Dimensions Software
For the latest version of the D3200 software,
please visit www.leviton.com/D3200
Leviton provided software can be used to assist in setting up an individual Dimensions D3206 or D3208 Multizone Controller, as well as configuring a system of many D3206/8 units networked together. A device or system can be configured before or after the devices are installed.
The process of setting up a device involves 3 stages. First the information must be entered into the D3200 Data Manager. The Data Manager is a database with a graphical user interface to assist the user in entering the proper information. Next, the user chooses to export certain information for downloading to the devices. Exporting is a process in which the selected information in the database is translated into a simple text format. The third step is to download the information into the D320x. The Download Manager, a separate program (included with the Data Manager) translates the simple text format into bytes the D3200 can understand.
The Download Manager uses the Leviton HTTP Server to facilitate the transfer data from the Download Manger to the D3200. When using the Download Manager, the user must be sure that the Leviton HTTP Server is running.
Data Manager
Double-clicking on the Data Manager Icon opens up the following window:
Startup Screen
There are three options: Create New System, Open Existing System and Exit D3200 Data Manager.
Create New System: This is for starting a new system.
Open Existing System: Open a system that has already been created.
Exit Data Manager: Exits the program.

Panel Setup Screen:
Notes:
• Zone names are different for every panel. If you have multiple panels, and you want to have customized names, you must enter the zone names for each panel. Whichever zones you do not enter custom names for will retain their default name.
• Choosing the Panel number from the pull down list tells the software which panel you are currently working with. However, before downloading the information to the actual devices, they must have their Panel numbers programmed. Programming a device’s Panel number must be done through the menu screen on the device.
• Only 16 characters are allowed for all names.
Config Device Screen:
The Config Device screen has four different tabs. The tabs are: Config Names, Setup, Time Events, and Scene Names.
Config Names Tab
This screen is used to add/remove and customize the configuration names. For example, Wedding, Conference, etc… This screen should not be used unless there is a D3208 in the system.
Notes:
• After entering a name, press the up or down arrow to navigate to adjacent rows.
• There are 255 possible configurations. Only provide names for the configurations you are using. Download time increases with each additional configuration used.

Export Screen (cont’d)
Downloading an entire system can take a long time, which will depend on a number of factors including the speed of the PC, how much memory is installed, the number of configurations created, and if the HTTP Server is on the same computer or not. To only download specific information, the check boxes in the Export List are used. The check boxes with a “+” sign next to them have sub-sections.
a. Configuration – includes configuration information (all zone settings).
Configuration has a sub-section called Setup. This sub-section allows you to include configuration information about specific panels. Choosing a limited set of panels will speed up the download time.
b. Events – includes all Time Events. c. Holidays – includes all Holidays. d. Panels – includes Panel Names. Panels has a subsection to include
all zone names.
e. Scene Names - includes all Scene Names. f. Time Zone & Location – includes Time Zone, Daylight Savings
selection, Latitude and Longitude.
Notes:
• While the compilation process is working, a window will open containing a progress bar.
• If the Automatically start Download Manager after export check box is checked, a window will appear when the export is complete, stating “.INI File Load Complete”, and the Download Manager will open with the file already loaded.
Download Manager
The Download Manager includes all of the features of previous versions, with additional functionality for scene uploading, image file manipulation, as well as additional troubleshooting features.
The Download Manager program is responsible for transferring information contained in the .INI file to the device. The information transfer happens as follows: The Download Manager loads the .INI file, then formats and transfers that information in pieces to the HTTP Server. The HTTP Server resends that information through the serial port to the NE100 SmartJack. The SmartJack then sends the information out on the LCnet. Whenever the Download Manager is used, the HTTP Server (LPDS) must be running. The Download Manager also contains a window from which partial real-time control of the system can be achieved. This screen, the
Dimmer Setup
Screen, allows programming of
the date, time and scenes.
Download Manager Menus:
The Download Manager contains the following menus: File, Network, Tools, Web and Help.
The Download Manager introduces the ability to load scene information from the devices to check the data and create a backup. Using the Load Scene option, the scene information will be polled from the devices and placed in the memory dump area. The data can then be saved as an image file. In addition, the scene information is displayed in an easy to read format as an HTML file.
File Menu:
The Download Manager works with .INI, D3200 and D320x file types:
• An .INI file contains data created when utilizing the export function of
the Data Manager. Information in an .INI files is formatted as plain text. The Download Manager translates this information into a format that can be transferred to the devices.
• An image file is stored with a .D3200 file extension. An image file
contains raw data in the format native to the device.
A new file type has been introduced with version 2.0. This file type is D3200. This file type incorporates data for the auxiliary channels on the D3208. The Download Manager version 2.0 will handle either D320x or D3200 files. Version 1.x will only work with D320x files.
• The Load D3200 .INI selection opens an .INI file into the program memory and maps the information to the necessary format for downloading.
• The Load Image option loads an image file.
• The Save Image selection will save the data in the Memory dump to a D3200 file or as D320x for versions before 2.0.
• The Merge Images option is used to merge two or more image files together.
This is for advanced use only
.
• The Load Scene Image will load the specified scene information from an existing image file, and display it as a webpage.
• The Exit selection closes the Download Manager.

default fade-rate settings. If you wish to change the fade rate setting for one of the channels from default to one that you prefer, hold ALT-key and double-click with your mouse on the line that contains the data for the desired zone that will open an edit dialog:
Here, change the “04” in field #1 to any desired number that will represent the new fade rate. The numbers that are being entered are Hexadecimal numbers and can be in range from 00 to FF.
Press the Apply button when finished.
Merge Images…
Merge Images is used in situations when you want to have two or more images combined together. For example, you wish to have an image from all 6 zones in your D3206/8 device. In order to do that, you have to upload data separately for each zone and for example, you would save the images for each zone in separate image files; Zone1, Zone2, …, Zone6. It would be convenient that when you need to restore your system, that you’d open one image file and download it to the device instead of opening six files and downloading it six times. For this matter, use the “Merge Images”. When this menu item selected, the Windows Open dialog will open and you will be able to select multiple files that you’d like to combine (use Shift or Ctrl for multiple selections).
Note: You can only select the D3200 files. After you are done, press on [Open]. The Windows Save As dialog will open.
Enter the name of the merged file (Ex: AllZones) and press [Save]. After the merging operation is complete, all successfully merged files will be saved into a new file and the data will be loaded into the “Memory Dump”.
