SPECIAL PRODUCT FEATURES
Reads temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius.

HOW TO CARE FOR THIS PRODUCT
The thermometer should be cleaned after every use even when probe covers are used.
Clean the thermometer tip and probe using isopropyl alcohol or soap and water. Do
not boil the thermometer. Do not submerge the thermometer in any liquid.
Store the unit in the protective case while not in use.
Do not store or keep in direct sunlight, or in high temperatures.
Do not open the thermometer except to replace the battery.
Do not drop the thermometer, as this may break the unit.
Do not attempt to disassemble the unit except to replace the battery.
WHAT IS A “NORMAL” TEMPERATURE?
Temperature readings vary among individuals. A normal temperature refers to each individual range conside higher an
’s average temperature while they are well. Normal average temperatures
from 97°F/36.1°C to 100°F/37.7°C when taken orally. A rectal temperature is
red your real or “core” body temperature. A rectal temperature is 1°F/0.5°C
than an oral reading and an underarm temperature is 1°F/0.5°C lower than
oral reading.
HOW TO TAKE TEMPERATURE
1.
Select oral, underarm or rectal as your measurement site (see following instruc­tions).

Push the START button located at the top of the thermometer. The thermometer

UNDERARM (AUXILIARY) USE
From a medical point of view, this method will always give
an inaccurate reading and should not be used if a
precise measurement is required.

The approximate measurement time may be 5 minutes or longer depending on the
placement of the probe and closure of the arm against the body.
RECTAL USE
Commonly used for babies, young children or when it is difficult to take an oral or
underarm temperature.
After placing the probe cover on the thermometer, lubricate with a water-soluble jelly
such as K-Y Jelly®.
Gently insert the probe tip no more than 1/2 inch or 1.3 cm into the rectum. Do not
force the tip into the rectum if resistance is encountered.
Wash the thermometer as recommended.
Approximate measurement time is 60 seconds.
Once used rectally, the thermometer should not be used orally for sanitary reasons.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Wash the area extending about 2” from the tip with warm, soapy water after each use
and dry thoroughly.
OR
Wipe the area extending about 2” from the tip with 70% isopropyl alcohol after each
use.
NOTE: Do not submerse the thermometer in any liquid.
CHANGING THE BATTERY
When the “ ” appears and blinks, the battery needs to be replaced. Make sure you
use the same type of battery and proceed as follows: Remove battery compart-
ment
lid. Use a non metal probe to remove battery. Insert new equivalent battery
type
(1.55V or LR41). Ensure battery is correctly positioned with the “+” facing up.

ing
it from small children and heat.
SWITCHING BETWEEN FAHRENHEIT & CELSIUS
1.
Press START button.
2.
Wait until “L” symbol appears and °F (°C) starts flashing.
3.
Press and hold START button until °F (°C) symbol flashes five times.
4.
Release the START button. The thermometer is now changed to °C (°F).
5.
The thermometer is now ready for measurement.
