Who Needs BMO?

Applications for BMO Energy Management Software
Page 30

Tenant Billing

Tenant Billing is the single largest application for BMO software:
Property owners/managers need a platform to
generate utility bills for their tenants

Summary of Requirements
Measurement devices must be installed in new buildings to separately monitor energy use
Requirements include user accessible metering of total electrical use
Specifications for the separation of 10 types of electrical loads for switchboards, panels and motor control centers required to be disaggregated

Code Compliance

Aggregated Reporting by Load Type
Circuit Aggregation Requirements
In order to capture and total all lighting load in a
building, multiple metered loads must be “added together” or “aggregated” to provide a total lighting load figure for the building.
This is typically accomplished by the metering system
or software using “Virtual Metering Functions”
Virtual Meters are values derived from the sum of
multiple meters added together or subtracted from one another.

Data Storage & Presentation Requirements
To meet Code language intent, we need to
capture meter data in specified intervals, store that data for 36 months. Graphical displays of data are required if the building has a digital control system installed.
Not all digital control platforms are suited to
this type of functionality.
Designer should consider plans for separate
AMR platform with local/cloud storage and graphical presentment capability.
