CAUTION concerning the Power Cord
Most appliances recommend they be placed upon a dedicated circuit;
That is, a single outlet circuit which powers only that appliance and has no additional outlets or branch circuits. Check the specication page of this owner’s manual to be certain. yNo naked ame sources, such as lighted candles,
should be placed on the apparatus.
yInternal lithium battery in the unit should not be
replaced by user because of danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced ,and must be replaced with the same type battery by expert.
yUse the apparatus in tropical and moderate cli-
mates only.
yThe excessive sound pressure from earphones
and headphones can cause hearing loss.
Caution of usage in the car
yTo prevent electrical shock and possible damage
to your unit or vehicle, always unplug the automotive adapter from the cigarette lighter socket before you remove the plug from your unit.
yA 3 amp. 250 V fuse for protection is installed in
the automotive adapter.
yWhile the engine is being started, disconnect
the automotive adapter from the car’s cigarette lighter socket.
yDo not operate your unit when the car battery is
discharged. Peak current from the car generator may cause the DC fuse to blow.
yIf the vehicle’s supply voltage drops below
approximately 10 volts, your unit may not work properly.
yDo not leave your unit in a place where the
temperature exceeds 45 °C (113 °F), or the pick­up device may be damaged.
Disposal of your old appliance
1. When this crossed-out wheeled bin symbol is attached to a product it means the product is covered by the European Directive 2002/96/EC.
2. All electrical and electronic products shall be disposed of separately from the municipal waste stream via designated collection facilities appointed by the government or the local authorities.

Notes on Discs
yDo not touch the playback side of the disc. Hold
the disc by the edges so that ngerprints do not get on the surface. Never stick paper or tape on the disc.
yAfter playing, store the disc in its case. Do not
expose the disc to direct sunlight or sources of heat and never leave it in a parked car exposed to direct sunlight.
Notes on the Unit
yPlease save the original shipping carton and
packing materials. If you need to ship the unit, for maximum protection, re-pack the unit as it was originally packed at the factory.
yTo clean the unit, use a soft, dry cloth. If the
surfaces are extremely dirty, use a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use strong solvents such as alcohol, benzine, or thinner, as these might damage the surface of the unit.
yThe unit is a high-tech, precision device. If the
optical pick-up lens and disc drive parts are dirty or worn, the picture quality could be diminished. For details, please contact your nearest authorized service center.

“7” may appear on the screen during operation and indicates that the function explained in this owner’s manual is not available on that specic media.

Battery Installation
Remove the battery cover on the rear of the Remote Control, and insert the battery with the + facing in the same direction as the + on the battery compartment.
yReplace Remote Control’s battery with 3 V micro
lithium cells such as CR. 2025 or its equivalent.
yDispose of battery safety in accordance with
local laws. Do not dispose of in re.

Revolving the LCD panel

You can revolve the LCD panel of the unit clockwise

a maximum of 180 degrees for use. You can also operate the unit after revolving the LCD panel 180 degrees and folding it back down.
To revolve the LCD panel, place the unit on a stable and even surface such as on a table. Push the LCD panel up and then lift it into a vertical position. Revolve the LCD panel clockwise slowly 180 degrees. If you need, fold the LCD panel after revolving it.
To revolve the LCD panel to its original position, open the LCD panel to a vertical position. Revolve the LCD panel counterclockwise slowly 180 degrees.
yWhen nished using the unit, return the LCD
panel to its original position.
yDo not leave the LCD panel in the face-up
position, or sudden shocks may damage it.
Rechargeable battery
yWhen the remaining time of the battery power is
under a few minutes, “. Check Battery” will blink on the screen.

with the freedom to pass it around and play the les without the power cord.
yThe internal rechargeable battery will start
charging only when the unit is turned o and the AC adaptor is connected to a power outlet.
yThe charging stops if you turn on the unit.
yThe charging will take approximately 3 hours
and 30 minutes.
yOperating time on battery: approximately 4
hours and 30 minutes. The operating time on battery may vary depending on the battery status, operational status and environment conditions, and the maximum playing time is possible up to 5 hours.

Connect the unit to the power supply with the supplied AC Adaptor.

