SAFETY MESSAGES

For your safety, the information in this manual must be followed to minimize the risk of fire, explosion, or
electric shock, or to prevent property damage, injury to persons, or death. Your safety and the safety of
others is very important. There are many important safety messages in this manual and on your appliance.
Always read and obey all safety messages.

This is the safety alert symbol. This symbol alerts you to potential hazards that can result in prop ­erty damage and/or serious bodily harm or death.

BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

WARNING

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons when using this appliance, follow basic pre­cautions, including the following.

y Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described in this Owner's Manual.

y Before use, the washer must be properly installed as described in this manual.
y Do not wash articles that have been previously cleaned in, washed in, soaked in, or spotted with gaso-

line, dry cleaning solvents, or other flammable or explosive substances, as they give off vapors that

could ignite or explode.

y Do not add gasoline, dry cleaning solvents, or other flammable or explosive substances to the wash

water. These substances give off vapors that could ignite or explode.

y Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a hot water system that has not been used

for 2 weeks or more. HYDROGEN GAS IS EXPLOSIVE. If the hot water system has not been used for

such a period, before using the washer, turn on all hot water faucets and let the water flow from each
for several minutes. This will release any accumulated hydrogen gas. As the gas is flammable, do not
smoke or use an open flame during this time.

y Do not allow children to play on or in the washer. Close supervision of children is necessary when the

washer is used near children. A child might become trapped inside the washer and suffocate.

y Before the washer is removed from service or discarded, remove the lid to prevent children from

climbing inside.
y Do not install or store the washer where it will be exposed to the weather or freezing temperatures.
y Do not tamper with controls.

y Keep the area underneath and around your appliances free of combustible materials (lint, paper, rags,

etc.), gasoline, chemicals and other flammable vapors and liquids.
y Service must be performed by a qualified service technician. Do not disassemble the washer.

y WARNING : This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth

y ALWAYS follow the fabric care instructions supplied by the garment manufacturer.
y Do not place items exposed to cooking oil in your washer. Items contaminated with cooking oils may

contribute to a chemical reaction that could cause a load to catch fire.

y Use fabric softeners or products to eliminate static only as recommended by the manufacturer.

y This washer is not designed for maritime use or for mobile installations such as in RVs, aircraft, etc.

y Turn off the water faucets and unplug the washer if the machine is to be left for an extended period of

time, such as during vacations.
y Do not use to dry articles containing foam rubber or similarly textured rubber-like materials.

y Packaging material can be dangerous for children. There is a risk of suffocation! Keep all packaging from

children.

y Always check the inside of the washer for foreign objects before loading laundry. Keep the lid closed

when not in use.
y Do not reach into the appliance if the tub or agitator is moving.
y In the event of a gas leak(such as propane gas, LP gas, etc.), ventilate the area immediately. Do not turn

any appliance or light on or off. Do not use a ventilating fan. A spark may result in an explosion or fire.

GROUNDING REQUIREMENTS

This appliance must be grounded. In the event of malfunction or breakdown, grounding will reduce the risk
of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance for electric current. This appliance is equipped with
a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an
appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

WARNING

Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in risk of electric shock. Check with
a qualified electrician or servicer if you are in doubt as to whether the appliance is properly grounded. Do
not modify the plug provided with the appliance. If it does not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed

y Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord. Failure to

y The power cord of this appliance is equipped with a 3 -prong (grounding) plug which mates with a standard

y The washer should always be plugged into its own individual electrical outlet which has a voltage rating that

matches the rating plate. This provides the best performance and also prevents overloading house wiring

circuits which could cause a fire hazard from overheated wires.
y Never unplug your washer by pulling on the power cord. Always grip plug firmly and pull straight out from the

outlet. Failure to follow this warning can cause serious injury, fire, electric shock, or death.

y Repair or immediately replace all power cords that have become frayed or otherwise damaged. Do not use

a cord that shows cracks or abrasion damage along its length or at either end. Failure to follow this warning

y Unplug the washer before cleaning to avoid the risk of electric shock.
y Never use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or solvents to clean the washer. They will damage the

finish.
y Do not put oily or greasy rags or clothing on top of the washer. These substances give off vapors that

could ignite the materials.
y Do not wash items that are soiled with vegetable or cooking oil. These items may contain some oil after

laundering. Due to the remaining oil, the fabric may smoke or catch fire by itself.

y Disconnect this appliance from the power supply before attempting any user maintenance. Turning the

controls to the OFF position does not disconnect this appliance from the power supply. Failure to follow

this warning can cause serious injury, fire, electric shock, or death.

y Do not combine laundry products for use in one load unless specified on the label.
y Do not mix chlorine bleach with ammonia or acids such as vinegar. Follow package directions when us-

ing laundry products. Incorrect usage can produce poisonous gas, resulting in serious injury or death.
y Do not reach into the washer while parts are moving. Before loading, unloading, or adding items, press

the START/PAUSE button and allow the drum to coast to a complete stop before reaching inside. Failure

to follow this warning can cause serious injury, fire, electric shock, or death.

y Do not allow children to play on or in the washer. Close supervision of children is necessary when the

washer is used near children. As children grow, teach them the proper, safe use of all appliances. Fail-

y Destroy the carton, plastic bag, and other packing materials after the washer is unpacked. Children

y Remove the lid to the washing compartment before your washer is removed from service or discarded

y Do not touch the power plug with wet hands. This may result in electric shock.
y Do not touch the water draining from the machine during a high-temperature wash or drying cycle. This

water is hot, and touching it may result in burns or injury.
y Do not stand on top of the appliance or place objects(such an laundry, lighted candles,lighted cigarettes,

dishes, chemicals, metal objects, etc.) on the appliance. This may result in electric shock, fire, problems

with the product, or injury.

y Do not install or store the washer where it will be exposed to freezing temperatures. Water may freeze

in the hoses and damage the washer. Winterize the washer before storing or moving it in freezing tem-

peratures. Refer to the Maintenance section for instructions.
y Do not push the Lid too hard. There is a risk of breaking Lid Glass.

CHOOSE THE PROPER LOCATION

WARNING

y The washer is heavy. Two or more people

are required when moving and unpacking the
washer. Failure to do so may result in damage

to property or serious bodily harm.

y Store and install the washer where it will not

be exposed to temperatures below freezing
or exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

y Properly ground the washer to conform with

all electric governing codes and ordinances.

UNPACKING AND REMOVING
SHIPPING MATERIAL

1. After removing the carton and shipping material,
lift the washer off the foam base. Make sure the
plastic tub support comes off with the base and
is not stuck to the bottom of the washer.

If you must lay the washer down to remove the base
packaging materials, always protect the side of the
washer and lay it carefully on its side. DO NOT lay
the washer on its front or back.

3. Unfasten the power cord from the back of the
washer.

2. Save the foam block (that contains the Owner’s
Manual, parts and laundry product samples) for
future use. If the washer must be moved in the
future, the foam block will help prevent damage
to the washer during transportation.

NOTE: To prevent damage, do not remove the
foam block until the washer is at the final loca­tion.

CONNECTING THE WATER LINES

y LG recommends the use of LG hoses. Any leak-

ing, property damage, or damage to the washing
machine caused by an improper installation or by
the use of non-LG hoses is not covered under the
terms of the LG warranty and is the sole responsi­bility of the customer and/or an installer.

y Water supply pressure must be between 20 psi and

120 psi (138~827 kPa). If the water supply pressure
is more than 120 psi, a pressure reducing valve must
be installed.

y Periodically check the hose for cracks, leaks, and

wear, and replace the hose if necessary.

y Make sure that the water lines are not stretched,

pinched, crushed, or kinked.

y The washer should never be installed or stored in a

location subject to freezing temperatures. Damage to
the water lines and internal mechanisms of the washer
can result. If the washer was exposed to freezing tem­peratures prior to installation, allow it to stand at room
temperature for several hours before use and check for
leaks prior to operation.

NOTE: Do not use flood-preventing hoses with auto
shutoff devices. The devices can be tripped during
fill and prevent the machine from filling properly.

2. Connect the water supply hoses to the HOT and
COLD water faucets tightly by hand and then tight­en another 2/3 turn with pliers.

inlet hose to flush dirt, scale and other debris out
of the water lines. Doing so will help prevent future
problems with clogged filter screens, and will also
allow you to verify which water line is hot and which
is cold.

4. Attach the hot water line to the hot water inlet on
the back of the washer. Attach the cold water line
to the cold water inlet on the back of the washer.
Tighten the fittings securely. Turn ON both fau­cets all the way and check for leaks at both ends
of the hoses.

NOTE: Be careful not to cross-thread the hose fit­tings. This will damage the valve and could result in
property damage from leaks.

CONNECTING THE DRAIN HOSE

y The drain hose should always be properly secured.

Failure to properly secure the drain hose can result in
flooding and property damage.

y The drain must be installed in accordance with any

applicable local codes and regulations.

y Make sure that the drain hose is not stretched,

pinched, crushed, or kinked.

