.

Comparing a Current Weight with a Preset Target Weight
1 Set the slide switch to "TARGET".
2 Press the measurement switch gently.
The stored target weight is displayed.
3 Step on the scale.
Gently step on your scale after the
0.0 lb (0.00kg) and stable symbol are visible. Stand still during the measurement. (If you do not step on the scale, the display 0.0 lb (0.00kg) will remain visible for approximately ten seconds, then the scale will automatically power off.)
4 The difference between the preset
target weight and the current weight is displayed.
The difference, +/- 0.0 lb (0.00kg) will remain visible for approximately five seconds, then the scale will automatically power off.

BMI
Body Mass Index or BMI (kg/m2), based on an individual's height and weight, BMI is a useful indicator of obesity and malnu­trition in adults. According to recent NHLBI (National Institute of Health) guidelines, the BMI value indicates the following:
Presetting Your Height
Store your height in memory before measuring your weight to calculate a BMI value. The scale can store a height between 1 ft. and 8 ft. in increments of 1/10 of an inch (between 30 cm and 220 cm in increments of 0.1 cm).
1 Set the slide switch to "BMI".
2 Press and hold the measurement switch gently
in the condition of displaying nothing.
The preset height is displayed.
3 Gently press the measurement switch to
display the desired height value.
Press and hold the measurement switch, the value will increase continuously. By releasing and pressing the switch continuously, the target height can be adjusted by 1/10 inch (0.1 cm) increments. Stop when you have reached the desired value.
4 Release the measurement switch to store a
new height, when displaying it.
The scale is automatically turned off after displaying the new height for approximately five seconds.

Displaying the BMI Score
1 Set the slide switch to "BMI".
2 Press the measurement switch gently.
The preset height is displayed.
3 Step on the scale.
Gently step on your scale after the 0.0 lb (0.00 kg) and stable symbol are visible. Stand still during the measurement. The display 0.0 lb (0.00 kg) will remain visible for approximately ten seconds, then the scale will automatically power off.
4 The preset height and calculated BMI
score is displayed alternately.
The scale is automatically turned off after displaying them for approximately ten seconds.

How to Maintain and Store your Precision Scale
Symptoms
Nothing is displayed by pressing the measurement switch.
The indication is fixed to 88888.
H or L is displayed.
There is a large difference between estimated weight and data measurement.
E-0 is displayed.
Corrective Action
Check the battery installation. Replace batteries.
Remove and reinstall batteries.
Place scale on a firm surface.Is something touching the button case?
Replace batteries.