Connecting the Automotive Adaptor
Connect the unit to the Cigarette lighter socket with the supplied Automotive Adaptor.
Connecting Audio and Video cable
Connect the AV OUT on the unit to AV cable connected from TV with the supplied AV Adaptor.

Connecting the TV Antenna
For TV viewing, connect the TV antenna to the TV ANT jack on the unit as shown below.

Settings
When the unit is turned-on at the rst time, you have to select the desired language. (optional)
Adjust the Setup Settings
You can change the settings of the unit in the [Setup] menu.
1. Press HOME (n).
2. Select [SETUP] option on the [Home Menu] and [SETUP] menu appears.
3. Use press d to move to the second level.
4. Use press d to move to the third level.
5. Use ENTER (b) to conrm your selection.
[TV Setup] Menu
You can adjust the settings for viewing the TV. (Refer to page 15 for details.)
[LANGUAGE] Menu
Menu Language
Select a language for the Setup menu and on­screen display.

TV Aspect
Select which screen aspect to use based on the shape of your TV screen.
[4:3]: Select when a standard 4:3 TV is connected.
[16:9]: Select when a 16:9 wide TV is connected.
Display Mode
If you selected 4:3, you’ll need to dene how you would like widescreen programs and lms to be displayed on your TV screen.
[Letterbox]: This displays a widescreen picture with black bands at the top and bottom of the screen.
[Panscan]: This lls the entire 4:3 screen, cropping the picture as necessary.
LCD Color
Select to adjust the LCD colour.
LCD Brightness
Select to adjust the LCD Brightness.

Disc Audio/Subtitle/Menu
Select a language for the Disc Audio/Subtitle/ Menu.
[Original]: Refers to the original language in which the disc was recorded.
[Other]: To select another language, press number buttons then ENTER (b) to enter the corresponding 4-digit number according to the language code list. (See page 24) If you make a mistake while entering number, press CLEAR to delete numbers then correct it.
[O](for Disc Subtitle): Turn o Subtitle.

[AUDIO] Menu
DRC (Dynamic Range Control)
Make the sound clear when the volume is turned down (Dolby Digital only). Set to [On] for this eect.
Vocal
Set to [On] only when a multi-channel karaoke DVD is playing. The karaoke channels on the disc mix into normal stereo sound.
[LOCK] Menu
Firstly, you have to create the 4-digit password on

[Area Code] to use the LOCK menu.

If you forget your password you can reset it. First, remove the disc in the unit. Display setup menu then input the 6-digit number “210499”. The password is deleted.
Rating
Select a rating level. The lower the level, the stricter the rating. Select [Unlock] to deactivate the rating.
Password
Sets or changes the password for lock settings.
Area Code
To input the standardized area code referring the Area Code List on page 23.
[OTHERS] Menu
REC Bitrate
You can choose a bit rate for USB direct recording. Higher bit rate gives the better sound quality but uses more space on the USB Flash Drive. For USB direct recording, see page 21.
DivX(R) VOD
ABOUT DIVX VIDEO: DivX® is a digital video format created by DivX, Inc. This is an ocial DivX Certied® device that plays DivX video. Visit www. divx.com for more information and software tools to convert your les into DivX video.
ABOUT DIVX VIDEO-ON-DEMAND: This DivX Certied® device must be registered in order to play purchased DivX Video-on-Demand (VOD) movies. To obtain your registration code, locate the DivX VOD section in your device setup menu. Go to vod. divx.com for more information on how to complete your registration.

Displays the registration code of your player.
[Deregister]
Deactivate your player and display the deactivation code.

Viewing a TV Channel
Auto Tuning
Automatically nds all channels available through the ‘Antenna In’ source and stores all the active channels found.
Select “Auto Tuning” option then press ENTER (b) to start auto tuning.
1. Select [T V] option on the [Home Menu].
2. Press TV SETUP to display [TV Setup] menu.
3. Select [CH. System], and press d.
4. Select a TV System (PAL B/G,PAL/I, PAL D/K or
SECAM B/G, SECAM D/K)
5. Select [Auto Tuning], and press d.
6. When [START] is highlighted, press ENTER (b) to start auto tuning.
Manual Tuning
You can edit a channel using [Manual Tuning] option in the [TV Setup] menu.
1. Select [T V] option on the [Home Menu].
2. Press TV SETUP to display [TV Setup] menu.
3. Select [Manual Tuning], and press d.
4. When [SELECT] is highlighted, press ENTER (b) to display [Manual Tuning] menu.
5. Use select a value of the item to be set.
6. To save the your setting, select [OK] then press ENTER (b).