OPTION 1: STANDPIPE

Bend the outlet end of the drain hose to form a U
shape. Insert the end of the drain hose into the drain.
If the drain is large enough for the flange on the hose
to fit inside, then do not insert the flange more than
1-2 inches into the drain. Use the tie strap included
with the installation materials in the foam block in
the tub to secure the drain hose to the drain.

If the water valves and drain are built into the wall,

standpipe more than 8 inches (20cm). Doing so

can cause siphoning, odors, or improper drain­ing.

OPTION 2: LAUNDRY TUB

Bend the end of the drain hose to the desired shape
and support it on the edge of the laundry tub. Use
the tie strap to secure the drain hose in place.

NOTE:

y Do not use this drain hose with a floor drain. The

end of the drain hose must be at least 29 inches
above the floor for proper draining to occur.

If your drain is a standpipe, fasten the drain hose to
the standpipe with the tie strap provided.

NOTE:

y Normal height of the end of the hose should be ap-

proximately 35”~47” (0.9~1.2 m) from the floor.

y Do not install the end of the drain hose lower than

29 in. (73.7 cm) or higher than 96 in. (243.8 cm)
above the bottom of the washer or more than 60
in. (152.4 cm) away from the washer.

y Never create an airtight seal between the hose

and the drain with tape or other means. If no air
gap is present, water can be siphoned out of the
tub resulting in poor wash/rinse performance or
clothing damage.

LEVELING THE WASHER

The tub of your new washer spins at very high
speeds. To minimize vibration, noise, and move­ment, the floor must be a level, solid surface.

NOTE:

• Adjust the leveling feet only as far as necessary
to level the washer. Extending the leveling feet
more than necessary can cause the washer to
vibrate.

• Before installing the washer, make sure that the
floor is clean, dry and free of dust, dirt, water
and oil so the washer feet cannot slide easily.
Leveling feet that move or slide on the floor can
contribute to excessive vibration and noise due
to poor contact with the floor.

All four leveling feet must rest solidly on the floor.
Attempt to rock the washer from corner to corner
to make sure that all four leveling feet are in firm
contact with the floor.

1. Position the washer in its final location, taking spe-

cial care not to pinch, strain, or crush the water
and drain lines. Place a level across the top of the
washer.

Improper connection of the equipment-grounding

GROUPING SIMILAR ITEMS

For the best washing results, and to reduce the possibil­ity of damage to clothing, care should be taken to sort
the clothing into loads that are made up of similar items.

Mixing different fabric types and/or soil levels can
result in poor wash performance, color transfer, dis­coloration, fabric damage or linting. Fabrics should
be sorted into groups as described below.

COLORS

Sort articles by color. Wash dark clothes together
in a separate load from light colors or whites. Mix­ing dark clothes with light clothes can result in dye
transfer or discoloration of the lighter clothes.

SOIL LEVEL

Wash heavily soiled clothing together. Washing
lightly soiled clothing in the same load with heav­ily soiled clothing could result in poor wash perfor­mance for the lightly soiled clothing.

FAB RIC TYP E

Delicate articles should not be mixed with heavier or
sturdier fabric types. Washing heavier fabrics in a deli­cate load can result in poor wash performance for the
heavier fabrics and possible damage to the delicates.

LINT TYPE

Some fabrics attract and bind lint to them while oth­ers give off lint in the laundry process. Avoid mixing
these lint collectors and lint producers in the same
load. Mixing these fabrics will result in pilling and
linting on the lint collectors. (For example, lint collec­tor – knit sweater; lint producer – terry cloth towels.)

Many articles of clothing include a fabric care label.
Using the chart below, adjust the cycle and option
selections to care for your clothing according to the
manufacturer’s recommendations.

LOADING THE WASHER

NOTE: Use the Bedding cycle for large or bulky items
such as poly-filled jackets, comforters, pillows, etc.
These items may not be as absorbent as other laundry
items and should be sorted into a separate wash load
for optimal results.

Bulky items should be placed as far down in the tub
as possible for optimal results. Always place buoyant
items at the bottom of the tub. The washer will auto­matically detect the load size. Because of the high­efficiency wash system, the water level may not com­pletely cover the load.

The automatic dispenser consists of two compart­ments which hold:

MAIN WASH DETERGENT COMPARTMENT

This compartment holds laundry detergent for the
main wash cycle. The detergent is added to the load
at the beginning of the cycle. Always use High-Effi­ciency (HE) detergent with your washing machine.
Either powdered or liquid detergent may be used.

Never exceed the manufacturer’s recommenda­tions when adding detergent. Using too much deter­gent can result in detergent buildup in clothing and
the washer.

When using liquid detergent, make sure the liquid
detergent cup and insert are in place. Do not exceed
the maximum fill line.

When using powdered detergent, remove the liquid
detergent cup from the compartment. Powdered
detergent will not dispense with the liquid detergent
cup in place.

FABRIC SOFTENER COMPARTMENT

This compartment holds liquid fabric softener,
which is automatically dispensed during the final
rinse cycle.

Never exceed the manufacturer’s recommendations
when adding softener. Using too much fabric soften­er can result in damage to clothing and the washer.
Either powdered or liquid fabric softener.

y Always follow the manufacturer’s recommenda-

tions when adding fabric softener. Do not exceed

the maximum fill line. Using too much fabric soft-

ener may stain clothes.
y Dilute concentrated fabric softeners with warm

water. Do not exceed the maximum fill line.
y Never pour fabric softener directly onto the load

or into the tub.

LIQUID BLEACH COMPARTMENT

The bleach dispenser is a separate compartment at
the left front of the tub opening. This compartment
holds liquid bleach, which is dispensed automati­cally at the proper time during the wash cycle. Any
liquid remaining in the dispenser at the end of the
cycle is water, not bleach.

y Do not add powdered bleach to this compartment.

The bleach compartment is designed to dispense
liquid bleach only. Powdered or liquid color-safe
bleach will not dispense properly.

y Always follow the manufacturer’s recommenda-

tions when adding bleach. Never add more than
one cup and do not exceed the maximum fill line
since this can cause the bleach to be dispensed
immediately, resulting in damage to fabrics. Using
too much bleach can damage fabrics.

y Never pour undiluted liquid chlorine bleach di-

rectly onto the load or into the tub. Fabric damage
can occur.

y Do not use color-safe bleach or Oxi products in

the same cycle with liquid chlorine bleach.

DANGER

Do NOT mix chlorine bleach with ammonia or ac­ids, such as vinegar or rust/scale remover. Mix-

ing chemicals like these can produce a lethal gas,
resulting in severe injury or death.

DETERGENT AND DISPENSER USE

A WORD ABOUT DETERGENTS

High-Efficiency (HE) detergents produce fewer
suds, dissolve more efficiently to improve wash­ing and rinsing performance, and help to keep the
interior of your washer clean. Using detergent that
is not HE may cause oversudsing and unsatisfac­tory performance which could result in error codes,
cycle failure, and machine damage.

For proper wash performance, always measure the
detergent using the measuring device provided by
the detergent manufacturer.

The normal amount of HE detergent needed, for
average loads, is less than ½ of the recommended
maximum. Use less detergent for soft water, light
soil or smaller loads. Never use more than the
maximum amount recommended by the detergent
manufacturer.

DETERGENT

IM PORTANT: Your washing machine is designed for
use with only High-Efficiency (HE) detergents. HE
detergents are formulated specifically for High-Effi­ciency washers and contain suds-reducing agents.
Always look for the HE symbol when purchasing
detergent.

IM PORTANT: Not all detergents are the same. Pay
careful attention to the amount of detergent used
to avoid oversudsing, poor rinsing and detergent
buildup in clothing, and residue buildup that can
contribute to odors in the machine. NEVER use a
cup or scoop other than the one supplied by the
manufacturer of the detergent you are using. Never
use more than the maximum amount of detergent
recommended by the manufacturer. A full scoop or
measure of detergent should only be used for very
large and heavily soiled loads. Using too much de­tergent can result in detergent buildup in the washer
and in your clothes.

Always measure the detergent amount. While HE
detergents are designed for this type of washing
machine, be careful when measuring the detergent.
For most normal loads, no more than 1/4 to 1/2 a
cap or scoop of HE detergent should be used.

NOTE:

y Extra care must be exercised when using 2X and 3X

concentrated detergents because even a little bit ex­tra can contribute to the problems mentioned above.

y Detergents designated as HE compatible may not

provide optimal results.

USING THE SOFTENER AND DETERGENT
DISPENSER

To add detergent, and fabric softener to the auto­matic dispenser:

1. Open the dispenser drawer.

2. Load the laundry products into the appropriate
compartments.

3. Close the drawer before starting the cycle.

4. If using fabric softener on NORMAL or HEAVY
DUTY cycles, press the FABRIC SOFTENER but­ton or select the EXTRA RINSE option.

