1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Purpose
1. INTRODUCTION
This manual provides the information necessary to repair, calibration, description and download the features
of this model.
1.2 Regulatory Information
A. Security
Toll fraud, the unauthorized use of telecommunications system by an unauthorized part (for example,
persons other than your company’s employees, agents, subcontractors, or person working on your
company’s behalf) can result in substantial additional charges for your telecommunications services.
System users are responsible for the security of own system. There are may be risks of toll fraud associated
with your telecommunications system. System users are responsible for programming and configuring the
equipment to prevent unauthorized use. The manufacturer does not warrant that this product is immune
from the above case but will prevent unauthorized use of common carrier telecommunication service of
facilities accessed through or connected to it. The manufacturer will not be responsible for any charges that
result from such unauthorized use.
B. Incidence of Harm
If a telephone company determines that the equipment provided to customer is faulty and possibly causing
harm or interruption in service to the telephone network, it should disconnect telephone service until repair
can be done. A telephone company may temporarily disconnect service as long as repair is not done.
C. Changes in Service
A local telephone company may make changes in its communications facilities or procedure. If these
changes could reasonably be expected to affect the use of the phones or compatibility with the net work, the
telephone company is required to give advanced written notice to the user, allowing the user to take
appropriate steps to maintain telephone service.
D. Maintenance Limitations
Maintenance limitations on the phones must be performed only by the manufacturer or its authorized agent.
The user may not make any changes and/or repairs expect as specifically noted in this manual. Therefore,
note that unauthorized alternations or repair may affect the regulatory status of the system and may void
any remaining warranty.

1. INTRODUCTION
E. Notice of Radiated Emissions
This model complies with rules regarding radiation and radio frequency emission as defined by local
regulatory agencies. In accordance with these agencies, you may be required to provide information such as
the following to the end user.
F. Pictures
The pictures in this manual are for illustrative purposes only; your actual hardware may look slightly different.
G. Interference and Attenuation
A phone may interfere with sensitive laboratory equipment, medical equipment, etc. Interference from
unsuppressed engines or electric motors may cause problems.
H. Electrostatic Sensitive Devices
ATTENTION
Boards, which contain Electrostatic Sensitive Device (ESD), are indicated by the sign.
Following information is ESD handling:
• Service personnel should ground themselves by using a wrist strap when exchange system boards. • When
repairs are made to a system board, they should spread the floor with anti-static mat which is also grounded.
• Use a suitable, grounded soldering iron. • Keep sensitive parts in these protective packages until these are
used.
• When returning system boards or parts like EEPROM to the factory, use the protective package as described.

4 Q What should I do when I get a wrong GPS location?
GPS signals are weak. Weather conditions or surrounding environment (indoors, radiowave reection) may bother positioning. If Setting->Location & Security settings -> Use Wireless Network(ticked), you can
A
capture the position information from a nearby base station. This may not return a precise position due to a wider margin of error. Tick ‘Use GPS Satellites’ and get your current position outside via GPS, which will reduce the margin of error.

5 Q What should I do when the downloaded apps are incompatible?
Make sure the Android version where the application is operable matches the phone’s Android OS version.
A
Settings -> Phone Info -> Software Info -> See ‘Android Ver.’ Install an application supporting the same version.
6 Q What should I do to create an email account?
Subscribe on service providers’ homepages(e.g. http://www.gmail.com, http://www.
A
yahoo.com, http://www.hotmail.com) to open Email accounts.
7 Q Email registration won’t work.
1. Email service uses data. Make sure if WIFI or data is available.
2. Check the email address and password.
A
3. Check the account settings Info(IMAP, POP3, SMTP etc) for your email service.
4. Refer to the service provider’s administrator for EAS server info.
8 Q
Apps not in use are displayed as programs in operation even though I kill them all. What should I do?
Due to Android’s attributes, the app will re-run even when you end it. This is due to the cache set for faster speed before users run it or background service provided.
A
The app service keeps running in the background. For example, phone or email apps are supposed to inform users of incoming emails or calls even when they are killed.

9 Q Wi connection won’t work.
WiFi connection failure results from several causes. Retry the connection as below.
1. Check if WiFi is ON.
2. Check if AP connection is done.
1) When the AP has the Open security type, the connection is automatic and you need not enter a Password separately. If AP has not authenticated the phone, you can’t use WIFI.
Try another AP.
3. Simply, the AP info doesn’t match the PHONE info.
1) Make sure the AP info(Security type, Password) is correct on the phone.

21 Q Smart Share fails.
A The phone supports no Wi-Direct function.
3. CIC AND SERVICE CENTER
22 Q Battery drains too fast.
1. Where few antenna bars are displayed (radio shadow areas), the phone is considered far from the network. To send/receive the phone’s position info, more power is needed, which makes the battery drain faster.
2. When LCD Back Light is on, battery drains faster. For example, when LCD Back Light is 100mA/h, a 1500-mA battery allows the LCD to be left ON for 15 hr. Longer Screen Time-out settings will cause faster battery drain. Shorter screen time-out setting is better.
3. When you press the Home key to end an app, the app invisibly keeps running in the background, which makes the battery drain faster. You are advised to end apps or
A
programs using the Delete/Backward key.
4. Rooting will give the Super User authority over Android’s system domain, and may change data in the battery domain, which causes the battery to drain faster.
5. Dodolphone, NateOn, Kakao Talk, Stock/Weather widgets and other apps calling for periodic data updates will cause the battery to drain faster, when their update cycle is short.
6. To install many apps at one time, reboot it. Many widget apps installed onthe wallpaper may cause faster battery drain.
7. You can reduce battery drain by o-setting unused add-on devices (BT/Wi/GPS).

23 Q Where can I get the information about OS or SW releases?
A Settings -> Phone Info -> ‘Software Update.’ Or, go to LG Mobile home and see ‘Notice.’.
24 Q What should I do to update SW?
End users can update SW in two ways.(Web Download / FOTA)
- Web Download : Connect the phone with PC. Use the SW Update Tool to download a
new binary from the server to PC via the internet.
A
Then, install it on the phone.
- FOTA : Requires no separate PC. Via the phone’s network(3G, 4G WIFI), FOTA Package
is downloaded on the phone for automatic Install & Update.
Both maintains User Data, basically.
25 Q
How long does the warranty period last after purchase? What’s the upper limit of the warranty?
Free warranty period varies depending on providers or regions. (It is a year, normally.)
Refer to the warranty for details.
A
Reparing due to customer’s negligence may incur charges even within the free warranty period.
26 Q What kinds of phone accessories are there?
As In-Box items, Headset (Stereo), TA and data cable are provided.
