Process of water purification
Notice
Filter is vital to water purifier. If authentic filter is not used, or old filter is used though it's authentic, then this can cause performance deterioration.
Process of purification
1st step: pre-carbon block filter
Invisible remnants, leftover chlorine, and volatile organic compounds are removed.
2nd step: membrane filter (R/O)
By going through membrane filter (R/O), heavy metals, ion materials, and microorganism are removed.
At this step, rejected water comes out along with the drain hose.
3rd step: post-carbon block filter
The odor-generating materials inside the water are removed and the taste of water enhances.
Rejected water RO membrane filter
Drained Water
- You can use drained water for daily activities like dish wash, laundry, cleaning etc.
- Please do not use this water for drinking and cooking.

When and how to replace a Filter
When to replace Filter
Filter
Filter is the most important part of a water purifier. If it is not a genuine filter or even it is a genuine filter but used too long, then it can affect the performance of the filter so that it may not purify water properly. Replace to a genuine filter according to the replacement period.
About Filter Replacement Period
If the filter is not replaced regularly, it can degrade the water quality of the purifier. The expected replacement period of the filter can be changed depending on the water quality and usage.
※ Filter replacement period is based on using 10ldaily for
household
Filter Name Expected replacement period
Pre-carbon block filter 6 months
Membrane filter (RO) 24 months
Post-carbon block filter 18 months

replacement
What is a Valid Filter Capacity?
The valid Filter Capacity written on the product specification is to determine performance of purifying system and means Filter Capacity calculated by eliminating rate of chloroform, etc.
Filter Replacement Period
The filter replacement period listed above is not indicating ensured period of the filter’s quality, but it is the expected period of the filter to demonstrate its performance. (Based on the tab water supply)
Page 29

When and how to replace a Filter
How to replace Filter
Fasten the tap water valve, and then completely drain the water in the
tank.
Close
Open
Pull and remove the water container, lift the lever and then remove the filter cover.
CAUTION
• Filter must be replaced after being washed. (Flushing)
- Membrane and post-carbon block filters should be washed for 10 minutes or so with the original water filtered through the pre-carbon block filter and then be used.
• In case that replacement is done without washing filter
- Black-colored water may come out due to activated-carbon powder or initial activated-carbon.
- Since it’s impossible to check if filter is blocked, this may cause a breakdown.
Notice
• Activated-Carbon in the filter can flow in the tank.
- This minute powder of activated-carbon which is to improve the taste of water comes out from Post-carbon filter, and it’s not harm to human body.
• Drain water and wipe with dried cloth.
The purified water during the filter’s purification process goes to the storage
tank and the water filtered through the filters is drained as water-for-living.
- The ratio of purified water to water-for-living is 1:2 – 1:3.
Page 30
30
When and how to replace a Filter
Wash the filter that needs to be replaced,
and then change the filter.
The old filter should be turned and removed from the filter head and the new filter should be washed first and then installed.
CAUTION
After filter replacement, check fitting and tubing to see if there is water leakage, initial purified water needs to be drained at least one time.
• Filter needs to be replaced after being washed.
- Membrane and post-carbon block filters should be washed for 10 minutes or so with the original water filtered through the precarbon block filter and then be used.
• In case that replacement is done without washing filter
- Black-colored water may come out due to activatedcarbon powder or initial activated-carbon.
- Since it’s impossible to check if filter is blocked, this may cause a breakdown.
Install Remove
After replacing the SVC
filter, be sure to perform
the assembly as shown
in the photograph.
Fit the top part of the filter cover to the groove and push it upward for closing.
Notice
• To drink clean water, to change filter is very important. Old filters cause the
declination of efficiency, so don’t miss the filter changing time.
• Filter replacement time varies depending on each filter’s characteristics. (Refer to the Filter Replacement Period in Page. 28)