NOTE: It is normal for a small amount of water to
remain in the bleach dispenser and softener com­partment at the end of the cycle.

IM PORTANT: Do not place or store laundry prod­ucts, such as detergent, bleach, or liquid fabric soft­ener, on top of your washer or dryer. Wipe up any
spills immediately. These products can damage the
finish and controls.

USING THE LIQUID BLEACH DISPENSER

Bleach

The bleach dispenser automatically dilutes and dis­penses liquid bleach at the proper time in the wash
cycle.

1. Check clothing care labels for special instructions.

2. Measure liquid bleach carefully, following instruc­tions on the bottle. High-efficiency washers use
less water, so less bleach is needed. One half cup is
enough for most loads.

3. Carefully pour the pre-measured amount of bleach
directly into the bleach dispenser. If you are using
powdered bleach of any kind, pour it directly into the
tub before adding the laundry. Never add powdered
bleach to the liquid bleach dispenser.

y Never pour undiluted liquid chlorine bleach directly

onto clothes or into the tub.

y Do not pour powdered bleach into bleach dispenser.
y Do not place laundry items on top of the bleach dis-

penser when loading and unloading the washer.

y Always measure and pour bleach carefully. Avoid

overfilling or splashing when adding bleach to the
dispenser. The maximum capacity of the bleach dis­penser is one cup of bleach per wash cycle. Overfill­ing could result in bleach being dispensed immedi­ately, which can result in damage to the clothes in the
washer.

will agitate briefly without water to measure the

beginning of the wash cycle to indicate when
it is safe to add items to the load. Press the

as this could result in poor performance and/or

WASH CYCLES

Wash cycles are designed for the best wash
performance for each type of load. Select the cycle
that best matches the load contents for maximum
wash performance and fabric care. Turn the knob to
the desired cycle. When you select a wash cycle, the

Use the Speed Wash cycle to quickly wash lightly
soiled clothing and small loads. For high wash and
rinse efficiency, washing small loads of 2-3 lightly
soiled garments is recommended.

Use very little detergent in this cycle. If you

CYCLE MODIFIER BUTTONS

Each cycle has default settings that are selected
automatically. You may also customize these set­tings using the cycle modifier buttons. Press the
button for the desired modifier until the indicator
light for the desired setting is lit. The washer auto­matically adjusts the water level for the type and
size of wash load for best results and maximum
efficiency. Due to the high-efficiency nature of this

product, water levels may be much lower than ex­pected. This is normal and cleaning/rinsing perfor­mance will not be compromised.

NOTE: To protect your garments, not every wash/
temperature, spin speed, soil level, or option is
available with every cycle. A chime will sound and
the LED will not light if a selection is not allowed.

Temp.

Temp. selects the wash and temperature
combination for the selected cycle. Press the
Temp. button until the indicator light for the
desired setting is lit. All rinses use tap cold water.

y Select the water temperature suitable for

the type of load you are washing. Follow the
garment fabric care labels for best results.

Spin

Higher spin speeds extract more water from
clothes, reducing drying time and saving energy.

Press the Spin button until the desired speed is
selected. Some fabrics, such as delicates, require
a slower spin speed. To protect your clothing, not
all spin speeds are available for all cycles.

Spin Only

Use this option to drain the water from the tub
and spin out the clothes. This can be used, for
example, if the wash cycle is interrupted by a
power failure. The spin speed can be adjusted by
using the SPIN button.

1. Press the POWER button to turn on the washer.

2. Press and hold the SPIN button for 3 seconds

3. Press the SPIN button to select the desired spin
speed. Selecting NO SPIN is not allowed.

4. Press the START/PAUSE button.

Soil

Adjusting the soil level setting will modify the
cycle times and/or wash actions. Press the Soil
button until the desired soil level is selected.

NOTE: This feature needs more time for heavily
soiled loads or less time for lightly soiled loads.

Special Care

Pressing the SPECIAL CARE button will allow you
to select additional features, such as Soak, Stain
Care, and Rinse+Spin. Pressing the SPECIAL
CARE button before selecting a cycle will
automatically default to the Normal cycle with the
Soak feature selected.

SOAK

This option provides a 30 -minute presoak prior to
the start of the selected cycle. Use the SOAK option
to presoak garments to help remove difficult spots
or stains on fabrics. At the end of the presoak time,
the selected cycle will begin with the same water
used for the soak.

NOTE: You cannot select the SOAK option for the
TUB CLEAN cycle.

STAIN CARE

Use this option for heavily soiled loads that need
improved stain treatment. When Stain Care is se­lected, the wash cycle will begin with warm water
to help prevent the setting of certain types of stains.
Then, as the cycle progresses, hot water will be add­ed to gradually increase the water temperature to
help remove stains that require treatment at higher
temperatures.

NOTE:

y Best results are obtained with smaller loads (less

Than 6 lb.)

y If you select STAIN CARE, the COLD WASH op-

tion is not available.

RINSE + SPIN

Select this option to rinse and spin a load separately
from a regular cycle. This can be helpful in prevent­ing fresh stains from setting in fabrics. You can
change the spin speed by pressing the SPIN button.

1. Press the POWER button to turn on the washer.

2. Press the SPE CIAL CAR E button until the Rinse +Spin
indicator light is lit. (The cycle light will turn off.)

3. Press the START/PAUSE button to start the cycle.

SPECIAL DRAIN FEATURE

This washer is equipped with a special feature that
is designed to make your washer as safe as pos­sible. If the washer is paused or shut off while there
is still water in the tub, the water will drain automati­cally after several minutes of inactivity. This helps
keep children safe by reducing the possibility of wa­ter remaining in the tub.

Any water remaining in the tub will automatically
drain 4 minutes after the washer has shut off. If the
washer is paused and the START/PAUSE button is
not pressed within 60 minutes, the washer will shut
off and all cycle settings will be lost. And any water
remaining in the tub will be drained.

The washer can be turned on or restarted any time
before the drain begins. However, once the washer
begins to drain, all controls and functions will be dis­abled until the water has been completely drained
and the washer shuts off.

HOW TO USE

OPTION BUTTONS

Your washing machine features several additional cycle
options that customize cycles to meet your individual
needs. To use these options, select the desired option
AFTER selecting the desired cycle.

After selecting the desired cycle and settings, press
the cycle option button(s) for the option(s) you would
like to add. The button will light when that option is
selected. If the selected option is not allowed for the
selected cycle, the chime will sound twice to alert you
and the LED will not illuminate.

NOTE:

COLD WASH

This option saves energy by using cold water while
increasing the wash and rinse times to maintain wash
performance.

NOTE:

y The Stain Care feature cannot be selected with the

Cold Wash option.

y Wash time will increase up to 50% with the Cold

Wash option.

y For best wash results, only wash small loads (less

than 8 lbs.) with the Cold Wash option.

4. Press the cycle option button to add the desired

options.

5. Press and hold the Custom PGM button for 3

seconds.

TO RUN A CUSTOM PROGRAM:

1. Press the POWER button to turn on the washer.

2. Briefly press the Custom PGM button. The stored

settings will display.

3. Press the START/PAUSE button to start the cycle.

(Pressing any other button at this time will cancel the
Custom Program.)

NOTE:

You may only save one custom program at a
time. Pressing and holding the Custom PGM button
will overwrite any previously saved custom program.

TUB CLEAN

Use this cycle to clean the tub of your washing
machine. See the Care and Cleaning section for more
information.

DELAY WASH

Once you have selected the cycle and other settings,
press this button to delay the start of the wash cycle.
Each press of the button increases the delay time by 1
hour, for up to 19 hours. Once the desired delay time is
set, press the START/PAUSE button to start the delay
time.

NOTE:

If the START/PAUSE button is not pressed to
begin the delay time, the washer will automatically
shut off after five minutes and all cycle settings will
be lost.

CUSTOM PROGRAM (PGM)

Custom Program allows you to store a customized
wash cycle for future use. It allows you to save your
favorite temperature, spin speed, soil level, and other
options for a cycle, and then recall them at the touch of
a button. To create a Custom Program:

1. Press the POWER button to turn on the washer.

2. Turn the cycle selector knob to select the desired

cycle.

3. Press the cycle modifier button to change the

desired setting.

FAB RIC SOF TENER

The fabric softener is dispensed in the final rinse.
Select the Fabric Softener option to optimize the final
rinse for fabric softener use.

EXTRA RINSE

This option will add an extra rinse to the selected cycle.
Use this option to help ensure the removal of detergent
or bleach residue from fabrics. Liquid fabric softener, if
used, is always dispensed in the final rinse.

NOTE:

You cannot select the Extra Rinse option with

the Spin Only option and Tub Clean cycle.

WATER PLUS

Use this option to add extra water to the wash cycle for
better wash performance and stain treatment of large or
bulky items.

