ActiveGreen – Environmental protection and sustainability
Award-winning energy efficiency
Liebherr takes environmental responsibility seriously, and so the
focus on ActiveGreen begins when designing refrigeration and freezer
appliances. Not only does Liebherr use extremely high-quality compo-
nents in its appliances to ensure that they function reliably and durably whilst offering
premium energy efficiency, but all plastics used are labelled for optimum recycling. All
manufacturing processes are tailored to use resources efficiently, e.g. heat naturally
generated during manufacture of appliances is recycled back as heating energy.
Liebherr was the first company to switch over its entire range of commercial refrigerators
and freezers to the environmentally friendly refrigerants R 290 and R 600a. These are
HFC-free and do not damage the ozone layer or contribute to the greenhouse effect.
All European Liebherr production sites are certified to the international environmental
management standard ISO 14001.

Electric defrosting Hot gas defrosting
Elektroabtauung Heißgasabtauung
Demand-responsive hot-gas defrosting prevents unnecessary defrosting, which saves a
great deal of energy. This highly efficient defrosting method guarantees short defrosting
times of about 10 minutes. During defrosting hot-gas, released from the conventional
refrigeration cycle, is used to defrost the iced evaporator. This keeps the temperature
increase inside Liebherr appliances to a minimum during defrosting, increasing tem-
perature stability and consistency.
Interior temperature increase during hot-gas defrosting process:
Hot-gas defrosting: from 5 °C bis 6,5 °C = 1,5 K
Electric defrosting: from 5 °C bis 9,0 °C = 4,0 K

Highly efficient
fans
NoFrost technology
Both the rear-wall and finned evaporator
types have been designed with the larg-
est possible dimensions. This means that
there is a large surface area available for
heat exchange, which leads to greater
refrigeration performance and therefore
more rapid cooling of the interior.
Highly efficient fans ensure that freshly
stored produce is cooled quickly, and that
the refrigeration temperature throughout
the entire interior remains uniform.
Highly efficient refrigeration system
With decades of experience in refrigeration systems and continuous research and
development Liebherr guarantees the outstanding quality of its refrigeration appliances.
Liebherr uses top-performance compressors, condensers, evaporators and other
refrigeration components to vastly reduce both energy consumption and operating
costs. The Liebherr top-mounted refrigeration system is cleverly designed to make
the maximum use of the space available. As a result the entire refrigeration system
is outside of the storage space thus increasing the internal volume. This layout also
means these Liebherr cabinets can easily be placed on plinths thus adapting to various
kitchen designs.
Defrosting is history: Liebherr NoFrost appliances provide professional quality refrig-
eration that gives reliable long-term freshness. Chilled circulating air freezes the food
and any humidity is expelled. As a result, the freezer is always free from ice and the
food never frosts over.
Optimum air distribution system
An air duct on the back interior wall
facilitates optimum circulation of cold air.
The twin fans positioned by the evapora-
tor draw air across the evaporator posi-
tioned at the top of the appliance. Here,
the air cools down and is fed downwards
air duct
behind an air duct on the rear wall. This
results in the cold air constantly circulat-
ing and thus provides optimum tempera-
ture distribution within the interior.

breached. This alarm is equipped with
acoustic and visual signals to provide
maximum security for the goods stored.
The appliances detect if a door has been
left open or not shut properly and draw
attention to this by means of an integrated
acoustic and visual door open alarm. This
alarm has a one-minute delay, which can
be adjusted if necessary.
304-grade stainless steel outer housing
High-performance insulation
The outer housing is constructed with
single-sheet side walls, without any gaps,
making it extremely hygienic and easy to
clean. 304-grade stainless steel is tough
and highly corrosion-resistant and ideal
for the requirements in the commercial
sector.
Stainless steel wire shelves
The robust 304-grades stainless steel
wire shelves from Liebherr fulfil the high-
est hygiene requirements and are re-
sistant to acids and other chemicals. They
can bear loads of up to 60 kg and thus
easily withstand intensive levels of strain.
High-performance insulation ensures low energy consumption and maximum
temperature stability and consistency inside the appliance. Polyurethane rigid foam
insulation is highly durable, environmentally friendly, and demonstrates outstanding
insulation properties. This insulation, combined with advanced refrigeration technology,
is the reason for the low energy consumption of Liebherr appliances.

