- Low refrigerant levels may cause failure of product.
• Install the drain hose to ensure that water is drained away properly.
- A bad connection may cause water leakage.

• Use two or more people to lift and transport the product.
- Avoid personal injury.

• Any person who is involved with working on or breaking into a refrigerant circuit should hold a current valid certificate from an industry accredited assessment authority, which authorises their competence to handle refrigerants safely in accordance with an industry recognised assessment specification. (for R32)
• The appliance shall be stored so as to prevent mechanical damage from occurring.
• Do not install the product where the noise or hot air from the outdoor unit could damage the neighborhoods.
- It may cause a problem for your neighbors.
• If anyone other than a licensed Professional installs, repairs, or alters LG Electronics Air Conditioning Products, the warranty is voided.
- All costs associated with repair are then the full responsibility of the
owner.
Operation
• Do not expose the skin directly to cool air for long periods of time. (Don't sit in the draft.)
- This could harm to your health.
• Do not use the product for special purposes, such as preserving foods, works of art, etc. It is a consumer air conditioner, not a precision refrigeration system.
- There is risk of damage or loss of property.
• Do not block the inlet or outlet of air flow.
- It may cause product failure.
• Use a soft cloth to clean. Do not use harsh detergents, solvents, etc.
- There is risk of fire, electric shock, or damage to the plastic parts of
the product.
• Do not touch the metal parts of the product when removing the air filter. They are very sharp!

• Do not step on or put anything on the product. (outdoor units)

• Always insert the filter securely. Clean the filter every two weeks or more often if necessary.

- A dirty filter reduces the efficiency of the air conditioner and could cause product malfunction or damage.
• Do not insert hands or other objects through the air inlet or outlet while the product is operated.
- There are sharp and moving parts that could cause personal injury.
• Do not drink the water drained from the product.
- It is not sanitary and could cause serious health issues.
• Use a firm stool or ladder when cleaning or maintaining the product.
- Be careful and avoid personal injury.
• Servicing shall only be performed as recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Maintenance and repair requiring the assistance of other skilled personnel shall be carried out under the supervision of the person competent in the use of flammable refrigerants. (for R32)
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with
the appliance.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Preparing for Operation
1. Contact an installation specialist for installation.
2. Use a dedicated circuit.
Usage
1. Being exposed to direct airflow for an extended period of time could be hazardous to your health. Do not expose occupants, pets, or plants to direct airflow for extended periods of time.
2. Due to the possibility of oxygen deficiency, ventilate the room when used together with stoves or other heating devices.
3. Do not use this air conditioner for non-specified special purposes (e.g. preserving precision devices, food, pets, plants, and art objects). Such usage could damage the items.
Cleaning and Maintenance
1. Do not touch the metal parts of the unit when removing the filter. Injuries can occur when handling sharp metal edges.
2. Do not use water to clean inside the air conditioner. Exposure to water can destroy the insulation, leading to possible electric shock.
3. When cleaning the unit, first make sure that the power and breaker are turned off. The fan rotates at a very high speed during operation. There is a possibility of injury if the unit’s power is accidentally triggered on while cleaning inner parts of the unit.

How to insert the Batteries
1. Remove the battery cover by pulling it according to the arrow direction.
2. Insert new batteries making sure that the (+) and (-) of battery are installed correctly.
3. Reattach the cover by sliding it back into position.
NOTE
1. Always use/replace both batteries of same type.
2. If the system is not to be used for a long time, remove the batteries to save their working life.
3. If the display screen of remote controller starts, fading replace both of the batteries.
Wireless Remote Controller Maintenance
1. Choose a suitable place where its safe & easy to reach.
2. Fix the holder to wall etc with the supplied screws firmly.
3. Slide the remote controller inside the holder.
NOTE
1. Remote controller should never be exposed to direct sunlight.
2. Signal transmitter & receiver should always be clean for proper communication. Use a soft cloth to clean them.
3. In case some other appliances also get operated with remote control, change their position or consult your serviceman.
Operating Method
1. The signal receiver is inside the unit.

Aim the remote controller towards the unit to operate it. There should not be any blockage in between.

up/down airflow direction. Manually moving the vertical airflow direction louver by hand, could damage the air conditioner.
When the unit is shut off, the up/down airflow
direction louver will close the air outlet vent of the system.

Room temperature checking
Whenever press button, the room temperature will be displayed within 5 seconds. After 5 seconds, it turns to display the desired temperature. Because of location of remote controller, the real room temperature and the this displayed value can be different.

while stopping, when the air conditioner is stopped after the next operation, it performs the automatic dehumidification function at the end of operation.
During the automatic dehumidification operation,
it is set to dry operation with low wind intensity.