NOTE:

y If the washing machine reaches its maximum water

level, the WATER PLUS button will have no effect.

y The Water Plus option can only be selected or

deselected while the cycle is running.

y Once the Water Plus option has been added to a

cycle, it is saved as a default option on that cycle
until you deselect it.

y To deselect the option, press WATER PLUS after

starting the cycle.

Adding the Water Plus Option to a Cycle

1. While the cycle is running, press START/PAUSE to
pause the cycle

2. Press WATER PLUS to add Water Plus as a default
option for that cycle.

3. Press START/PAUSE to resume the cycle.

SIGNAL

The washing machine plays a melody when the wash
cycle has finished. The volume of the melody is
adjusted using the SIGNAL button.

Press the SIGNAL button repeatedly to adjust the
volume of the signal. When no signal is heard, the
signal is off. The volume settings are LOW – HIGH –
OFF. The signal volume can be adjusted at any time as
long as the washer is turned ON.

CONTROL LOCK

Use this option to disable the controls. This feature can
prevent children from changing cycles or operating the
machine. Once the CONTROL LOCK is set, it must be
deactivated before any controls, except the POWER
button, can be used. Once the washer has shut off,
the POWER button will allow the machine to be turned
ON, but the controls will still be locked. When the
controls are locked, CL will display alternately with the

estimated time remaining.
Press and hold the SIGNAL button for 3 seconds to

activate or deactivate CONTROL LOCK.
NOTE: Once the controls are locked, they must be

manually unlocked to restore operation.

ADD GARMENTS

Laundry may ONLY be added to the load at the
proper time in the wash cycle. When the Add
Garments light is illuminated, it is safe to pause the
cycle and add more items to the load. If garments
are added when the Add Garments light is off, the
washer will not adjust for these items which could
result in poor performance and/or fabric damage.

1. Press the START/PAUSE button to pause the
washer.

2. Open the lid after it unlocks.

3. Add your additional items.

4. Close the lid.

5. Press the START/PAUSE button. The cycle will
resume after the lid locks.

NOTE:

y The ADD GARMENTS light is an indicator only

and is not selected by pressing the SPECIAL USE
button.

y If the washer remains idle for 4 minutes after

pausing the cycle, the water in the tub will drain.

REGULAR CLEANING

CLEANING THE EXTERIOR

Proper care of your washer can extend its life. The
outside of the machine can be cleaned with warm
water and a mild, nonabrasive household detergent.
Lid: Wash with a damp cloth on the outside and
inside, then dry with a soft cloth.

Exterior: Immediately wipe off any spills with a soft,
damp cloth. Do not touch the surface or the display
with sharp objects.

IM PORTANT: Do not use solvents, cleaning
alcohols, or similar products. Never use steel wool
or abrasive cleaners because they can damage the
surface.

CARE AND CLEANING OF THE INTERIOR

Use a towel or soft cloth to wipe around the washer
lid opening and lid glass.

Always remove items from the washer as soon as
the cycle is complete. Leaving damp items in the
washer can cause wrinkling, color transfer, and odor.
Run the Tub Clean cycle once a month, or more
often if needed, to remove detergent buildup and
other residue.

TUB CLEAN CYCLE

Some environmental and usage conditions can
cause a residue to build up in the tub over time and
can lead to a mildewy or musty smell. The Tub Clean
cycle is specially designed to remove this buildup
using bleach or other cleaners designed specifically
for cleaning washing machines. Run the Tub Clean
cycle once a month, or more often under heavy use
conditions or if odor is present

1. Remove any clothing from the tub.

2. Fill the bleach dispenser to the MAX line with
liquid chlorine bleach. Do not overfill the bleach
dispenser. Overfilling will cause the bleach to
dispense immediately.

NOTE: For other tub cleaning products, follow
the cleaner manufacturer’s instructions and

recommendations. For powdered cleaning products,
add the cleaner to the main wash compartment
of the dispenser drawer after removing the liquid
detergent dispenser insert.

3. Close the lid and press the POWER button to turn
the washer ON. Press the TUB CLEAN button to
select the Tub Clean cycle then press the START/
PAUSE button to begin the cycle. Selecting any
other cycle after Tub Clean has been selected will
cause the Tub Clean cycle to be cancelled.

4. After the cycle ends, open the lid and allow the
tub interior to dry completely.

NOTE:

y Never load laundry while using TUB CLEAN. The

laundry may be damaged or contaminated with
cleaning products. Make sure to run the Tub Clean
cycle ONLY when the tub is empty.

y It is recommended to leave the lid open after

finishing the laundry to keep the tub clean.

y It is recommended that Tub Clean should be

repeated monthly.

REMOVING MINERAL BUILDUP

If you live in an area with hard water, mineral scale
can form on internal components of the washer. Use
of a water softener is recommended in areas with
hard water.

Use a descaler, such as Washer Magic®, to remove
visible mineral buildup. After descaling, always run
the Tub Clean cycle before washing clothing.

Mineral scale and other spots may be removed from
the stainless steel tub using a stainless steel cleaner.
Do NOT use steel wool or abrasive cleaners.

LEAVE THE LID OPEN

If the washer will not be used for several days, leave
the lid open overnight to allow the tub to dry.

CLEANING THE DISPENSER DRAWER

Detergent and fabric softener may build up in the dis­penser drawer. Remove the drawer and inserts and
check for build up once or twice a month.

1. Remove the drawer by pulling it straight out until
it stops. Lift up on the front of the drawer and pull
it completely out.

2. Remove the inserts from the two compartments.
Rinse the inserts and the drawer with warm water
to remove buildup from laundry products.

3. To clean the drawer opening, use a small, non­metal brush to clean the recess. Remove all resi­due from the upper and lower parts of the recess.

4. Return the inserts to the proper compartments
and replace the drawer. Set the drawer into the
opening at an angle as shown above, then lower it
and slide it into place.

WARNING

y Do not spray water inside the washing

machine. Doing so may cause fire or electric

shock.

ENGLISH

PROPER USE OF DETERGENT

Using too much detergent is a common cause of
laundry problems. Today’s detergents are formulat­ed to be effective without visible sudsing. Be sure to
carefully read and follow manufacturer’s recommen­dations for how much detergent to use in your wash.
You can use less detergent if you have soft water, a
smaller load, or a lightly soiled load.

NOTE: Use only low-sudsing, high-efficiency deter­gent. These detergents can be identified by the HE
logo.

CLEANING THE WATER INLET
FILTERS

If the washer does not fill properly, an error mes­sage will show on the display. The inlet valve filter
screens could be plugged by hard water scale,
sediment in the water supply, or other debris.

NOTE: The inlet screens protect the delicate parts
of the inlet valve from being damaged by particles
that could enter the valves with the water supply.
Operating the washer with these filters removed
could cause a valve to stick open resulting in flood­ing and/or property damage.

1. Turn OFF both water faucets completely. Un­screw the hot and cold water lines from the back
of the washer.

IM PORTANT: Aftermarket hoses are not guaran­teed to fit or function correctly. Other hoses may
not tighten correctly and could cause leaks. Sub­sequent damage to product or property will not be
covered under the terms of the product warranty.

2. Carefully remove the filters from the water valves
and soak them in white vinegar or a lime scale
remover, following the manufacturer’s instruc­tions. Be careful not to damage the filters while
cleaning.

3. Rinse thoroughly before reinstalling. Press the fil­ters back into place.

4. Before reattaching the hoses, flush the hoses and
water lines by running several gallons of water
into a bucket or drain, preferably with the faucets
wide open for maximum flow.

NOTE: IE message may blink on the display when
the water pressure is weak or an inlet filter is
clogged with dirt. Clean the inlet filter.

WARNING

y Unplug the power cord and turn off the faucets be-

fore cleaning. Failure to do so may cause electric

shock.

y Do not use the washing machine without the inlet

filters. If you use the washing machine without the

inlet filters it will cause leaks and product malfunction.

y If you use the washing machine in an area with hard

water, the inlet filter may clog due to lime buildup.

STORAGE, MOVING, AND VACATIONS

STORING THE WASHER

If the washer will not be used for an extended period of
time and is in an area that could be exposed to freezing
temperatures, perform the following steps to protect
the washer from damage.

1. Turn OFF the water supply.

2. Disconnect the hoses from the water supply and
drain water from the hoses.

3. Plug the power cord into a properly grounded electri­cal outlet.

4. Add 1 gallon of nontoxic recreational vehicle (RV) an­tifreeze to the empty tub and close the lid. Never use
automotive antifreeze.

5. Press the POWER button, then select Spin Only.
Press the START/PAUSE button to activate the
drain pump. Allow the drain pump to run for one
minute, then press the POWER button to shut off
the washer. This will expel some of the antifreeze,
leaving enough to protect the washer from damage.

6. Unplug the power cord, dry the tub interior with a
soft cloth, and close the lid.

7. Remove the inserts from the dispenser. Drain any
water in the compartments and let them dry.

8. Store the washer in an upright position.

9. To remove the antifreeze from the washer after stor­age, run a complete Speed Wash cycle using deter­gent. Do not add laundry to this cycle.