y[Channel]: Selects a channel number.
y[Fine]: Selects a frequency to obtain a clear
picture.
y[Band]: Selects a channel band. (VHF H, VHF L
or UHF)
y[Manual]: Searches for a channel
automatically. Searching stops when the unit tunes in a channel.
y[Skip]: Sets the channel to the skipped
channel. The channel cannot be selected using the CH +/- button during TV viewing.

Notes on the TV receiving signal
If the TV receiving signal is poor, it may appear following symptoms.

It may not receive TV receiving signals as following.

3. Close the disc lid.
For the most DVD-ROM discs, playback starts automatically.

Basic operations for video and audio content
To stop playback
Press STOP (Z) while playback.
To pause playback
Press PAUSE/STEP (M) while playback. Press PLAY (z) to resume playback.
To play frame-by-frame

Press PAUSE/STEP (M) while movie playback. Press PAUSE/STEP (M) repeatedly to play Frame-by­Frame playback.
To scan forward or backward
Press c or v to play fast forward or fast reverse during playback.
You can change the various playback speeds by pressing c or v repeatedly.
To slow down the playing speed (Forward only)

While the playback is paused, press v repeatedly to play various speeds of slow motion.
To skip to the next/previous chapter/track/file
During playback, press C or V to return to the beginning of the current chapter/track/le or to go to the next chapter/track/le.
Press C twice briey to step back to the previous chapter/track/le.

Resume playback

The unit records the point where you pressed the STOP (Z) depending on the disc. If “MZ (Resume Stop)” appears on the screen briey, press PLAY (z) to resume playback (from the scene point). If you press STOP (Z) twice or unload the disc, “Z(Complete Stop)” appears on the screen. The unit will clear the stopped point.

1. While playback, press A-B to select [Repeat A] at the beginning of the portion you wish to repeat.

2. Press a number button to select a marker number that you want to recall. Playback starts from the marked scene.

Last Scene Memory

This unit memorizes the last scene from the last disc that is viewed. The last scene remains in memory even if you remove the disc from the unit or switch o the unit. If you load a disc that has the scene memorized, the scene is automatically recalled.
Screen Saver
The screen saver appears when you leave the player in Stop mode for about 5 minutes. The unit automatically turns itself o after the Screen Saver is displayed for 5 minutes.
Playing from selected time

1. Press Q. MENU (m) during playback. The time search box shows the elapsed playing time.
2. Select the [Time] option and then input the required start time in hours, minutes, and seconds from left to right.
For example, to nd a scene at 2 hours, 10 minutes, and 20 seconds, enter “21020”.
3. Press ENTER (b) to start playback from selected time.

Watching from a different angle

If the disc contains scenes recorded at dierent camera angles, you can change to a dierent camera angle during playback.

Playing a DVD-VR disc
This unit will play DVD-RW disc that is recorded using the Video Recording (VR) format.
1. When you insert a disc DVD-VR disc, the [MOVIE] menu will appear on the screen.

4. Press AUDIO to display the [CD Ripping] menu.
5. Use (b). [Ripping Speed] menu will appear.
6. Use press ENTER (b) to start USB Direct Recording.
7. A message appears when USB Direct Recording is completed. Select [Yes] then press ENTER (b) and [Home Menu] will appear.

2. Install the cradle as shown in the gure.

If you may not be able to install the headrest cradle because of the pipe thickness of your headrest, extend the cradle loosing its screws and reinstall it.
3. Put the headrest mounting bracket on the back of unit and x it using the xing screws.
4. Fit the headrest mounting bracket joined the unit to the cradle.
5. Adjust the horizontal and vertical angles as you want and enjoy the movies.

When you adjust angles, loose the adjusting screws. Adjusting by force can lead the damage to the inside of your headrest mounting bracket.