Air Circulation Operation
This operation circulates the air without cooling or heating. It can be activated by pressing the OPERATION MODE SELECTION button. Once the air circulation is activated you can select the fan speed by pressing the FAN SPEED button.
NOTE
During this operation , Operation lamp 'Blue' lights up.
Auto Clean Operation
f
Select Auto Clean Operation by the function setting button( ). Now whenever the unit is turned off, the indoor fan is still running for about 15 minutes inter dehumidification operation. This function dries up any remains of moisture & cleans the unit internally. If you push the Auto Clean button again, this function is cancelled.
NOTE
o During Auto Clean function, only ON/OFF button, PURIFIER button, AUTO
CLEAN button is used. During this operation, Operation Lamp 'Blue' lights up and blink.
Air Purifier Operation
The sterilized ion generating system, Ion Generator, emits around
1.2 million ions, and catches hazardous substances floating in the air, therefore proactively looking for and catching germs. Air purifier operation can be started by pressing the PURIFIER button on the remote controller.
Repressing it will deactivate the operation.
NOTE
• This feature can be used in any operation mode and fan speed by pressing the PURIFIER button.
• Separate purification operation is possible in stop condition. It is cancelled by pressing PURIFIER button or ON/OFF button.
• If jet cool is operated in separate PURIFIER operation, purification and jet cool is operated at once. In 30 minutes after the operation, it return to purification in cooling mode, high fan speed, 18 °C setting temperature.

Energy-Saving Cooling Mode
Energy-saving cooling mode can save energy in cooling operation, because it can operate efficiently by setting body-adaptation time according to the change of time and temperature and adjusting desired temperature automatically.
Energy Saving Cooling Mode operation can be started by pressing the ENERGY SAVING COOLING MODE button on the remote controller.
Repressing it will deactivate the operation.
Display Temperature Unit
This function allows switching the display between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature unit.

Timer Setting
1. Press ON or OFF button.

To cancel the timer setting
• If you wish to cancel all timer setting, press the Set/clear button.
• In order to cancel the timer settings individually, press the Timer button to select Reserved 'On' or
Reserved 'Off'. And then press the Set/Clear button aiming the remote controller at the signal receiver. (the timer lamp on the display will go off)
Sleep Mode Operation
Press the SLEEP MODE AUTO button to set the time when you want the unit to stop automatically. The timer is programmed in one-hour increments by pressing the SLEEP MODE AUTO button 1 to 7 times. The sleep mode is available for 1 to 7 hours.
NOTE
• The sleep mode will operate indoor fan at super low speed in cooling mode and at low speed in heating mode for pleasant sleep.
• In cooling mode or healthy dehumidification mode:
The setting temperature will rise automatically two times by 1°C over next consecutive 30 minutes (Maximum 2°C) for a comfortable sleep. This will be the final setting temperature as long as sleep mode is functioning.

Auto Changeover Operation (Single Model Only)
This operation is basically heating or cooling function of the air conditioner. But during this operation the controller changes the operation mode automatically to keep the temperature within ±2°C with respect to the setting temperature.

Upper Horizontal Vane Control
The Upper Horizontal Vane can be adjusted by using the remote controller.
1. Press the ON/OFF button to start the unit.
2. Press the UPPER HORIZONTAL VANE CONTROL button. Each time the button is pressed, the air-flow direction is changed in the direction of the arrow.

When you restart the unit, Upper Horizontal Vane will be located as you selected before.
Selecting air outlet direction (for console)
You can select the air outlet. Press ON/OFF button to start the unit. Press the AIR OUTLET button.
• If is selected, only upper air outlet will be opened and blow air.
• If is selected, only lower air outlet will be opened and blow air.
• If is selected, upper/lower air outlets will be opened and blow air.
Filter Sign
When Indoor Unit is OFF, Operation lamp 'Green' lights up after 2400 hours from the time of first operation of the unit.
• When filter is covered by dust, it will reduce cooling/ heating efficiency and accumulate more electric power. Therefore, do clean the filter whenever cleaning time is expired.
• Remove the Filter Sign

After cleaning the filter, Press the
button of remote controller 3 times. Then the Filter sign is turned off.

Forced Operation
Operation procedures when the remote control can't be used. Press the tact switch (ON/OFF button) for 2 seconds. If you want to stop operation, press again the tact switch. In case the power comes on again after power failure on the forced operation mode, the operating conditions are automatically set as follows:During forced operation, the initial mode continues.