MOVING

Contact a service technician to remove water from the
drain pump and hoses. Reinstall the foam tub block to
protect the washer from damage while moving. Do not
store the washer where it will be exposed to outdoor
weather conditions.

LONG VACATIONS

Be sure the water supply is shut off at the faucets. Fol­low the instructions in the Storing the Washer section
if the washer will be exposed to freezing temperatures.

SMART DIAGNOSIS™ SYSTEM

Should you experience any problems with your
washing machine, it has the capability of transmit­ting data via your telephone to the Smart Diagno­sis Team. This gives you the capability of speaking
directly to our specially trained technicians. The
technician records the data transmitted from your
machine and uses it to analyze the issue, providing a
fast and effective diagnosis.

USING THE SMART DIAGNOSIS™ SYSTEM

Follow the technician’s instructions and perform the following steps when requested.

If you experience problems with your washer, call
1-800-243-0000 (1-888-542-2623 in Canada). Only use
the Smart Diagnosis System feature when instructed to
do so by the Smart Diagnosis Team. The transmission
sounds that you will hear are normal and sound similar
to a melody.

Smart Diagnosis cannot be activated unless your
washing machine can be turned on by pressing the
POWER button. If your washing machine is unable
to turn on, then troubleshooting must be done with­out using Smart Diagnosis.

HOLD the mouthpiece of your phone over the power button, when instructed to do so by the call center, no more than
one inch from (but not touching) the machine.

NOTE: Do not press any other buttons or turn the cycle selector knob.

PUSH and hold the Temp. button while continuing to hold your phone to the POWER button.

LISTEN for three beeps. After you hear the three beeps, release the Temp . button. Keep the phone in place until the

tone transmission has finished. The display will count down the time. Once the countdown is over and the tones have
stopped, resume your conversation with the technician, who will then be able to assist you in using the information
transmitted for analysis.

Smart Diagnosis is a troubleshooting feature designed to assist, not replace, the traditional method of trou­bleshooting through service calls. The effectiveness of this feature depends upon various factors, including,
but not limited to, the reception of the cellular phone being used for transmission, any external noise that
may be present during the transmission, and the acoustics of the room where the machine is located. Ac­cordingly, LG does not guarantee that Smart Diagnosis would accurately troubleshoot any given issue.

DESEMBALAJE Y ELIMINACIÓN
DEL MATERIAL DE TRANSPORTE

1. Una vez retirados el cartón y material de trans­porte, levante la lavadora de la base de espuma.
Asegúrese de quitar el soporte de espuma del
tambor colocado en la base y no queda pegado
en la base inferior de la lavadora.

Si debe inclinar la lavadora para quitar los materiales
de embalaje de la base, hágalo siempre cuidadosa­mente sobre su parte lateral. NO incline la lavadora
sobre la parte frontal o posterior.

3. Suelte el cable de alimentación de la parte poste­rior de la lavadora.

NIVELACIÓN DE LA LAVADORA

El tambor de su nueva lavadora gira a alta velocidad.
Para reducir las vibraciones, el ruido y los movimien­tos no deseados, el suelo debe estar nivelado y tra­tarse de una superficie sólida.

NOTA:

• Ajuste las patas niveladoras hasta que la lava­dora quede nivelada. Subir las patas niveladoras
más de lo necesario puede provocar que la la­vadora vibre.

• Antes de instalar la lavadora, asegúrese de que
el suelo esté limpio, seco y libre de polvo sucie­dad, agua y aceite con el fin de que las patas no
se deslicen. Si las patas niveladoras se despla­zan o deslizan pueden producirse vibraciones y
ruidos excesivos por un contacto deficiente con
el suelo.

Las cuatro patas niveladoras estarán firmemente
apoyadas en el suelo. Empuje o sacuda suavemente
los extremos superiores de la lavadora para asegu­rarse de que las patas hacen contacto con el suelo.

La lavadora deberá estar conectada a una toma de co­rriente de 120 VCA, 60 Hz.de 3 clavijas con conexión a
tierra. Conecte la lavadora. La conexión incorrecta del
conductor de tierra puede causar riesgo de descargas
eléctricas. Consulte a un electricista o técnico cualificado
si tiene dudas acerca la correcta conexión a tierra del
aparato. No modifique el enchufe incluido con el aparato.

de suciedad puede provocar un mal resultado de la­vado, la transferencia de los colores, pelusas, deco­loración o daños en los tejidos. Clasificar las prendas
en grupos como se describe a continuación.

Ordene los artículos por colores. Separe los colores
oscuros de los claros y prendas blancas. La mezcla
de prendas oscuras y claras puede provocar la deco­loración o el teñido de las prendas más claras.

NIVEL DE SUCIEDAD

Lave la ropa muy sucia en una misma carga Lavar la

mezcla de estos tejidos puede provocar la formación
de bolas y pelusa en los tejidos recogedores de pelusa.
(Por ejemplo, tejido recogedor de pelusa - suéter de
punto; tejido productor de pelusa - toallas de felpa.)

comienzo del ciclo de carga. Use siempre detergen­te tipo HE (Alta eficiencia). Puede utilizar detergente
en polvo o líquido.

Cuando agregue detergente nunca sobrepase las
cantidades recomendadas por el fabricante. Si utili­za demasiado detergente, podría acumularse en las
prendas y en la lavadora.

Cuando utilice detergente líquido, asegúrese de que
la cajita para el detergente líquido y el inserto están
en su sitio. No exceda la línea de llenado máximo.

Cuando utilice detergente en polvo, retire la cajita
del detergente líquido del compartimento. Cuando
utilice detergente en polvo, retire la cajita de deter­gente líquido del compartimento.

DOSIFICADOR DE LEJÍA LÍQUIDA

La lejía se deposita en un compartimento separa­do situado en la parte delantera izquierda del cajón
dispensador. Este compartimento contiene los blan­queadores líquidos que se dispensan automática­mente en el momento adecuado del ciclo. El dispen­sador se activa dos veces para asegurar la completa
entrada en el tambor de la lejía.

y No añada blanqueador en polvo en este compar-

timento. El compartimento del blanqueador está
diseñado para dispensar únicamente blanqueador
líquido. El blanqueador en polvo no se dispensará
correctamente.

y Siga siempre las recomendaciones del fabricante

vez que ayudan a mantener el interior de su lavadora
limpia. El empleo de un detergente que no sea de
Alta Eficiencia puede provocar demasiada espuma,
errores, fallos en el ciclo, y daños a la lavadora.

Para lograr buenos resultados, dosifique el deter­gente usando el medidor facilitado por el fabricante
del detergente.

La cantidad recomendada de detergente para cargas
medias es menos de la mitad de la cantidad máxima
recomendada. Use menos detergente en cargas pe­queñas o ligeramente sucias No utilice una cantidad
superior a la máxima recomendada por el fabricante
del detergente.

PARA EL USO DE DETERGEN­TES DE ALTA EFICIENCIA.
(HE: HIGH-EFFICIENCY)

IMPORTANTE: Su lavadora está diseñada única­mente para el uso de detergentes de Alta Eficien­cia (HE: High-Efficiency) Los detergentes de Alta
Eficiencia están formulados específicamente para
lavadoras de alta eficiencia y contienen agentes de
reductores de espuma. Busque siempre el símbolo
de HE en la compra de detergente.

IMPORTANTE: No todos los detergentes son igua­les. Preste especial atención a la cantidad de deter­gente que se usa para evitar el exceso de espuma.
Un mal aclarado y detergente o residuos acumula­dos en la ropa pueden contribuir a los olores en la
máquina. NO utilice medidas que no sean las sumi­nistradas por el fabricante del detergente. No utilice
una cantidad superior a la máxima recomendada por
el fabricante del detergente. Sólo se necesita una
cucharada o medida completa de detergente para
cargas de ropa muy sucia. Si utiliza demasiado deter­gente, podría acumularse en la lavadora y en la ropa.

Mida siempre la cantidad de detergente. Ya que los
detergentes de Alta Eficiencia están diseñados para
este tipo de lavadora, tenga cuidado al medir el de­tergente. Para la mayoría de las cargas no se debe
utilizar más de 1/4 a 1/2 del tapón o una cucharada
de detergente HE.

NOTA:

y Se debe tener especial cuidado al utilizar detergen-

tes concentrados 2x y 3x porque añadir poco más
puede producir los problemas mencionados anterior­mente.

y Ciertos detergentes considerados como compa-

tibles con HE pueden no proporcionar los mejores
resultados.

UTILIZACIÓN DEL SUAVIZANTE Y DETER­GENTE

Para añadir detergente y suavizante al dosificador
automático:

1. Abra el cajón dosificador.

2. Añada los productos de lavado en los comparti­mentos adecuados.

3. Cierre el cajón antes de comenzar el ciclo.

4. Si está utilizando suavizante en los ciclos Normal
o Heavy duty, pulse el botón Fabric Softener o se­leccione la opción Extra Rinse.

