Overview
Welcome to Document Distributor Version 2.1, a suite of scanning and document distribution tools. The Document Distributor software, combined with the Lexmark™ Multifunction Printer (MFP), lets you turn your time-consuming paper processes into automated digital ones.
The Document Distributor solution provides a way to write custom scripts that encompass steps of your paper work flow. Combine these custom scripts with scan settings (format, resolution, color depth, and so on) to create profiles that are accessible from Lexmark MFPs and end-user workstations. Users can then submit a paper or digital document into the digital work flow. The document is then processed as defined by the script.

Integrates with existing work flows
Because Document Distributor can interface with industry standard applications, there is no need to replace your entire process. Simply automate those parts of your process that are repetitive and time-consuming.
Problem:
A software company uses Lotus Notes for its e-mail and database needs. One department deals with other companies and frequently signs confidentiality agreements and work statements. Copies of these statements must be stored for legal purposes.
Occasionally, these statements are referred to by someone in the department. Currently the paper documents are kept in file folders in Joe's office. When a new document is signed, it's given to Joe to store in his office. If someone needs to view one of the documents, Joe must sort through his file folders, locate the document, make a copy of it, then re-file it.
The department wants to provide an automated way to store and retrieve these documents without having Joe in the middle of the process. But the users in the department don't want to install or learn any new software.