1. Remove air filters.
o Take hold of the tab and pull slightly forward to
remove the filter.

2. Remove plasma filter.
o Unscrew 2 screws from plasma filter.
3. Clean dirt from the air filter using a vacuum cleaner or washing with water.
o If dirt is conspicuous, wash with a neutral
detergent in lukewarm water.
o If hot water (50 °C or more) is used, it may be
deformed.
4. After washing with water, dry well in the shade.
o
Do not expose the air filter to direct sunlight or heat from a fire when drying it.
5. Install plasma filter and air filter.

Deodorizer Filters
Remove the deodorizer filters behind the air filter and expose them in direct sunlight for 2 hours. And then insert these filters into original position.
Removal of Filters

Pull out the upper section of front panel and lift it up. Take out a filter with front panel held. With PUSH button pressed, pull out grip to take out a plasma filter. Dry it completely in the shade after cleaning. Then set a plasma filter and a filter orderly. Put the hook of front panel onto the hanger, in order to close the front panel.

How to replace picture & photograph
1.
Turn off power and then open the upper part of front panel.

Take out picture.

Pull out the both links of lower part of front panel, as described in the below picture.

Turn upside-down of the picture and turn over mat, then take off a protective tape attached at the mat.

Push and close the top part of the front panel and then pull the bottom part of the panel forward until it is secured.
6.
Place the picture/photograph between the exited picture and mat. (Recommended size of a photo/picture: 450 mm x 450 mm)

2. Then pull out the link of grille from groove in front panel.
3. Then pull out 2 hinges of grille from grooves in front panel.
Removal of Filters
1. Pull down the filter tab slightly to remove the air filter.
2. Hold the tabs of the frame, and remove the claws in 4 places.

When the air conditioner is not going to be used for a long time
When it is not going to be used for a long time.
Operate the air conditioner at the following settings for 2 to 3 hours.
• Type of operation: Fan operation mode.
• This will dry out the internal mechanisms.
Turn off the breaker.

CAUTION
Turn off the breaker when the air conditioner is not going to be used for a long time.
Dirt may collect and may cause a fire.
Helpful information
The air filters and your electric bill. If the air filters become clogged with dust, the cooling capacity will drop, and 6 % of the electricity used to operate the air conditioner will be wasted.
Operation Tips
Do not overcool the room.
Keep blinds or curtains
closed.
When the air conditioner is to be used again.
Clean the air filter and install it in the indoor unit.
Check that the air inlet and outlet of the indoor/outdoor unit are not blocked.
Check that the ground wire is connected correctly. It may be connect to the indoor unit side.
Keep the room temperature
uniform.
This is not good for the health and wastes electricity.
Make sure that the doors
and windows are shut tight.
Avoid opening doors and windows as much as possible to keep the cool air in the room.
Do not let direct sunshine enter the room when the air conditioner is in operation.
Clean the air filter regularly.
Blockages in the air filter reduce the airflow and lower cooling and dehumidifying effects. Clean at least once every two weeks.
Adjust the vertical and horizontal airflow direction to ensure a uniform temperature in the room.
Ventilate the room
occasionally.
Since windows are kept closed, it is a good idea to open them and ventilate the room now and then.

Check the following points before requesting repairs or service.... If the malfunction persist,
please contact your dealer.
The air conditioner
does not operate.
• Have you made a mistake in timer operation?
• Has the fuse blown or has the circuit breaker been tripped?
Does not cool or heat
effectively.
• Is the air filter dirty? See air filter cleaning instructions.
• The room may have been very hot when the room air conditioner was first turned on. Allow time for it to cool down.
• Has the temperature been set incorrectly?
• Are the indoor unit's air inlet or outlet vents obstructed?
The room has a
peculiar odor.
• Check that this is not a damp smell exuded by the walls, carpet, furniture or cloth items in the room.
The air conditioner operation is noisy.
• For a noise that sounds like water flowing.
- This is the sound of
freon flowing inside the air conditioner unit.
• For a noise that sounds like the compressed air releasing into atmosphere.
- This is the sound of
the dehumidifying water being processed inside the air conditioning unit.
It seems that
condensation is
leaking from the air
conditioner.
• Condensation occurs when the airflow from the air conditioner cools the warm room air.
Crack sound is
heard.
• This sound is generated by the expansion/ constriction of the front panel, etc. due to changes of temperature.
Air conditioner does
not operate for about
3 minutes when
restart.
• This is the protector of the mechanism.
• Wait about three minutes and operation will begin.
Remote control
display is faint, or no
display at all.
• Are the batteries depleted?
• Are the batteries inserted in the opposite (+) and (-) directions? 
NOTE
• Water resistant: The outdoor side of this appliance is WATER RESISTANT.
• Some functions may not be supported, depending on the model.
The indoor side is not water resistant and should not be exposed to excess water.