NOTA: Es normal que una pequeña cantidad de agua
permanezca en los compartimentos de lejía y suavi­zante al final del ciclo.

IMPORTANTE: No coloque ni almacene productos
de lavandería, como el detergente, blanqueador o
suavizante líquido, en la parte superior de la lava­dora o secadora. Limpie los productos derramados
inmediatamente. Estos productos pueden dañar el
acabado de la superficie y los controles.

USO DEL COMPARTIMENTO DEL BLAN­QUEADOR LÍQUIDO

El dosificador de lejía diluye y distribuye la lejía líquida
en el momento adecuado del ciclo de lavado.

1. Revise las etiquetas de cuidado de la ropa para ins­trucciones especiales.

2. Mida el blanqueador líquido con cuidado, siguiendo
las instrucciones del envase. Las lavadoras de alta
eficiencia usan menos agua, por lo que necesitan
menos lejía. Media taza es suficiente para la mayoría
de las cargas.

3. Vierta cuidadosamente la cantidad de blanquea­dor en el compartimento del blanqueador. Si utiliza
blanqueador en polvo, viértalo directamente en el
tambor antes de agregar la ropa. Nunca agregue
blanqueador en polvo en el compartimento del blan­queador líquido.

y No vierta cloro líquido sin diluir sobre la ropa o en el

tambor directamente.

y No vierta el blanqueador en polvo en el comparti-

mento del blanqueador líquido.

y No coloque artículos de lavado en la parte superior

del compartimento del blanqueador.

y Mida y vierta siempre el blanqueador con cuidado. No

llene en exceso el compartimento del blanqueador y
evite las salpicaduras. La capacidad máxima del depó­sito del blanqueador es una taza de blanqueador por
ciclo de lavado. Un llenado excesivo puede hacer que
la lejía se distribuya inmediatamente y dañar la ropa
en el interior de la lavadora.

pulsar el botón POWER durante un ciclo can­celará ese ciclo y se perderán los ajustes de

TIEMPO RESTANTE ESTIMADO

Cuando se selecciona un ciclo, la pantalla
indica el tiempo restante estimado. Este
cambia a medida que se seleccionan
modificaciones u opciones. Cuando se
aprieta el botón INICIO/PAUSA, la lavadora
detecta automáticamente la carga de
lavado. El tiempo estimado puede cambiar
una vez detectada la carga de lavado. Si se
se lecciona Delay Wash, el tiempo cuenta
hasta que se inicia el ciclo.

NOTA: la hora que se muestra es
estimativa. Esta estimación se basa en
funciones normales de funcionamiento.
Diferentes factores externos (tamaño
de la carga, la temperatura ambiente,
Temperatura del agua, presión del agua,
etc. etc.) pueden afectar el tiempo real.

CLASIFICACIÓN Y CARGA DE LA LAVADORA

Dependiendo de la necesidad, clasifique la ropa según tipo
de tejido, nivel de suciedad, color o tamaño de la carga.
Abra la puerta y cargue las prendas en la lavadora.

PRODUCTOS DE LIMPIEZA

Deposite el detergente de Alta Eficiencia (HE: High-Effi­ciency) en el depósito correspondiente. Si se va a utilizar
lejía o suavizante, añádalos en los dosificadores apropiado.

ENCENDIDO DE LA LAVADORA

Pulse el botón ENCENDIDER para encender la lavadora.
Las luces alrededor del dial selector de ciclos se iluminarán
y sonará una señal.

SELECCIONAR UN CICLO

Gire la perilla del selector de ciclo en cualquier direccion
para seleccionar el ciclo que desee. Se mostraran los
valores predefinidos de temperatura de lavado y enjuague,
velocidad de centrifugado, nivel de suciedad, cuidado
especial y los ajustes de opcion para dicho ciclo. Si pulsa el
botón INICIO/PAUSA sin seleccionar un ciclo, comenzara
inmediatamente el ciclo Normal.

CONFIGURACIÓN DE AJUSTES

Se selecciona automáticamente la opción por defecto se­gún el ciclo de lavado. Para cambiar las opciones, pulse el
botón de opción y seleccione la opción deseada

NOTA: No todas las modificaciones y opciones están dis­ponibles en todos los ciclos. Si no es posible la selección,
se escuchará un sonido y el LED no se encenderá.

COMIENZO DEL CICLO

Mantenga pulsado el botón INICIO/PAUSA para iniciar el
ciclo. La puerta se bloquea y la lavadora realiza ligeros mo­vimientos para calcular el peso de la carga. Si no pulsa el
botón INICIO/PAUSA transcurridos 60 minutos, la lavado­ra se apaga y se pierden todos los ajustes.

PILOTO AÑADIR PRENDA

Con el piloto Add Garments iluminado, es seguro aña dir
prendas a la carga. Pulse el botón INICIO/PAUSA para pau­sar el ciclo y añadir las prendas a la carga. Pulse el botón
INICIO/PAUSA para reanudar el ciclo.

NOTA: No se recomienda añadir prendas a la carga si no
está encendido el piloto Add Garments, ya que de lo con­trario el resultado del lavado podría no ser el deseado y/o
dañar la ropa.

FINAL DE CICLO

Cuando el ciclo haya terminado, sonará una melodía. Retire
la ropa inmediatamente de la lavadora para evitar que se
formen arrugas.

mejores resultados para cada tipo de carga. Selec­cione el ciclo más adecuado para sus prendas y, de
este modo, logrará mejores resultados y un mayor
cuidado de los tejidos. Gire el mando selector hasta
el ciclo deseado. Cuando pulse el botón de selección
de ciclo de lavado, se iluminará el piloto del ciclo de

BOTONES MODIFICADORES DE
CICLO

Los ciclos tienen ajustes predeterminados que se
seleccionan automáticamente. También puede per­sonalizar los ajustes con los botones modificadores
de ciclos. Para su modificación pulse el botón hasta
alcanzar la posición deseada: la luz indicadora se en­cenderá. La lavadora ajusta automáticamente el ni­vel del agua en función del tipo tamaño de carga de
lavado con el fin de obtener los mejores resultados

y la máxima eficacia. Gracias al diseño de alto rendi­miento de este producto, los niveles de agua puede
ser mucho menores de lo esperado. Esto es normal
y no afectará a la limpieza/aclarado.

NOTA: Para proteger sus prendas de vestir, no todas
las temperaturas de lavado/aclarado, velocidades de
centrifugado, niveles de suciedad u opciones están
disponibles en todos los ciclos. Si no es posible la
selección, se escucha una señal acústica y el LED
no se enciende.

Temp. ( Temp.)

Temp. selecciona el lavado y la temperatura para el
ciclo deseado. Pulse el botón Temp. hasta que se
ilumine el ajuste deseado.

y Seleccione la temperatura de agua adecuada para

el tipo de carga. Para un mejor resultado siga las
indicaciones de las etiquetas de las prendas.

Spin (Centrifugado)

Las mayores velocidades de centrifugado escurren
más agua, reduciendo el tiempo de secado y
ahorrando energía.

Pulse el botón Spin para seleccionar la velocidad de
centrifugado deseada. Algunos tipos de tejidos, por
ejemplo, las prendas delicadas, necesitan velocidades
de centrifugado más bajas. Para proteger su ropa,
no todas las velocidades de centrifugado están
disponibles para todos los ciclos.

Spin Only (Solo centrifugado)

Use esta opción para vaciar el agua del tambor y
centrifugar la ropa. Se puede usar, por ejemplo, en
caso de interrupción del ciclo de lavado por un corte de
suministro eléctrico. Ajuste la velocidad de centrifugado
con el botón SPIN.

1. Pulse el botón POWER para encender la lavadora.

2. Mantenga pulsado el botón SPIN durante 3 segundos.

3. Pulse el botón SPIN para seleccionar la velocidad de
centrifugado deseada. No se puede seleccionar NO
SPIN.

4. Pulse el botón INICIO/PAUSA.

Soil (Suciedad)

Ajuste del nivel de suciedad para modificar los
tiempos de ciclo y/o tipos de lavado. Pulse el botón
Soil hasta seleccionar el nivel de suciedad
deseado.

NOTA: Esta función utiliza más tiempo para ropa
muy sucia y menos para ropa menos sucia.

Special Care (Cuidado especial)

Pulsando el botón SPECIAL CARE, podrá selec­cionar funciones adicionales, como Soak, Stain Care,
SPECIAL CARE y Rinse+Spin. Si pulsa el botón Special
Cares antes de seleccionar un ciclo, seleccionará
automáticamente el ciclo Normal con la función Soak.

Soak (Remojo)

Esta opción permite mantener las prendas a remojo duran­te 30 minutos antes del inicio del ciclo seleccionado. La
opción Soak ayudar a quitar las manchas difíciles incrusta­das en las prendas. Una vez finalizado el tiempo de remo­jo, comenzará el ciclo seleccionado sin que se produzca
un cambio de agua.