Separately controlled ceiling lighting
The GKPv 6572 model with glass door
comes equipped with a separately con-
trolled ceiling light. The glass door with
internal light provides a quick overview
of the cabinet contents from outside. This
can help to reduce door opening times
and thus energy consumption and also
speed up product handling.
14 15
The refrigeration components are integrated into the unit compartment where they can
be easily accessed for cleaning or servicing purposes. The unit compartment cover can
be easily opened on hinges or completely dismounted, which guarantees excellent
accessibility, e.g. it is easy to clean the filter on the condenser, which is positioned
behind the unit cover without having to move the appliance.
Height-adjustable

SwingLine
In areas where room hygiene is important
on a daily basis, the height-adjustable
levelling feet give sufficient floor clear-
ance to allow cleaning to be done, easily
and conveniently, under the appliance.
The stainless steel legs are height adjust-
able from 150 mm to 180 mm.
Self-closing door Moulded stainless steel inner liners
Even without a free hand, the appliances
can be conveniently opened using the
built-in foot pedal. This feature makes
the refrigerators and freezers far easier
to use, particularly important in the com-
mercial sector, as the door can be easily
opened with full hands without loss of
precious time.
Catering & bakery
The elegant SwingLine design makes these appliances a perfect choice meeting the
highest technical design requirements. The sophisticated curved design makes Liebherr
appliances a visual focal point in any commercial environment. Thanks to a grip profile
integrated into the entire door height the SwingLine doors are ergonomic and easy to
open as well as being particularly easy to keep clean.
The self-closing door prevents unnecessary loss of cold air and therefore helps to
reduce energy consumption and costs. The door has a 90° dwell position for loading
but is self-closing from 75° onwards.
16 17
In areas in which large quantities of food are processed every day, hygiene plays
a particularly important role. The Liebherr catering models have a unique liner in
304-grade stainless steel with moulded shelf support ribs. This design is particularly
easy to clean and shelves can be quickly and simply repositioned. The single-piece,
moulded liner base, with large corner radii, has a cleaning drain. Using this drain the
inner liner can be easily rinsed with water.
Under-worktop models
Several models can be installed beneath
a worktop. In this case, a ventilation grill
with cross-section of at least 200 cm2 is
required in the worktop for ventilation at
the rear of the appliance. If no ventilation
grill is going to be fitted in the work-
top, the recess height must be at least
860mm to ensure sufficient heat dissi-
pation to the front. Under-worktop models
offer a space-saving solution, which is
particularly suitable for use in restricted
spaces.
Interchangeable door hinges
Bakery shelves

Automatic fan cut-out function
The fan cut-out function deactivates the fan when the door is opened to save valuable
energy. If a door is opened frequently, this vastly reduces the flow of warm air into the
refrigeration appliance.
Dynamic cooling system
Highly-efficient fans ensure that freshly-
stored food and drinks are cooled quickly
and guarantee an even temperature
distribution in the entire interior. During
busy events in particular, when refrig-
erators need to be regularly restocked,
Liebherr’s dynamic cooling system cools
drinks at an impressive speed – even if
the door is frequently opened.

Increased side wall insulation
Drinks
Refreshing drinks are always in high demand, whatever the time of
year. Ensuring they are always ready-to-serve at a thirst-quenching
The the right side walls of the display models have extra insulation which saves valuable
energy, whilst also making it convenient and simple to remove grid shelves at a 90°
door opening angle.
Environmentally friendly refrigerant
R600a
temperature requires a consistently top-performing appliance.
Liebherr drinks refrigerators cool the products very quickly, even
if the doors are frequently opened. They have a high refrigeration
capacity, are reliable, and have an extremely long service life
thanks to superb-quality workmanship. All drinks refrigerators use
the highly energy-efficient and environmentally friendly HFC-free
footprint and promotes sustainability.
The refrigerant R600a is environmentally friendly as it has a very
low greenhouse effect potential and no ozone depletion potential.
R600a has therefore almost completely replaced the previously
used refrigerant, R134a. All Liebherr drinks refrigerators use R600a
and have outstanding energy efficiency, which improves their carbon
refrigerant, R 600a.

The digital temperature display indicates
the interior temperature of the appliance
to the exact degree. The temperature can
be easily read from the outside giving a
quick overview without having to open
the appliance, again leading to energy
savings.
Adjustable temperature range
The temperature in the drinks refrigerators can be variably set depending on the model,
so that the interior temperature can be precisely tailored to individual needs.
Recessed grip handle
Certain models are fitted with a handle
recessed into the edge of the door.
This avoids damage to protruding parts
and is particularly intended for use at
events where cabinets are frequently
transported.
As drinks refrigerator doors are frequently
opened, easy-to-open appliances are
essential. The ergonomic bar handle
guarantees effortless opening, even when
the door is in frequent use. It is easy to
clean and highly hygienic.
Housing made from powder-
coated sheet steel
The housing of drinks refrigerators is
made from powder-coated, seam-free
sheet steel and is therefore highly durable
and extremely impact-resistant. Impact
resistance is of particular value if the
drinks refrigerators have to be regularly
transported, e.g. in the events sector.

