Introduction

MDU -2400FXC 4 Port 100Mbps SC Fiber Switch Module

There are two open slots (‘MODULE 1’ and ‘MODULE 2’) on the front panel of the Scalable
Ethernet Switch. The user can choose to slide in up to two of the FX modules to increase the link
distance. This users guide describes the installation steps for the 4-Port 100Base-FX fiber
module. Also note that the module only works when incorporated with the base unit. For detailed
system level operation, please refer to the Users Manual.

MDU -2800TX 8 Port 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Switch Module

There are two open slots (‘MODULE 1’ and ‘MODULE 2’) on the front panel of the Scalable
Ethernet Switch. The user can choose to slide in up to two of the modules to increase
10/100Mbps-port density. This users guide describes the installation steps for the 8-Port
100Base-TX module. Also note that the module only works when incorporated with the base
unit. For detailed system level operation, please refer to the Users Manual.

MDU -2100SX 1000SX Gigabit Switch Module

There are two open slots (‘MODULE 1’ and ‘MODULE 2’) on the front panel of the Scalable
Ethernet Switch. The user can choose to slide in up to two of the modules to equip the system
with 1000Mbps-port capability. This users guide describes the installation steps of the 1-Port
1000Base-SX fiber module. Also note that the module only works when incorporated with the
base unit. For detailed system level operation, please refer to the Users Manual.

Installation

Please be sure the power of the system is down during the installation. Insert one or two modules
into the slots on the front panel of the switch (be sure the module is aligned within the guide-rails
and that the two fasteners on the front side of the module are tightened), as shown in the
following figure.