NOTA: No es posible seleccionar la opción Soak en el ciclo
Tub Clean.

STAIN CARE
(TRATAMIENTO DE LAS MANCHAS)

Use esta opción para ropa muy sucia que necesita un
tratamiento especial para las manchas. Cuando se
seleccio na Stain Care, el ciclo de lavado comienza con
agua templada para ayudar a prevenir que se formen cier­tos tipos de manchas. De este modo, según avance el ci­clo, se aumentará gradualmente la temperatura del agua
para eliminar las manchas que requieren tratamientos con
temperaturas más altas.

NOTA:

y Los mejores resultados se obtienen con cargas

pequeñas (menos de 6 libras)

y Si se selecciona Stain Care, no está disponible COLD

WASH.

Rinse + Spin (Aclarado + Centrifugado)

Seleccione esta opción para aclarar y centrifugar una car­ga sin realizar un ciclo regular. Esto previene la permanen­cia de ciertos tipos de mancha en los tejidos. Para cambiar
la velocidad de centrifugado, pulse el botón SPIN.

1. Pulse el botón POWER para encender la lavadora.

2. Pulse el botón Spin hasta que la luz indicadora
Rinse+Spin se encienda. (La luz indicadora del ciclo se
apagará)

3. Pulse el botón INICIO/PAUSA para iniciar el ciclo.

FUNCIÓN ESPECIAL DE DRENAJE

Esta lavadora está equipada con un función especial dise­ñada para que la lavadora sea lo más segura posible.
En caso de pausa o si la lavadora se apaga con agua en
el tambor, ésta se vaciará transcurridos nueve minutos.
Esto ayuda a mejorar la seguridad de los niños, reduciendo
la posibilidad de que quede agua en el tambor.

El agua restante del tambor se vaciará transcurridos 4 mi­nutos tras apagarse la lavadora. Si la lavadora está en pau­sa y no se pulsa el botón INICIO/PAUSA transcurridos 60
minutos, ésta se apagará y se perderán todos los ajustes.
Y se vaciará el agua restante de la cuba.

La lavadora se puede volver a poner en funcionamiento en
cualquier momento antes de comenzar el vaciado. Sin em­bargo, una vez que ha comenzado el vaciado, se suspen­den todas las funciones hasta que ha finalizado el vaciado
y se ha apagado la lavadora.

BOTONES DE OPCIONES

Su lavadora dispone de varios de ciclos adicionales per­sonalizados para satisfacer sus necesidades. Para utilizar
estas opciones, seleccione la opción deseada DESPUÉS
de seleccionar el ciclo deseado.

Tras seleccionar el ciclo y los ajustes deseados, pulse el
botón o botones de opción de ciclo para la opción u op­ciones que desea añadir. El botón se iluminará cuando se
haya seleccionado esa opción. Si la opción seleccionada
no está permitida para el ciclo seleccionado, la señal acús­tica sonará dos veces y no se iluminará el LED.

NOTA:

y Para proteger sus prendas de vestir no todas las opcio -

nes están disponibles en cada ciclo.

y Si no pulsa el botón INICIO/PAUSA transcurridos 60

minutos para iniciar el ciclo, se apagará la lavadora y se
perderán todos los ajustes.

Cold Wash (Lavado en frío)

Esta opción ahorra energía al utilizar agua fría y aumentar
los tiempos de lavado y aclarado para mantener los resul­tados del lavado.

NOTA:

y La función Stain Care no se puede selec cionar con la

opción Cold Wash.

y El tiempo de lavado aumentará hasta el 50% con la op-

ción Cold Wash.

y Para lograr los mejores resultados, lave sólo cargas pe-

queñas (menos de 8 libras) con el Cold Wash.

Delay Wash (Lavado con inicio diferido)

Una vez que seleccionado el ciclo y demás ajustes, pulse
este botón para retrasar el comienzo del ciclo de lavado.
Cada vez que se pulsa el botón aumenta el tiempo de de­mora en 1 hora, hasta 19 horas. Una vez seleccionado el
tiempo de inicio demorado, pulse el botón INICIO/PAUSA
para iniciar el tiempo de inicio.

NOTA: : Si no se pulsa el botón INICIO/PAUSA para el
inicio de lavado demorado transcurridos 5 minutos, la lava­dora se apagará y se perderán todos los ajustes del ciclo.

4. Pulse el botón de opción de ciclo para añadir las opcio­nes deseadas.

5. Mantenga pulsado el botón Custom PGM durante 3
segundos.

PARA UTILIZAR UN PROGRAMA PERSONALIZADO:

1. Pulse el botón POWER para encender la lavadora.

2. Pulse brevemente el botón de Custom PGM. Se
mostra rán los ajustes guardados.

3. Pulse el botón INICIO/PAUSA para iniciar el ciclo. (Si
pulsa cualquier otro botón en este momento se cance­lará el Programa Personalizado.)

NOTA: Mantenga pulsado el botón de Custom PGM para
sobrescribir cual quier programa favorito previamente
guardado.

TUB CLEAN (LIMPIEZA DE CUBA)

Use este ciclo para limpiar el tambor de su lavadora.

Custom Program (PGM) (Custome Program (PGM))

Los programas favoritos permiten guardar un ciclo de lava­do para su uso en el futuro. Permite guardar la temperatu­ra favorita, velocidad de centrifugado, grado de suciedad
y otras opciones para un ciclo, y recuperarlas presionando
un botón. Para crear un favorito:

1. Pulse el botón POWER para encender la lavadora.

2. Gire el mando selector de ciclos para seleccionar el pro­grama deseado.

3. Presione el botón de modificación de ciclo para cambiar
la configuración deseada.

Fabric Softener (Suavizante)

El suavizante se dispensa en el último aclarado.
Seleccione el botón SUAVIZ ANTE si va a utilizar
suavizante.

Extra Rinse (Aclarado extra)

Utilice esta opción para añadir un aclarado adicional al
ciclo seleccionado. Esta opción garantiza la eliminación
de restos de detergente o productos blanqueantes. El
suavizante líquido se dispensa en el último aclarado.

NOTA:

No es posible seleccionar la opción de Extra

Rinse con la opción Spin Only y Tub Clean.

WATER PLUS (AGUA EXTRA)

Utilice esta opción para agregar agua adicional al ciclo
de lavado para un mejor rendimiento del lavado y del
tratamiento para manchas de prendas voluminosas o
grandes.

NOTA:

y Si la lavadora alcanza su nivel máximo de agua, el

botón WATER PLUS (AGUA EX TRA) no tendrá
efecto.

y La opción Water Plus (Agua Extra) solo puede

seleccionarse o anularse mientras el ciclo está en
funcionamiento.

y Una vez que se ha añadido la opción Water Plus

(Agua Extra) a un ciclo, se guarda como opción
predeterminada hasta que la anule.

y Para anular la opción, presione WATER PLUS (AGUA

EXTRA) después de iniciar el ciclo.

Cómo agregar la opción Water Plus (Agua
Extra) a un ciclo

1. Mientras el ciclo esté ejecutándose, presione START/
PAUSE (INICIO/PAUSA) para pausar el ciclo.

2. Presione WATER PLUS (AGUA EXTRA) para añadir
Water Plus como opción predeterminada para ese ciclo.

3. Presione START/PAUSE (INICIO/PAUSA) para reanudar
el ciclo.

Signal (Señal)

La lavadora emite una melodía cuando ha finalizado el
ciclo de lavado. El volumen de la melodía se ajusta con
el botón Extra Rinse.

Mantenga pulsado el botón Extra Rinse duran­te 3 segundos para ajustar el volumen de la señal.
Mantenga pulsado el botón repetidamente para ajustar
el volumen de la melodía. Cuando no oiga ninguna
señal, significa que ésta está apagada. Los ajustes de
volumen son BAJO - ALTO - APAGADO. El volumen de
la señal se puede ajustar en cualquier momento con la
lavadora ENCENDIDA.

Control Lock (bloqueo de control)

Utilice esta opción para desactivar los controles.
Esta función evita que los niños cambien los ciclos o
utilicen la lavadora. Cuando está activado el bloqueo
de control, deberá desactivarse antes de poder utilizar
cualquier botón, excepto el de encendido. Una vez
que haya finalizado el ciclo, la máquina se mantendrá
ENCENDIDA, pero los controles continuarán
bloqueados. Con los controles bloqueados, CL se
muestra alternativamente el tiempo restante.

Mantenga pulsado el botón SIGNAL durante 3

ADD GARMENTS (Introducir tejido)

SÓLO puede añadirse ropa a la carga en el momento
adecuado del ciclo de lavado. Cuando se enciende
la luz de ADD GARMENTS, para mayor seguridad,
pausar el ciclo y añadir más prendas a la carga. Si
se añade ropa con la luz ADD GARMENTS apagada,
la lavadora no realizará ningún ajuste para estas
prendas lo que podrá afectar a los resultados y/o
dañar los tejidos.