Backlit display
LED interior lighting
The illuminated display on the FKDv and
BCDv models, with adjustable interior
lighting, attracts attention to the appli-
ance and its contents. The display panel
design can be individually customised
to a customer-specific design. For the
FKv(sl) model, a separate display canopy
is available as an accessory.
Glass door
Goods can be showcased to their best
advantage behind the glass door – an
eye-catching display will capture the
interest of potential customers. The glass
door has low heat permeability, making
it much more energy efficient than a
conventional glass door.
In addition to providing perfect interior
illumination, the LED lighting system is also
extremely energy efficient. It bathes goods
in just the right amount of light to attract
customers’ attention. LED lighting is availa-
ble as either a vertical light or a ceiling light,
depending on the model. Unlike neon tubes
the Liebherr LED light systems are extremely
long-lasting and will often be maintenance-
free over the lifespan of a bottle cooler.
Sturdy lock
Drinks
A robust lock prevents unauthorised access to the refrigerator. Therefore, refrigerators
can be locked, e.g. overnight, so that drinks can be left stored safely in them. The locks
are attached independently to the handle, making them particularly secure.
Moulded inner liner
The moulded, plastic inner liner is produced from a single sheet and therefore extremely
easy to clean. It is made from commercial grade polystyrol, a fully recyclable plastic,
which is extremely tough and long-lasting and is also environmentally friendly.
24 25
Self-closing door
The self-closing door prevents unneces-
sary loss of cold air and therefore helps
to reduce energy consumption and costs.
Customised brandingUnder-worktop models
Several models can be installed beneath
a worktop. In this case, a ventilation grill
with cross-section of at least 200 cm2 is
required in the worktop for ventilation at
the rear of the appliance. If no ventilation
grill is going to be fitted in the work-
top, the recess height must be at least
860mm to ensure sufficient heat dissi-
pation to the front. Under-worktop models
offer a space-saving solution, which is
particularly suitable for use in restricted
spaces.
Adjustable wire shelves
The clear-coated wire shelves are height
adjustable so the interior layout can be
varied, allowing storage of all sizes of
bottles – both standing up and lying down.
With a load-bearing capacity of between
30 and 50 kg, the shelves are highly robust
and suitable for holding large quantities.
Liebherr offers a range of customised branding options. Drinks refrigerators can be
individually customised with brand names, logos or other unique designs. Customer
attention is thus directed towards the brand being advertised, increasing brand
recognition. There are no limits to customised creativity; not only the displays but also
the side walls and glass/ solid doors can be individually designed.

Foam-embedded condenser
The condenser is embedded in foam in-
sulation all the way around the outer shell,
which reduces vibration and means that
the appliance operates with minimum
noise. Further, no condensation forms on
the housing and the outer shell is easy
to clean.
Hot-gas frame heater
The hot-gas frame heater prevents condensation on the glass cover lids, which is often
a problem if humidity is high, and ensures that the sliding glass cover can be easily
opened. The efficient use of hot-gas reduces the appliances’ energy consumption
(compared to electrical frame heaters) and ensures that goods are optimally presented,
even at high humidity levels.

A visual and acoustic alarm goes off once the door/lid has been open for more than
one minute. The alarm delay after opening can be individually set.
The high-performance insulation ensures low energy consumption and maximum
temperature stability and consistency inside the appliance. Polyurethane rigid foam insu-
lation is highly durable, environmentally friendly, and demonstrates outstanding insulation
properties. This insulation, combined with advanced refrigeration technology, is the reason
for the low energy consumption of Liebherr appliances.

SwingLine Design
The refrigeration components are inte-
grated into the unit compartment where
they can be easily accessed for cleaning
or servicing purposes. The unit compart-
ment cover can be easily opened on an
upward hinge, which guarantees excel-
lent accessibility, e.g. it is easy to clean
the filter on the condenser, which is po-
sitioned behind the unit cover without
having to move the appliance
Plastic-coated wire shelves
Liebherr’s robust wire shelves fulfil the
highest hygiene requirements and are
extremely durable. They can also bear
high loads and therefore withstand in-
tensive strain.
Self-closing door
The elegant SwingLine design makes
these appliances a perfect choice meet-
ing the highest technical design require-
ments. The sophisticated curved design
makes Liebherr appliances a visual fo-
cal point in any commercial environment.
Thanks to a grip profile integrated into the
entire door height the SwingLine doors
are ergonomic and easy to open as well
as being particularly easy to keep clean.
304-grade stainless steel inner liners
Hygiene can be an important factor in
laboratory applications. The 304-grade
stainless steel liner with large radius
corners is easy to clean and provides max-
imum corrosion-resistance. The moulded
line base has an integrated drain to facil-
itate rinsing with water.
The self-closing door prevents unneces-
sary loss of cold air and therefore helps
to reduce energy consumption and costs.
The door has a 90° dwell position for
loading but is self-closing from 75° on-
wards

Pharmaceutical storage: DIN 58345Under-worktop models
Several models can be installed beneath
a worktop. In this case, a ventilation grill
with cross-section of at least 200 cm2 is
required in the worktop for ventilation at
the rear of the appliance. If no ventilation
grill is going to be fitted in the worktop,
the recess height must be at least 860
mm to ensure sufficient heat dissipation
to the front. Under-worktop laboratory ap-
pliances offer a space-saving solution,
which is particularly suitable for use in
restricted spaces.
Interchangeable door hinges
The appliances are factory-fitted with
door hinges on the right. Being able to
change the hinge side allows the appli-
ance to be positioned even more optimally
and tailored to individual requirements.
