WARNING: Do not install this equipment in a confined space such as a book case or

Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation and to ensure reliable

CAUTION concerning the Power Cord
Most appliances recommend they be placed upon a dedicated circuit; That is, a
single outlet circuit which powers only that appliance and has no additional outlets or
branch circuits. Check the specification page of this owner's manual to be certain.
Do not overload wall outlets. Overloaded wall outlets, loose or damaged wall outlets,

Disposal of your old appliance

the municipal waste stream via designated collection facilities appointed by

Setting up
Attaching the speakers to the unit
Connect the black end of each wire to the terminals marked - (minus) and the
other end to the terminals marked + (plus).
To connect the cable to the each speakers, press each plastic finger pad to
open the connection terminals on the back of each speaker. Insert the wire and
release the finger pad.
Be careful of the following
• Be careful to make sure children not to put their hands or any objects into the
*speaker duct.
* Speaker duct : A hole for plentiful bass sound on speaker cabinet (enclosure).

Point the Remote Control at the display window and press the buttons.

1 Detach the battery cover on the rear of the remote control.
2 Insert the R03 (size AAA) battery with 3 and # aligned correctly.

Hooking up the unit
COMPONENT VIDEO OUT
(PROGRESSIVE SCAN) jacks

Connect one end of the component
(Y PB PR) cable to the COMPONENT
VIDEO OUT (PROGRESSIVE SCAN)
jack on the unit and other end to the
COMPONENT INPUT jack on your TV.
VIDEO OUT jack connection
Connect the VIDEO OUT jack on the unit
to the corresponding input jacks on your TV
using a Video cable.
AUX IN (L/R) jacks connection
Connect a VCR or Auxiliary device, etc. to the
INPUT jack of this unit.
Press the FUNCTION button on the remote control
until the “AUX” indicator is displayed in the display
window.
Antenna connection
Fit the AM loop aerial to its stand
Connect the AM loop aerial to the unit.
Connect the FM aerial
The reception will be at its best when the two loose ends of
the aerial are in a straight line and horizontal.

POWER: Switches the unit ON or OFF.
FUNCTION: Selects the function..
SLEEP:
Sets the System to turn off automatically at a
specified time. (Dimmer : Dims the LED (Light-emitting
diode) of front panel by half in power-on status.)
Z OPEN/CLOSE: Open or close your CD door.
TITLE: If the current DVD title has a menu, the title menu
appears on the screen. Otherwise, the disc menu may appear.
DISPLAY: Accesses On-Screen Display.
MENU: Accesses the menu on a DVD disc.
SETUP: Accesses or removes setup menu.
I i U u (left/right/up/down): Used to navigate
on-screen displays.
ENTER: Acknowledges menu selection.
PRESET (U u): Selects programme of Radio.
TUN. -/+ (I i): Tunes in the desired radio station.

REC (z): Recording to USB/ TAPE.
STOP (x): Stops playback or recording.
PLAY (B): Starts playback.
MO./ST.: MONO/STEREO FM mode state, selects MONO

KEY CON.(b/#): You can change the key to suit your
vocal range in KARAOKE mode.
TEMPO (-/+): This function enable you to play fast or slow
the music speed in KARAOKE mode.
SCAN(bb/BB): Search backward or forward.
SKIP(./>): Go to next or previous chapter/track/Title.

TONE CONTROL( ): Adjusts man’s or woman’s key in the
karaoke mode.
REPEAT: To select a play mode.(Random, Repeat)
SHADOW: It will be highlighted by background shadow.
S-TITLE: During playback, you can select a desired
subtitle language.

TV Control buttons: Controls the TV. (LG TV only)
PROG./MEMO.: Accesses or removes Program menu.
CLEAR: Removes a track number on the Program List.
KARAOKE: In DVD Function, it can change to Karaoke
function.
MIC VOL.(+/ - ): Adjusts microphone volume.
ECHO VOL.(+/ - ): Adjusts echo volume.
VOCAL FADER: You can enjoy the function as karaoke,
by reducing singer vocal of music in the various source.
: This button is not available.
Controlling the TV.
You can control the sound level, input source, and
power switching of LG TVs as well. Hold POWER (TV)
and press PR/CH (+/–) button repeatedly until the TV
turns on or off.

OSD – Selects a language for the Setup menu and on-screen display.
Disc Audio/ Disc Subtitle/ Disc Menu –
Selects a language for the Audio/ Menu/
Subtitle.
[Original]: Refers to the original language in which the disc was recorded.
[Others]: To select another language, press number buttons then ENTER to
enter the corresponding 4-digit number according to the language
code list in the reference chapter.
Refer to the language code on Page 21.
[Off] (for Disc Subtitle): Turn off Subtitle.