1. Pulse el botón INICIO/PAUSA para dejar la
lavadora en pausa.

2. Espere a que la puerta de desbloquee.

3. Añada las prendas.

4. Cierre la puerta.

5. Pulse el botón INICIO/PAUSA. El ciclo se
reanudará tras bloquearse la puerta.

NOTA:

y La luz ADD GARMENTS es sólo un indicador y no se

selecciona cuando se pulsa el botón SPECIAL USE.

y Si la puerta permanece abierta durante 4 minutos tras

pausar el ciclo, el agua del tambor se drenará.

LIMPIEZA REGULAR

LIMPIEZA DEL EXTERIOR

Limpie el exterior de la máquina con agua tibia y un
detergente suave, no abrasivo. Limpie inmediatamente
todo líquido derramado con un paño suave y húmedo.

Puerta: Limpie el exterior y el interior con un paño húmedo
y luego séquela con un trapo seco.

Exterior: Limpie inmediatamente cualquier salpicadura.
Utilice un paño húmedo. No toque la superficie ni el panel
de control con objetos punzantes.

IMPORTANTE: No use disolventes, alcohol o productos
similares. No utilice lana de acero ni limpiadores abrasivos
ya que pueden dañar la superficie.

CUIDADO Y LIMPIEZA DEL INTERIOR

Use una toalla o paño suave para limpiar alrededor de la
puerta y el cristal.

Vaciar la lavadora una vez finalizado el ciclo de lavado.
Mantener ropa húmeda en la lavadora puede causar
arrugas, transferencia de colores, y malos olores. Ejecute
el ciclo Tub Clean una vez al mes, o con mayor frecuencia
si fuera necesario, para eliminar los restos de detergente y
de otro tipo.

CICLO DE LIMPIEZA DE TAMBOR

Algunas condiciones medioambientales y de uso pueden
causar la acumulación de residuos en el tambor con el
paso del tiempo y producir un olor a moho o humedad. El
ciclo Tub Clean ha sido especialmente diseñado para
eliminar esta acumulación mediante el uso de lejía u otros
limpiadores específicos para la limpieza de la máquina.
Ejecute el ciclo Tub Clean una vez al mes o con mayor
frecuencia si el olor persiste.

1. Retire toda la ropa del tambor.

2. Llene el dosificador de lejía hasta la línea MAX con lejía
líquida. No llene en exceso el dosificador de lejía. De lo
contrario la lejía se podría dispensar inmediatamente.

NOTA: Para los productos de limpieza de tambores, siga
las instrucciones y recomendaciones del fabricante. Para
productos de limpieza en polvo, añada el limpiador al cajón
dosificador de lavado principal tras retirar los restos de
detergente líquido.

3. Cierre la puerta y presione POWER para ENCENDER la
lavadora. Gire el selector hasta posicionar lo sobre el
ciclo TUB CLEAN; a conti nuación pulse el botón
START/PAUSE para iniciar el ciclo. En caso de
seleccionar otro ciclo tras la selección del ciclo Tub
Clean, éste se cancela.

4. Una vez finalizado el ciclo deje la puerta abierta hasta

que el interior se seque por completo.

NOTA:

y Nunca meta prendas en la lavadora mientras utili ce el

ciclo de TUB CLEAN. La ropa puede dañarse o
contaminarse con productos de limpieza. Asegúrese
de realizar el ciclo Tub Clean SOLO con la cuba vacía.

y Se recomienda dejar la puerta abierta cuando haya

terminado el lavado para mantener el tambor limpio.

y Se recomienda repetir el ciclo TUB CLEAN todos los

meses.

ELIMINACIÓN DE DEPÓSITOS MINERALES

Si usted vive en un área con agua dura, puede acumularse
la cal en los componentes internos de la lavadora. En
estas zonas es recomendable utilizar productos para
ablandar el agua.

Use un descalcificador, como Washer Magic®, para
eliminar los restos de cal. Tras la descalcificación, realice
un ciclo de Tub Clean, antes de realizar una colada.

Ciertos restos de minerales u otras manchas en el acero
inoxidable pueden quitarse con un limpiador de acero
inoxidable. NO utilice productos abrasivos o lana metálica.

DEJE LA PUERTA ABIERTA

Si no va a utilizar la lavadora durante varios días, deje la
puerta abierta durante toda la noche para que se seque el
tambo r.

CAJÓN DISPENSADOR

El detergente y el suavizante pueden acumularse en
el compartimento dispensador. Extraiga el cajón y
las partes movibles y compruebe la acumulación de
residuos una o dos veces al mes.

1. Tire del cajón hacia fuera hasta que se detenga.
Levante el frente del cajón y tire hacia fuera.

2. Quite los insertos de los dos compartimentos.
Limpie los insertos y el cajón del dispensador con
agua tibia para eliminar los restos de productos
procedentes del lavado.

3. Limpie los huecos de la abertura del depósito con
un cepillo pequeño, que no sea de metal. Elimine
todos los residuos de las partes superior e inferior
del hueco.

4. Vuelva a poner los insertos en los compartimentos
y coloque el cajón. Incline el cajón en la abertura
como se muestra en la figura, bájelo y deslícelo
hasta su posición.

Usar demasiado detergente puede llegar a causar

se formulan para ser eficientes y sin formación de
espuma visible. Utilice la cantidad correcta de deter­gente, siguiendo las instrucciones de la etiqueta del
detergente. Use menos cantidad de detergente en
caso de agua blanda, para una carga pequeña, o una

LIMPIEZA DE LOS FILTROS DE
ENTRADA DE AGUA

Si la lavadora no se llena correctamente, se mostrará un
mensaje de error en la pantalla. El filtro de la válvula de
entrada podría estar obstruido por incrustaciones, sedimen­tos u otros residuos.

NOTA: Los filtros de entrada protegen las partes delicadas
de la válvula de entrada de los posibles daños causados por
partículas que pudieran entrar en la válvula con el suministro
de agua. No utilice la lavadora sin los filtros de entrada. En
caso contrario podrían producirse fugas y/o daños.

la parte posterior de la lavadora.

2. Retire con cuidado los filtros de las válvulas de agua y
sumérjalos en vinagre o en algún producto para la elimi­nación de depósitos calcáreos, siguiendo las instruccio­nes del fabricante. Tenga cuidado de no dañar los filtros
durante la limpieza.

3. Enjuáguelos bien antes de volver a instalarlos. Encaje
los filtros en su posición.

4. Antes de volver a colocarlas, conecte las mangueras y
tuberías a un grifo completamente abierto de manera
que el flujo sea máximo y deje circular varios litros de
agua a un balde o sistema de drenaje.

NOTA: Un mensaje IE parpadea en la pantalla cuando la
presión del agua es baja o si un filtro de entrada está obs­truido por la suciedad. Limpie el filtro de entrada.

ADVERTENCIA

ALMACENAMIENTO, TRASLADO,
VACACIONES

GUARDAR LA LAVADORA

Siga las instrucciones para guardar la lavadora si no la va a
utilizar durante un largo período de tiempo en climas fríos,
con temperaturas bajo cero.

1. APAGADRA el suministro de agua.

2. Desconecte las mangueras del suministro de agua y
vacíe el agua.

3. Conecte el cable de alimentación a una toma eléctrica
con conexión a tierra.

4. Añada 1 galón (3,8 litros) de anticongelante para vehí­culos recreativos (RV) no tóxicos en el tambor vacío de
la lavadora y cierre la puerta. Nunca use anticongelante
para automóviles.

5. Pulse el botón POWER y a continuación selec cione
Spin Only. Pulse el botón START/PAUSE para acti­var la bomba de desagüe. Deje la bomba de desagüe
funcionando durante un minuto y luego pulse el botón
POWER para apagar la lavadora. Esto expulsará del an­ticongelante, protegiendo suficientemente a la lavadora
de posibles daños.

6. Desconecte el cable de alimentación, seque el interior
del tambor con un paño suave y cierre la puerta.

7. Presione con fuerza para desenganchar el cajón dispen­sador de detergente y extráigalo. Escurra el agua de los
compartimentos y deje que se sequen.

8. Guarde la lavadora en posición vertical.

9. Para eliminar el anticongelante tras guardar la la vadora,
añada detergente al dispensador y ejecute un ciclo de
Speed Wash.

Traslado

Póngase en contacto con un técnico del servicio de
mantenimiento para eliminar el agua de la bomba de
desagüe y de las mangueras. Vuelva a instalar el bloque de
espuma del tambor para proteger la lavadora de posibles
daños durante su traslado. No guarde la lavadora en un
lugar expuesto a la intemperie.

Vacaciones prolongadas

Asegúrese de cortar el abastecimiento de agua en los grifos
Siga las instrucciones de almacenamiento de la lavadora
cuando se encuentre expuesta a temperaturas bajo cero.
